As with all Stravinsky, musical pulse is everything. I think this has a good pulse and as pointed out this is a musically pretty crisp performance. The staging is bloody awful here though - stiff, uncoordinated, and totally joyless. But it's a work of genius and Stravinsky's own favourite.

Can't comment on the staging, but Les Noces is a work of utter genius (and Stravinsky's own favourite of all his works), so I'm grateful this has been posted.

I'm afraid it's less than impeccable. The company failed to call onto a Royal Ballet regisseur to stage the work. When it comes to Les Noces, the Royal Ballet continues being the reference to the work. There is a recording of the company dancing the work in the seventies which still remains the reference to watch. Unfortunately it's not available commercially. But it is worth noting that in that recording the tempos are faster than in the more recent version.
Music here is much crisper and more lively than the Royal Ballet recording also on youtube. Know next to nothing about dance, can't speak to its quality. It's the Mariinsky though so I'll assume impeccable.
