  • too much heroin for jimmy in this concert. it's the only concert that i disliked as well as the last album "in throught the out door"..

  • i wish i could hear the bass

  • Plant sounds amazing but Jimmy's a bit sloppy here...

  • @CreativeChick8 guitars always sound bad when you lose the bass in the mix

  • Led Zep were a great band and Jimmy Page was a great guitarist (mainly in the studio live he was always a bit sloppy and got worse when the substance abuse took hold)but this does not show them or him at thier best its pretty awful really. As for the all time great guitarists then there was no one better than Ritchie Blackmore in the 70s both with Deep Purple and Rainbow he was simply untouchable as a live rock giutarist IMHO

  • @discoStu02 Sounds like laser?

  • What does Robert say at 8:36????

  • @discoStu02 PLant says laser, cuz someone in the crowd yelled it out

  • Robert Plant is the best

  • OK, Who's the 7 fuckers who clicked dislike? Show Yourselves

  • NO habra mejor version q la de estudio

  • i was there for the first weekend of this.they were my idols.bonzo was great jpj good plant great in parts and sadly pagey was rubbish.i was happy to have been there specialy after what happened but i was dissapointed and sad they didnt live up to my dreams unfortunately.still wouldna missed it for te world though lol..........

  • The karma from Zeppelin's music is divine.Page's guitar work is sublime.JIMMY

  • Robert Plant is good

  • jimmy is not good here

  • I swear to god, I think there's people just going around Youtube disliking things for the hell of it.

  • Oh my gosh i freaking LOVE this version!n robert plants voice sounds soo good and jimmy's tone and sound is ehat makes it one of the best song ever

  • You can't find a bigger Zeppelin/Jimmy Page fan than ME and all this talk of Zeppelin in their prime or whatever is silly because EVERYTHING Zeppelin did was in their PRIME. Oh sure Jimmy doesn't play this like he did in 1973 but listen to what he does play here, its so inventive, ragged right and unique as if he is looking for new ways to approach playing which is his mantra ever onward so forget comparing it because you can't , this is simply a different Page still doing it better than anyone!

  • its so funny how all the people think a song should be played exactly the same way every single time. come out of the wood work to put down a single performance. Sorry , but thats not what zeppelin was about.

  • That was awful they sould have never done Knebworth they just was no ready for it.

Any one here who says this is the best dont know zep and what they were like in their prime....get real.

  • @skinterz I tend to agree in 1979 jimmy page was thought to be in the grip of heroin addiction meaning work on their new album "in through the out door" had to be mostly completed by john paul-jones and robert plant more emphasis on keyboards and vocals was the result , as anybody who owns the album will surely agree, meaning quite possibly page was not in the right frame of mind for this gig, although the gig is far from bad i think robert plant carries the day.

  • @skinterz If you own the zep dvd, of the knebworth show, along with MSG, Earls court.. the knebworth show is amazing!!! thats what is REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey servo if sloppy means fame and fortune then u is doin something wrong

i bet you havent been famous or even semi famous but u sure have a big fuckin mouth

you prob work at 7 -11 ya fuckin loser

  • jimmy PAGE is so far superior than others....good or bad times : god

  • the ying and the yang : Page and Plant

  • I prefer the version played at Madison Square Garden, but is however good.

  • But he's JP and he wrote it and he can play any intrpretation he feeels at the moment

  • i personally enjoy the sloppy style because it keeps it authentic sounding..i love jimmy page and his style of playing...if i never heard him i would have never picked up a guitar...i just really like the more sloppy sounding stuff...

  • Jimmy Page "f*ck" so well, but only Hendrix can make it cum !

  • I love you plant

  • Robert plant is the best

  • @drnapls2 YOU SUCK

  • @drnapls2 If they suck then why did you search them up? fucking dumb ass. you're sad.

  • @drnapls2 really? so who does not suck in your opinion?

  • @servo1056 Pink Floyd, AC/DC, ZZ TOP.

  • This is one of the best all-time versions of SIBLY, period. Page and Plant define light and shade here. Fantastic!

