Those movies did poorly because they look like shit. I'm a nerd but I don't feel like I have to watch every movie starring some skinny white kid. Tech TV will never come back because the producers only want money, and if you want money you go after the masses. People like us have to rely on blogs and such now.

I know that someone at G4 must read these comments. We express how disappointed we are with G4's current programming and how we long for the perfection of TechTV again but it just seems like they don't care and it kind of hurts. It just goes to prove that you can't make money if you're marketing to nerds and that's all they can do to stay on the air I guess. Proof of that comes from how poorly movies like Kick Ass and Scott Pilgrim Did.

My history school teacher used to let me watch this during our hour-long lunch break. I always loved TechTV, G4 sucked the life RIGHT OUT of the whole goddamn network. Extended Play used to actually get me excited about games.

extended play was a tad more serious than x-play. i will agree that x-play was funny as shit, but now with the g4 nazis cracking their whips, it's nothing more than a waste of air time.

Not exactly a waste of air time because xplay brings in exponentially more viewers and therefore more money than extended play. Just cos you don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't do exactly what it's intended to, i.e. make money, entertain, inform, etc.

It's not even a matter of opinions. It's fact that extended play started with little viewers, like most television shows do. Extended play had game reviews with more detail, rather than just broad statements that x-play makes. X-play was an upgrade for tech tv, but after the merger with G4, it's gone downhill...

Yeah the show used to be all about games, no more no less. It was great when this show was able to get through 5 or 6 game reviews in one show, but now they get through only 2 or 3, I've stopped watching the show almost altogether because it's a bunch of cheap jokes and unreliable game reviews.
