Great post modern look at ennui. The juxtaposition of sunshine and a dour disposition foreshadowed a crossroads moment. The filmmaker keenly captures the dilemma of a parvenu generation grappling with the wreckage of boomer generation absorption. What matters? Who matters? And how do I matter? The music gives two messages - first the ding before we see the scene is the proverbial big bang after which everything changes and secondly the melody is both portentous and hopeful, keeping the view
Great take on postmodern ennui. The dour expression juxtapositioned by the sun splashed environs. Seemingly perfect manifestation of Bloom's Taxonomy. The highest levels of cognitive & affective reasoning resulting in what I call proto-motor response. What are you gonna do with what you've learned? Music sets tone, hearing ding before there is any light or visual, the creative big bang establishing a language most universal & translatable. Masterful use of pacing, life's short make it count.
This video is well done. I loved Jack (from Jack in the Box) on the back wall after the protagonist leaves the building. Hopefully your not treading on any toes or engaging in copyright infringement.
Mad props go to JoeJoe Bear for making this video possible. To think he wasn't even at the award show!
The editing was fairly simple, with the help of Kevin Refermat is went very smoothly! Did it in one sitting.
But the editing is much easier when you have an organized shot list and you know what you want to see. A couple of the shots that I think made it were completely on a whim.
