when it stopped working i cried my eyes out because it was the best computer i had ever used in all my life. The dv9500 i'm typing on now pales in comparison to the allmighty dv5000...

I got that HP it really sucks! Overheat problem. CD drive broke, Mouse broke, very heavy, cant run GTA IV, touch sound button dont wirk. sound problem, cant have more that 4 internet explorer open it just crash and shut down shot battery time. Long time startup, HP SUCKS!

no, it's a graphics chipset. What it does, essentially, is takes the system's RAM to produce the video image. Not recommended for gaming, unless you're planning on older ones before 2006.

yeah, sure dude" if it wasent for the HEUGE HEATING PROBLEM!!!.. i hate this computer its the worst notebook i ever had., firts heating problem, that u cant resolve neither with an extern fan, then, the fail safe mode" when u turn it on, then , it doesnt catch any wireless signal, and finaly the screen dead!!.. if that is the best notebook for that price, that is not THAT cheap... i don´t know whats left for the rest...:S

ack the stupid intel video card. Getting the 1099nr model from bestbuy since it has a 9600M GT I don't care what kind of wireless it has as long it works for the net and gaming. :)

i've had this laptop for 4 months now and the touch panel at the top sucks, it only work half the time and my mute button stays on all the time i haft to manually turn it off, help if you know what im doing wrong? oh and the all silver is not that great if you are OCD like me and hate fingerprints :D

i had the same problem, but it turned out i only had to have the remote controll in the port or whats its called when ur using the touch pad. if that doesent work i dont know.

I have a Dv5 but it has an AMD X2 and ATI 512MB

and i dont have a blue ray.. may be the newer versions have blue ray?

My battery life sucks, i only get 1:1/2hrs of bat life.. sucks.. but its good for gameing though..

I have the same laptop as you, and we definitely have the better laptop due to the higher processor and better graphics card. We do have a great laptop though!!!

i dint get the dv5 because its bigger but i did get the dv4 with 9200mgs and when i turned it on it has about 5 dead pixels on the screen. i will never buy an hp product again and am sticking with toshiba(i have the qosmio G20 and have used it for 3 years and still no problems)
