I actually went looking for video of this guy, which I had heard about from friends of mine. I can't believe I found it on YouTube! I really want you to post the entire video, or whoever has a copy should. Not exactly an example of classic mountain storytelling, but it's an excellent example of how the people from my home can make anything interesting to talk about. Thanks so much for tugging at my heartstrings!
PLEASE post the whole thing! "They're at the bottom of that lake." "I can't tell you! It's a secret society!" "You come back Friday night... Old Man Thompson's boy, Tommy." "They either said they wanted a lot of me or a lobotomy."
I cant remember where it was but somewhere up around King Street, I remember walking and seeing an old '70s-ish yellow Suzuki dirt bike chained to a bike rack with a football helmet hanging on the handle bar, still running! Some guy (and I really believe it was this guy!) came up and hopped on and took off down King Street. That image has stuck in my head for 13 years and this video just brought it right back like it was yesterday. Thanks for posting!
Didn't that guy get arrested for joyriding golf carts into ravines out near Blowing Rock? All I remember is reading about it in the newspaper and police finding wrecked golfcarts with soiled seats and his social security card wedged under one of the seats...

Briarman was also known to show up at rock concerts and drunkenly attempt to play the drums. I've seen footage!

This is not the directors cut! I want to see the full Briarman documentary. I have a copy on VHS but I'm not sure how to get it to You Tube.
"I've seen aliens up here... strange looking women..."
"That was the hard part getting Briarseeds"
