  • This is a FS Thunderbolt 1003.

  • Not only can you see where the cells were when it was a cop shop(Q14 cheers to those who know. Sláinte....if you're reading this and you don't pour one out for SiGuy then fuck you...)

  • Thunderbolt :)

  • The population is 5500 people, but it's a hub so we can serve up to 30, 000 people.

  • I'll be darned . A thunderbolt in Canada. I'm astonished.

  • That Tornado siren started it's life as a Air Raid siren I went to school there and remember when it was erected in the early eighties.

  • @rohagan1971 My Aunt and Uncle live near Stettler and my uncle said The County's Fire Department Activates it remotely by the phone lines with this phone line signal transmitter and at the siren theres a decoder, nowadays new sirens use computer automation and/or radio controllers. Anyway He said they now use it for Emergencies like Tornadoes, Wildfire Evacuations, and Flooding Evacuations.

  • My grandma lived right next to the school. I think you showed her house really quickly in one part

  • Red Deer doesn't even have a siren. :(

  • you guys are lucky. us in toronto dont have one yet. i wish they did. couple tornadoes already

  • btw i moved there. the siren is on the middle school field. And its soo awesome cuz i lived on 40th ave

  • Thunderbolt 1003 siren.

  • oh yeah that is definately a thunderbolt i can tell by the blower, and compressor motor housing

  • jks

  • fuck im moving here in 2010

  • When I was a kid, they used to fire that thing up and test it every few months...... it seemed like that kind of faded away after the fall of the U.S.S.R. Another neat fact... it's so high up on that pole, that it's barely audible from the school :D

  • Stettler licks balls...

  • @Buffrules totally agree cops are asshole full of old ppl and dicks

  • my last name is stettler ..where is this place so i can go claim it!

  • holy shit we do have a siren in alberta.lol. that make 3 i'v seen, 2 here in wainright alberta, and i think there is one more on main street in the clock tower, which may or may not be a whelen, can see it where it's in side the tower

  • Oh Where is Stetler. I live by the capital some city by it I havent seen one Siren anywhere. So i am surprised there one here

  • Stetler is located in Stetler County wich is bordering Flagstaff County to the south. But if yall don't know where either of these counties are, Stettler is just 1 or 2 hours east of Red Deer County line.

  • that is an ACA P-30 Hurricane Siren.

  • Thunderbolt 1003... -_-

  • um there's more than 1000 people in stettler, there's like 6000

  • Thats a dual tone Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1003. i knew we had them in Canada

  • That was the school, I live in stettler, to proove is the mayer is Mrs.Hunters husband.

    Mrs.Hunter is a grade 2 teacher

  • I heard this one go off once when I was living in grandview, Stettler (about 2 miles away). it was the middle of summer on a beautiful day, scared the shit outta me, turned out just to be a test though.

  • I've been to Stettler, love it! Day 1: arrived too late for KFC, Day 3: did Wal*Mart and Boston Pizza. It's a nice midwesterny-feeling town.

Why is Boston Pizza so frickin' expensive?

  • It Depends who owns the franchise, also it varies from County to County.

  • Yeah. In one picture, you can make out one of the solenoids. :) :)

  • So far as that I kow is 2 of them, but i can't Identify the other one.

  • What does the other one look like? I, or a lot of other people, may be able to help you with that.

  • Every town in Alberta has one, right? Would there still be sirens in towns where you wouldnt expect many severe storms, like in Hinton, or Fort McMurray?

  • Well Fort McMurray Probably but for them mor along the lines of forrest fires to alert for evacuation. But is Hinton in the mountains cause if it is there probably won't be but if in the foothills maybe.

  • No siren sounds.

  • We were there on December 23rd, but if we were there on the day of there testing I gess. but I don't know when the County does the siren testing.

  • This is technically a Thunderbolt 1003.

  • That thunderbolt siren looks awesome. Thunderbolts rule, I tell you. :D

  • that's actually a Thunderbolt 1003. This is a dual toned 3 signal siren. The bowtie looking assembly begind the horn contains 2 solenoid operated slide valves, which enable the sirne to produce either an alternating hi-lo (like a british police car) or a pulsed signal. a 1000 lacks the "bowtie" behind the horn.

  • Darn, I was expecting to see a tornado event.

  • Not until mid June up here to September.

  • @mesedrew I live in stettler!! maby i know u?

  • those things freak me out lol
