Awesome post. From what i remember this was one of the final races at Chicago Motor Speedway. It was in a bad neighborhood so they built the state of the art Chicagoland Speedway and ditched this bitch. Anyway great upload thanks.

Thank you sooo much for this! I feel like my life is now more complete. I love this racetrack. This was the missing link of my quest. Thank you greatly! Now if only I can get 2002 Rockingham, my desired CART races to see will be completed.
I remember at the time being really disappointed Da Matta won (pulling for Dario at the time), but looking back now CDM had an amazing run that year, that incident with the deer at Elkhart pretty much ended his career sadly.
Huh. Tora Takagi qualifed 8th for this race. Was this his best ever CART start, or did he ever start better than that? B/C in all the CART races that I have seen start in, he tends to start near the back of the pack.
@Pabig93 Don't forget that Michael Ballack was suspended for that game for getting two yellow cards in the quarterfinal vs. USA, and the semifinal vs. South Korea. If he would have played in the final, the outcome would have been totally different.......

Man, how come Jim Swintell flew the green there? Franchitti clearly jumped the start there! That should have been a non-start!
I knew when I saw that start that it wasn't going to be a clean one. And, as it turned out, it wasn't.
