I'm a big Dave Chappelle fan..I wiki'ed the guy and saw that his inspiration was Richard Pryor..Meaning that this guy should be the greatest comedian to ever step on stage..It's minute 5:59 and that statement still holds true..
It took me forever to find this because (for some reason) I thought this was called "Richard Pryor: Live on Bourbon Street". They saved the best one for last!!! R.I.P. Richard. We love you!!!!
here and now tour came to the atl. and it was at the civic center and patti labelle opened the show,i never laughed so hard in my life..............thanks richard
People talk about this politician or that "leader", and all they bring is misery. Richard Pryor brought us the gift of laughter combined with insight and compassion. His legacy is great; he blessed the world. All the politicos in history aren't worth one of his toenail clippings. God bless and rest your soul, Richard Pryor.
@Molblu Thanks, guys for agreeing with me. I swear that I miss Richard Pryor every single day. Heck, I'll get up in the middle of the night just to watch some of his performances on YT. Last night I was laughing my arse off at his impressions of the Mafia guys he once worked for at one of their clubs. Absolute comedic GENIUS. I think it was from Live On The Sunset Strip; if you haven't seen it, do so.
@KaptKan1 I watched that joke too and I love his voice inpersonation on there and when he said "You f**king kid!" LOL! Richard Pryor definitely was a gift to this world! Richard Pryor is my hero!
@Molblu Yeah, you can practically SEE the characters when you hear Richard do their voices. The only man who ever was as good as Richard Pryor at doing impersonations of people he knew and observed is Jonathan Winters. When asked who his favourite comedian was, Richard Pryor replied instantly, "Jonathan Winters!" Check some of his stuff on Youtube, also.
Btw, Rain Pryor, his daughter, wrote a book called "Jokes My Father Never Told Me." You might like it; it's very interesting.

Delirious is the best ever. I laughed so hard that night I could not stop laughing. All of Richard's stuff is bad but Delirious is still the best ever.
You all so need to listen to his albums 1971 "Craps After Hours", 1974 "That Niggers Crazy", 1975 "Is it Something I said?," 1976 "Bicentiennel Nigger"
Simply, the greatest comedian that ever lived. With apologies to Hope, Foxx, Carlin and Murphy, Richard Pryor was, is and will always be the best comedian ever to go on stage.
@DigitalHamSandwich you mean die young? Rich was in his 60s when he passed away. Considering all the s*** he put himself through he lived a pretty full life :D

I am not from Richard's era, but man, I love his humor and if there is a comedy hall of fame, he definitely deserve to be there. I love Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Bernie Mac, and Jamie Foxx, but man, Richard is definitely one of a kind.
I agree, a good stand up combines the two effortlessly. I haven't seen a single stand up comic who does a completely different show every time. That would be impossible.
Most if not all comedians have at least a general plan of material for the show...some of it is memorized...some is improvised...to what degree depends on the comedian...or in some cases the audience
You can go to any music store or retail store best buy/electronic store and ask for the video called here and now by Richard Pryor and PLEASE SEE HIS MOVIES ESPECIALLY WHICH WAY IS UP . He started those characters playing varies parts like when Eddie Murphy did Nutty Professor. LOL
I LOVED the music when it starts 2 come on. This was the very 1st show that I saw of Richard. I NEVER liked Rich AT ALL,I thought he wasn't funny. Then this show came on,and there was nothin else on tv,so I decided 2 give him a chance. One of the best decisions I've made in my life. After I saw this,I fell IN LOVE.