  • hendrix: better rhythm playing, page: better at everything else

  • he's playing sloppy because they're his damn songs and he can play them however he pleases.

  • @hinney827 i think he plays that sloppy because of the heroin....listening back to 70-73 concerts they're far better

  • @ledzepguitarcovers my comment was directed more along the lines of: who are you to say his playing is sloppy? he wrote the songs, and he plays them (in my eyes) exactly how he wants to every time. his playing is always full of feeling, and that can never be sloppy.

  • @hinney827 that's what i'm talking about, these are his own songs, but generally in 79 he was under heroin,so his playing wasn't good as iy was in earlier concerts.and there's no much feeling as the earlier lives

  • @hinney827 It's SLOPPY- not as bad as other late performances, but if you were to critique it honestly by "Jimmy Page" standards of earlier days, it's sloppy. I personally enjoyed the solo, which ripped, and was honestly the best thing I've heard from him during that era. When I started my post, I had only heard the mis-timed intro, but once he got into the song, I must say that I was shocked that he was capable of that type of performance at that stage of his career. What a freaking rock star

  • Page could play circles around Hendrix on a bad day

  • @prober45 no way anyone plays circles around hendrix.they were both the best.

  • Knebworth is maybe not their best performance but it's really gooooooood. And they played a lot of songs. Very interesting.

  • jimmy stoned again

  • led zeppelin with all the problem, controversy, and critics they got...i still love them

  • looks like jimmy didnt played guitar in 15 days before this concert. stills being great but like sloppy

  • @frotenberguen hes playing sloppy cause hes strungout

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhh awesomeeeeeeeeee can't take this awesomnesss anymore....

  • @17ledzep yes, jimmy page is in fact the best human guitarrist... (jimi hendrix is not human)

  • @Necrolinable Why Hendrix wasn't human??

  • @thementebr54 hahahaha yea your right about that...he was a beast! lol

  • @Necrolinable I disagree....He is great, and the combination of the entire band, made them legends that have my respect...but he was far from the best. Im going to guess, that you have a limited music list.

  • @Necrolinable yeah mate Hendrix was human cos he died. It's a major human frailty.

  • @Necrolinable ofc not, he's black

  • fkkin brilliant....anyone who says anythin else has no soul whatsoever...and who gives a fk what drugs they took...not one of their detractors could ever come close to doin and achievin what these four guys did...

    rock n roll....i salute ya..:D:D...

  • fantastic, jimmy page the best, plant also fantastic and best singer

  • for anyone whos saying its different then MSG 73 you are right, from 77 on to the 80's tour, it was a slower more blusier styled song with hints of Tea For One in it. He did it on purpose, not because he lost skill. and from 79 on to the 80 tour he extended the solo , so basically it was two solos , first usually starting out slower and by then end of the second time around it built up in intensity.

  • I love the bosa nova bet from the song. The best ever.

  • That was outstanding.

  • Im a big big zep fan and i was there at the time and locking back i do remember the show was a bit loose but listening to this ..........its bad ...very .. bad ..i do feel sorry for Robert

  • fantastic

  • Comment removed

  • You all try playing this damn song. THEN, try playing it crackpot drunk, high, or F'ed up... then you can diss Jimmy Page. I think he did good for being as messed up as he supposedly was.

  • there has never been, nor will ever be a better guitarist than Jimmy Page!!

  • uéééééééééé.... do caralhooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.. e viva a loucura DE JIME PAGE E A LEOA... ROBERT. PLANTA.... QUE MUSICA ERA ESTA MESMO? H´[A... LEMBRTEI,,,, MAS SERÁ.... OU NÃO É OUTRA PARECIDA... DEIXA PRA LÁ... MUITO BOM.....

  • I love led zepp.....but to be honest this was almost a piece of shit.....on this concert for me jimmy was 60 %......good.....he wasn't the same

  • He played bits of the Tea For One solo :)

  • Wow!!!

Kick ass! I like it on piano better! Go Jonsey

  • said the drugs wore them down at this stage... the 1973 version at madison square garden is a completely different song...

  • what the fuck is wrong with jimi's solo? he's high or something, he plays it a lot better in the record

  • This was the 70's before people started miming.

