  • Hello-

    The difference between Thomas and Rectus Femoris is that with Thomas you are observing whether or not the affected thigh moves off the table indicating hip flexor tightness (specifically iliopsoas)as opposed to rectus femoris contracture test which if positive involves the knee of the affected leg moving into extension.

  • This looks exactly like your Thomas test... Why? Because Thomas' test is supposed to be done with both legs on the table before flexing the unaffected leg up...
