  • The guy at 4:36 played in a gay movie called "The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green" He played Ethan ex. The movie was based off a comic strip.

  • So what they didn't allow gay kisses on tv before 2000? That's stupid -.-

  • Lol XD love the desperate housewives one XD

  • Joseph Bottoms was/is? so hot, wish he'd changed his last name though!

  • yay go jack

  • 4:29 what a jip fuck no action what so ever o well 6 years last the was Queer as Folk. Im a lesbian but hey i do like to see kissing when its good..

  • 1:32 EWWW the man gave the other man codees..

  • Thank for sharing this. I really like it :)

  • Censored by fox! Well fox can kiss my ass! Why censor a completely natural innocent kiss, just because it happens to be between two guys. If it was two women kissing the at the time mainly male executives would I'm sure be more willing to see that, no doubt!

    And mini rant over.

Doug Savant is my new crush I don't care if he's old enough to be my father, he is F.A.F - Fit As Flip!

    That is all. :)

  • last but not least my fave show brothers and sisters yes!!!!!!

  • what episode is melrose place scene from ?

  • Realization-where do u get these shows eastenders & emerdale?

  • Yep-we've come a long way but there's still a long way to go!

  • Hot man cocks!!!

  • it gets better every year.. we came a long ways..

  • loved brothers and sisters the best...the characters were beautifully potrayed..

  • Those clips from the 80's are painful to watch xD

  • OK, We've evolved. Maybe in 25 years we'll reach full equality.

  • omg rivers reaction 1.29 haha <3

  • @IsabellWay I was like "Oh great, he's been tainted...or aroused. hmmm." Random

  • Omg! The 80's really know how to kill a girl! What's with all the censoring and the door shutting!?!?!

This was really cute!!!!! Kevin and Scotty are sooooo adorable! :D

  • nice video. Looking forward to the next version with 90210's teddy and ian kiss.

  • It just keeps getting better!

  • OMG, the guy with the horn-rimmed glasses from Heroes!

  • Haha omg no way is that River Phoenix! xD

I love and miss him daily :[ <3

  • Most beautiful scene's i have ever seen one of these days i will have a special moment like these :)

  • omg! isn't that "paul williams" from THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS!!! (if only "cricket" knew LOL

  • All in all, my mother was very similar with me in how Bree was with Andrew. The fact was she knew about it, but just needed to see it to know it was a fact.

  • Well it took 30 years but they finally got there. The last two clips really are the only ones that dont make your cringe, the early ones are painful to watch.

  • Im sorry but american actors are so bloody cheesy! its painful to watch. If you want a good gay storyline watch eastenders or emmerdale thats great acting and a great storyline not this shit!!!

  • Love is love.

  • Doug Davidson in "I'll Take Manhattan" WOWZA!

  • the guy in 3:22 is hot hot hot i want him really bad!! =D what's his name?

  • I love the Desperate Housewives scene! The mother's reaction is hilarious.

  • I am actually stunned that as late as 1994 the US wasn't ready for two men kissing.

  • I remembered cracking up with laughter at Bree in DH when she discovered Andrew was gay

  • ahhhhhhhhhh yea damn producers no gay kiss b4 1994 prudes

  • Yes. We've grown. Oh, dear!?!?

  • Wonderful!

  • GO GAYS!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • LOL

I found Tom of the DW in the MP haha

  • nice compilation. I didn't know about all these characters!

  • I´m from Rio, that was elected the best gay destination of the world recently, Rio is famous for the amazing Carnival that we make, the city stops for 4 days of dance, food, sex, drugs (i´m not hypocrite) , Rio is a sunny and dazzling place! São Paulo, Brazil´s ( And South America) largest metropolis, 3rd largest of the world, largest than New York, has the largest gay parade of the world (4 million people)...

  • is funny or tragic that in Brazil gay relationships still are a taboo. Amazing is to think that Brazil is the largest soap opera producer of the world, the country of parties, carnival... and still so puritan, so narrow minded when this subject is aborted. In Brazilian TV gays are constantly a funny figure, in comedies, but never threaded seriously like in USA.

  • Brazil is one of the worlds largest economies, with lots of Billionaires (called Brazillionaires by the cartoon The Simpsons) and yet has poverty, in famous Copacabana Beach there lots of five star super luxury hotels, a frontline penthouse can easily reach 10 million dollars and close to the hills there are some small slums!

  • São Paulo is a gigantic city but yet we have Amazon, the largest forest of the world, Brazil has a huge European community (the gorgeous supermodel Gisele Bundchen is an example) with lots of blonde and blue eyes Brazilians

  • and we have also Indians, Afrobrazilians (the great Pelé is an example), Japanese (São Paulo has the largest Japanese community outside of Japan) and there never been a gay kiss in Brazilian TV... Yeh, i guess Brazil is really a nation of contrasts! And that makes of it so delicious, exotic, exciting!!!!!!!!!! Love Brazil but WHERE IS THE GAY KISS IN BRAZILIAN TV ?