  • There has never been and will never be another band like Zeppelin.....

  • god this is so great

  • i love the style of jimmy page i love his feeling

  • page is kinda bad here, compared to the studio version or the '73 MSG version. i guess the heroin really fucked him up

  • @thevacuumable It's not bad, it's just not his absolute best.

  • That must be a drag,7-11 thats only 4 hours work each evening.A person would need more working hours than that..JUST KIDDING,BEST SONG EVER.

  • Love this music soo much it makes me horny lol it's that sensual.

  • MAGIC

  • All you fucking idiots don't know nothing about music.... This is the best song ever played

  • @willyzapa but its played shit

  • what a fucking great song zeppelin for life man.

  • Plant is awesome here! I dunno why people rag on his '79 voice. Least he wasn't a stumbling tool like Page ...

  • there no words about this song!

  • I'm gonna get hate for this, but I really don't like Robert Plant LIVE until this show. FUCK YOU, I said it.

  • Guys don't hate its his opinion

  • dammit, thank you!

  • alright..............BITCH

  • Not even 70-72?

  • he's been working from 7 to 11, it's really a drag!

  • . i know you don't think that's right .. I've learned from the best, the best of fools

  • its roberts fucking fault his voice isnt prestige here!!

  • he`s had two surgeries for throat polyps,of course he`s lost a lotta power and range from touring too much as well, too bad he had a great voice

  • he had ac old htat was bad and the doctor said stop the tour or your vocals will be bad and unrepearable i read it in a zep book i have

  • Plant had two surgeries in mid-70`s for throat polyps,FreddieMercury refused the surgery and kept his vocal strength and range,

  • Well he loved pot.. BUT WHO DOESN'T!

  • haha damn right

  • agreed. his voice was AMAZING in the late 60's and started to loose it toward the 80's. Still rocks!!!!

  • page was off

hands down one of my favourite pieces of music, and one of my favourite guitarists, but no doubt he was in rough shape.

  • well you know when you been playing the same song for ten years evry night its hard to keep up the enthusiasm

  • sentito sto pezzo.....

  • is jimmy the best?

  • yes but not by far

  • Jimmy still makes my heart go pitter patter

  • fag

  • @17ledzep absolutely man!!!!!!!!!!

  • @17ledzep yes of course !!!

  • @17ledzep yes, jimmy is the best.

  • we just had the 100 rock guitarist survey here in one of the rock radio in israel, hendrix first, page second, klapton 3rd

  • @gadix11 thats the perfect order dude/ imo would put gilmour in third. Hendrix then page then gilmour.. thats the beauty of tru emusic you cant judge them there all diffrent personalitys and all amazing at what they do just got to learn

  • ok for all of you its PAGE not PAIGE

and just in case you can spell Zeppelin right its ZEPPELIN not ZEPPLIN or any other way

it pisses me off when people cant spell it right

  • zEpPeLiN is this right?

  • I know, it kinda pisses me off too!!!!

    Jimmy Paige Led Zepplin,

Yeah, it pisses me off too!!!!!!!!!

  • that didnt make any sense, retard.

  • dude the greAtest musicians and guitarist of all times were drug addicts, john frusciante of red hot chilipeppers, jimmypaig of zeppelin, randyrhoads of ozzzy osbourne, jimi hendrix, slash and a lot of more, because of drugs they hallucinate things that they think its impossible to do but look theyr fucking legends

  • randy rhoads wasnt a drug addict, ozzy was though

  • yeah, your right.

  • your an idiot.

  • lol you are dumb, such an ignorant post.

  • addicts and users differ. kurt was an addict. jimi wasnt. for the most part, i agree with you though.

  • really i always thought he was

  • You can just hear his voice isnt nearly as good as late 60s and early 70s. His voice is ok here, but he could seriously ROCK before he started losing his voice.

  • He may have lost his voice, but at least he hasn't lost those wonderful golden locks of hair!!!!

  • a definite love makin song

  • mi dad also went 2 a zep concert in 1977 at msg

  • i like the 1977 version the best bc thats when zep reached there peak and plus i have tons of bootlegs

  • Antonella I Since i've been lovin' you!!!!

