I like that you go into this, because I call myself genderqueer, mainly because I am not sure how I feel about going through any sort of transition. I myself had just tried chest binding and in the hour and half that it stayed together, I had a hard time figuring out how I felt about it. It felt nice but at the same time, it made the rest of this whole thing more real to me. I feel like I am passing all the time, as either gender, and it is like I can't do both. Congrats on the new girl.

It's really interesting how people in the gay community, when you're at places such as a gay bar, will automatically assume you're gay or assume you're straight and question why you're there.

I'm a straight female who is pretty masculine in appearance, so in a gay setting I get a similar reaction of people automatically assuming I'm lesbian or when I say I'm straight people being like, "well then why are you here?" It just seems so strange to me. Why can't every community just be accepting?

now that you mentioned that it's not just trans problem. that's been pretty big issue for me as a straight guy. several people come to me like "you're gay right?" or something more in a negative way and then i just have to say "thanks for the compliment but no i'm not gay" i'm just never going to be extremely masculine or butch that's expected from straight guys but at the age of 23 i'm cool with it and don't get stressed out from it anymore
