Nice comments here. I ate supper with the man many times. I was friends with some peeps in his Band. He was Okay by me. Ate at my Sis's ....whatever...PeaceLoveBlues.....spread the news.....
Anybody know what year this was ?.... Please, please, please, if any of you fellow Blues Peeps ever see a vid with Buster Benton, will you let me know !!
Well! I dont think even David Beckham would have worn that jacket! But Mr D still looks good=) Amazing how many big blues tunes he has put together. Terrific artist and bass player as well.
Not only is W.Dixon a great Bassman, blues composer of some of the most important blues ever heard, but he can wear a pink jacket and look great in it! If I did that,I'd look ridicolous.
Pero no sólo bluesman: The Doors, Ten Years After, The Rolling Stones, y tantos otros!!
I saw Willie Dixon and Chicago Blues All Stars In Sydney Australia (Horden Pavilion) in the 70's - best concert I've EVER been to. The harmonica player was something else.
God Bless the Stones, but nobody sang Red Rooster better than Howlin Wolf. Just my opinion, but Dixon wrote the heck of it and Wolf sang the heck out of it.
God Bless you too.....sorry, but I prefer the Stones' variant, firstly the studio version, then secondly the 'Flashpoint' concert CD version, with Eric Clapton!!!!! It's just my opinion, too..... (HU)

This is from I'm The Blues!
Dix is just too advanced, he understood music in much & more sophisticated and advanced way than his peers! , he wasnt a mere Blues man at all.

Heard a few tracks sung by Willie Dixon, not the greatest blues singer.
But as a songwriter, he was the best!
