What Rashad said about going toe to toe is something I've always said. People that prefer to watch fighters going toe to toe don't know much about mma. To me, a fight is far more exciting watching someone with a great game plan and execute it perfectly, rather than watching someone go in throwing fists randomly. I hate watching fights like that. Chris Lytle comes to mind. Thats why he's never consistent with his wins. GSP may not always finish a fight, but he's always damn exciting to watch.

But the main issue has been addressed: in mma you need to have game-plan involving a multi-dimensional fighting "portfolio", and that's what rashad perfectly executed in his fight against Rampage and deservedly won. Back then, when you're takedown was stuffed ironically it was wrestlers that scrampbled to get on their feet because their face was being smashed in by head stomps or soccer kicks. What Rashad said about going toe to toe is something I've always said. People that prefer to watch fighters going toe to toe don't know much about mma. To me, a fight is far more exciting watching someone with a great game plan and execute it perfectly, rather than watching someone go in throwing fists randomly. I hate watching fights like that. Chris Lytle comes to mind. Thats why he's never consistent with his wins. GSP may not always finish a fight, but he's always damn exciting to watch.

@jinmishima86 u take very little into account urself. there is a reason he has only lost once. he does not have as many holes as rampage and has more then one dimension. he simply had the wrong strategy againts machida. he did not set up a single takedown. poor decisions on his part. he didnt do wut got him there. machida can not wreslte nearly as good as rashad. but rashad didnt wrestle him. rashad willw restle shogun and mix up his boxing and takedowns like he shuld. he hz a good chance to win

I like rampage but he does make excuses for his loses. I remember him explaining why he got whooped by wanderlei twice instead of just being humble in defeat. Same thing gsp did after his loss to serra. ortiz with chuck,etc. Rashad is right on point.

He didnt give up.. the round ended.. he fought his way backup. If ANYBODY would end a fight it wouldve been rampage and that showed when he didnt wana be in range after the first punch he got in. If you talk like a man dont fight like a wrestler, everybody knew Rashad was gonna wrestle Rampage and thats why i think Rashad shouldve kept his mouth shut.

I couldn't agree more with everything Rashad said. He tried to finish the fight and most of you people seem to be forgetting that Rashad rocked him in the first round. But the main issue has been addressed: in mma you need to have game-plan involving a multi-dimensional fighting "portfolio", and that's what rashad perfectly executed in his fight against Rampage and deservedly won. So why is he getting booed is completely beyond me.

We all have favorite styles of fighting within the umbrella of arts allowed by MMA,but a TRUE MMA FAN can AND WILL APPRECIATE TRUE SKILL PERIOD...EVEN IF IT'S NOT IN OUR PREFERRED STYLE OF FIGHTING.