  • are we sure robert was'nt hittn the needle

  • he stopped after his son died

  • jimmy did the greatest job on the guitar than anyone ever. even on heroin.

  • yea but also the heroin is limiting jimy paiges true potential so people if you get famous dont do heroin tht shit always f''s everyone up and everything

  • no way as good as 73

  • I don't know why people are always feeling that it's necessary to point out Page's heroin addiction on every single Led Zeppelin video on Youtube. YEAH. We know. He did heroin. Big fucking deal. He's still Jimmy Page and he sounds mighty fine as far as I'm concerned.

  • good comment . i love jimmy he is the greatest

  • yea imagine if heroin killed paige then there would be no masterpieces so dont say its a not a big deal jimy did heroin

  • He didn't do heroin; heroin did him!

  • @ludwigvan17 your right thats true but listen to this song in a 73 concert and tell me whats better

  • Comment removed

  • @ludwigvan17 i understand what you mean its like whole different style he had...its hard to explain but ya i know where your coming from lol

  • @ludwigvan17 yea i agree, but you have to admit it is baddd here i mean listen to thie intro

  • @juggHERnutt this intro is good man

  • @juggHERnutt c'mon im sure u would be playing the same way if you were in his position. hes played the song for 9 years, hes just being unique. O and think about how much heroin and how much he drank before this concert.

  • @amast3rMind69 ohh hell yea he was probably soo out of it, i hav the dvd of this concert and hejust looks goofy through out the whole show, but it dosent mean i dont love the man

  • @juggHERnutt yea man

  • @ludwigvan17 knebworth was one of their best events after 73

  • Comment removed

  • @ludwigvan17 Im totally with you on this, im just tired of hearin stuff like that.. Anyway, in this show you can see him smokin a lot, thats actually because he started to quit heroin.. I mean, he realized that the heroin started to affect his preformance live. Jimmy is one of the greatest guitarist in the history of the world, I really admire him. Btw, i started to play guitar because of him haha

  • rough start i see wy it wasnt on the dvd... like a few other songs

  • You have to wonder what's going through Plant's mind. He knows Jimmy is totally smacked out and playing like crap. But, the show's gotta go on and all that..

  • Yeah, I read somewhere that Bobby wasn't pleased with Jimmy at this point. Too F'ed up and too many goofs.

  • Bobby? Do you mean Bonham? lol If not who??

  • he probably means plant. bob is short for robert... bobby plant. haha thats my guess

  • great fucking song and greatest band ever!!

  • god bless you . you are so right.

  • who the hell cares about what the was on. they are still in the top 3 rock n roll bands ever. one of the best. and always sound good.

  • Workin from 7 to 11 every night....been floatin so long and so high...seems life's a drag-long and slow

  • was jimmy wasted or something, or he usually plays in that way in live =S

  • He's totally smacked here, check out the versions on The Song Remains the Same and How The West Was Won, he was great then.

  • yeah those songs are great

  • @kingknopfler either those ones or anything from the late 60's

  • no.......he was awesome....but in this concert he was on heroin thats sad

  • yeah I saw another gigs as the one when he plays with clapton and beck and hes so thin and he plays a bit odd. A shame, anyway his studio albums are great and the concert in the mden square garden I think is the best =)

  • I love robert plant and jimmy

led zep always...it does not matter how they are........they are human....

  • You think like me ...aI agree....

  • Sounds sloppy because jimmy page was Fucked Up on 45cc of Mexican Black Tarr Herion, perfectly Adjusted too he;s Blood type. Type O. During intermisson he would get another fix by hes road manger Richard todd, Rest in Peace.

  • how do you know what type of heroin he was on?

  • good performance...but damn, the guitar is quite sloppy, with the great feeling, but still very sloppy, not as good as i expected...i think the best performance of this song is 1973,maddison square garden...

  • you are right. jimmy was stoned .

  • my advice is watch the dvd of this.....much better

  • totally

  • Well, either when he was fucked up, or sober, he still was a sloppy guitarist, but he made shit happen.
