I stupidly updated my iphone cause itunes told me to, and poof! I lost everything from my jailbreak and now I can't seem to redo my jailbreak, I have no idea what i"m doing wrong???
it wont be able to jailbreak anything , because 10.5.6 disables the recognition of DFU mode. and all firmware versions must go into DFU mode to be jailbroken. so sorry you might need a usb hub before you can actually do anything with 10.5.6
depends on what macbook you have. If you have the new october 2008 unibody macbooks I do not think jailbreaking is possible. But if you have an older macbook, you have to download the kernel patch. I dont know it off the to of my head, OR you have to use a USB hub and then itunes will recognize your iphone
i just finished jailbreaking mine and am about to try to unlock it...i used my imac at home which is 10.4.11 and it worked. good luck man, i know how it is to look all over the internet and see so many people who have successfully jailbroken their phones and you cant seem to get yours...do you maybe know someone who has an older mac yu can use??
To be honest I don't know how long the jb will last. The next update could come out soon, but upgrading will take away the priveledges of the yellowsn0w unlock.(i will posting the tutorial in the near future), I do recommend it but you should have the bossprefs toggle to turn it off when you don't need it so no problems occur.
its a preferences manager like to toggle 3g on or off, wifi, and also yellowsn0w when you are not using it. Bossprefs is not limited to those but those are the basic bosspref functions.
I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THAT JAILBREAKING CANNOT BE DOME WITH 10.5.6 IVE BEEN TRYING FOR WEEKS THINKING THAT I DID SOMETHING WRONG...also, do you know how long the jailbreak will last say if an update comes out?? and do you recoment unlocking it with the snow app thing?
Youre supposed to leave The disable partition wipe-out checked. Or else you should have just used Quickpwn. That way you will not unlock it. And preserve the current base band.
Restoring from back up will not hurt your phone. I just did it. I did it because you did not say to choose "Set up as a new iphone" which I assume is what you are supposed to do, because my iphone is not jailbroken. please be more descriptive. I could have just ruined a brand new iphone.
the pwnage tool wont read the firmwire like it says that i dont have any frimwire installed what do i need to do thanks :)?

Apparently now you can jailbreak the 2.2 firmware on Mac OS 10.5.6.; They have found a way to re-enable the DFU mode.
An Automator file was made that does the work for you.
There is also said that using a USB Hub (connect the iPhone to the HUB) will allow the DFU mode...