  • I don't really watch tv so... can you tell me more what is or not Prime time soaps? Like what about those like Guiding light or As the world turn, what kind of soaps are they. And I see Desperate housewives heres, so this mean Grey's Anatomy must fill in these. There was an episode with the gay soldiers in season 4, can they make the cut here?

  • We've come a long way!

  • I always hated the way gays are portrayed on american television

always seemed so unnatural to me (the way they are portrayed - NOT the fact that they are gay)

  • @atomus Howso? i actually feel quite opposite :P 'Cept of the fact that you never see very flamboyant gays in tv serieses...

  • @atomus you should see the way it is here in Brazil... gay couples on TV don't even touch each other's face, we only know they're couples because they say so, coz there has NEVER been any display of affection in Brazlian shows... that's very sad!

  • @atomus Nice save.

  • that is real passion 3:30

  • In Melrose, is the blondey fella in Desparate Housewives?

  • Yes is Him.....is a great actor right?

  • Yes it is him! I've checked on is description career list and the talk about it. Apperently, there was an actuall kiss to be showned but Fox removed it on the aired episode.

  • hey, in the dynasty clip, that's Noah, from Heroes!

  • Thank you for the video.

  • For the last scene I would choose the proposal, not the fake marriage.

  • Bree cracks me up

  • We better be quiet and not to tell Lynette that her husband Tom is gay in Desperate Housewives!

  • @Scrabbler27 Tom's not gay. Desperate Housewives is coming to an end in 2012 they better make their minds up lol!!

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this video so much!!!! Melrose Place (the original 90s version, but the new one is good too) was (and still is) one of my favorite soap operas. I was actually upset when FOX-TV network decided to censor out the 1st man-on-man kiss (obviously they were too chicken to air it, due to the derogatory and demanding letters FOX-TV were receiving). I will always love Dynasty (Steven Carrington was my favorite!!!). Thanks for uploading this!!! 5 stars & faved :-D

  • Give us more! give us more!

  • thank you so much for posting this gay-themed clips. It has really made my day. Got anymore?

  • i recognize noah in dynasty (HRG) but whos the other guy ?

  • Kevin and Scotty are the Best couple EVER!

  • Actually, the first gay kiss was in "Wasteland" (from the creator of "Dawson's creek") in 1999. But ABC stopped the broadcating before the end of the first season and the gay kiss was seen later on cable, after the kiss of "Dawson's creek".

  • Seriously!! 2000 was the first kiss?!

    Genuinely surprised by that.

According to BBC, we (UK) had the first gay kiss in one of the top soaps (Eastenders) in 1987! And first kiss in a childrens programme (Byker Grove) in 1994!

Though I think the first proper kiss (on the lips) wasn't till 1989, on Eastenders with same characters.

    Nice video though x

  • meeeee 222 =o

  • That one clip was almost enough to make me want to watch desperate housewives... almost

  • hahahaha... hrg looked so hot....

  • Very nice!

  • great post! =)

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

  • luv it!!

  • LOLOLOLOL @ the first clip where the boy looks in.............. AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!! It's like Reefer Madness, but for us queer dudes!!! So epic.

  • I know right? I'm LOVING the ominous music too. dun Dun DUN, oh noes he saw teh gayyyyy secks!

  • I figured they were just kissing at that point.... made it way more hilarious! hahahah

  • wow - paul from Y & R was so young - not much into blonds- but dammm he was/is sexy.

  • I think he's still very sexy now

  • It took so many years to see 2 men kissing each other... somewhat ironic when you know many actors and actresses in hollywood were bisexual (Marlon Brando, James Dean, Cary Grant, Burt Lancaster, Hedy Lamarr, Barbara Stanwick, Marlene Dietrich and so many many others!) Hollywood with a big H, just like in hypocrisis ;)

  • thx so much for posting

  • Hey, LBColby, good use of the annotations. This is the first time I kept them on to get some trivia.

  • we are progressing thanks God.

  • Brothers & Sisters is awesome!

I wish my family were more like the Walkers.

  • yeah, I think whatever soap is, the greatest thing to me that I can see my world much more and more on TV. Ur work is much appreciated.

  • excellent compliation. Thanks.

  • It's cool seeing Doug Savant playing a gay character. I only know him from Desperate Housewives.

I do recall a lesbian kiss on LA Law. I think that was the first time on TV if I'm not mistaken.

  • I would say, the first 'gay' moment I can remember from my childhood is the sequence of 'Celebrity' with River Phoenix seeing two men together (even though the viewer doesn't) and reacting to it. And then there was also 'Death in Venice' by Luchino Visconti.

  • as the old saying goes....."you've come a long way, baby!". Thanks LB! Maybe someday, we'll get there.

  • Great compilation. If you ever do a sequel to this, don't forget one of the first gay moments on tv, "That Certain Summer" an ABC movie of the week from '72. Starred Hal Holbrook and a very young Martin Sheen as lovers.

  • Good montage, but you forgot one of the MAJOR moments - in the show Thirtysomething

  • Progress!

  • Great Video! Thanks!
