@SimonD157 Yes.. my GF has that song on some compilation CD that she used to play in the car all the time, and the Mee Panda song got stuck in my head. Very cool that you recognized it!
@wolf432: Yes, that's already been pointed out.. and I countered that at even 2 feet shorter, it's still WAY too tall, and barely making under the bridges and overpasses. But thanx for pointing it out again. :-)
Simple things like this is why I love countries that aren't set up like North America and Europe. These things just give you a good laugh and it's one of those things were you say "Only back home"
@Austinmcadams78 .. It's a comic Thai song, a quite well known one, at that. Just because YOU dont know that, doesnt mean it's not a good choice for this video. Jeez.
dont be too amazed there buddy!, i saw a truck just as over loaded as the one on your video driving down on the I10 fwy near LA! lol driver also got pulled over by CHP!
A bit too much on the truck.. but the idea is not uncommon really - i was born in Sapporo and growing up i saw many over-loadings especially of small trucks like in this video - deadlines and budgets some times make people attempt this.. i can remember watching a family of 5 people riding 1 bicycle every week to the park.. not a special bicycle, not circus performers.. just a family that wanted to enjoy the park together but could only afford 1 bicycle.
@onlypresto: Trust me.. these overpiled vehicles rarely get too far, before taking a turn (or even just changing a lane) too fast, and tip.. tip.. TIP.. BOOM! Down they go. And then, they dont go any further under their own power, cause they're layed out all over the effin highway, usually resulting in multi-car pileups.
This guy should be beaten to death , He could have killed lots of people , f***** dumbass !!! Are they stupid as this all around the world ?? You only see this in asia , africa , middle east and in south america , WTF ???
@moparholic2: Beaten to death might be a little harsh (since he didn't actually kill anyone).. but you're right, this is the act of an unintelligent person. The fact that they're unaware of the laws of physics is unfortunately coupled with a lack of fear of the laws of operating a motor vehicle. The laws arent enforced, so people have learned to just go ahead and do whatever they want. If you think this is bad, you should see how they ride a family of 5 on a moped, with no helmets. SMH.
@jonny12key I was not serious about '' to death ''.... Only overwhelmed by such stupid act... poverty is not an excuse for security anywhere else. If i would have cross the path of this idiot , i would have loose my cold blood for sure ... ( to stay politically correct...)
@dante04srt That's plausable. So perhaps the overall height is not quite 17.5'. I'll be generous, and hack 2 feet of the total; At 15.5', it's STILL taller than a London double-decker bus.
@offamychain: It certianly does look like it had to have moved, to accomdate that truck! As for the Buddha-worship; it seems to have worked on the overpass, but not so much on the cop. hehe.
Ok.. this is a video about trucks. And police. Let's keep the stupid 'ping pong ball' comments OUT of the equation, ok? I share my life with a wonderful girl, who is Thai, so, have a little RESPECT, please.
@allusernamestaken01: Hmm.. that's a good point; I'm not really sure why.. Maybe I was on a translating roll? Maybe it just made better temporal/relational sense (to have text appear for each narrated phrase).
@antakyusilo: Not sure where you're goin with that comment, but it appears to be nowhere good. Be thoughtfull please; My Thai girlfriend (who thinks this video is hilarious, BTW) reads the comments here.. Nuff said..?
@desertfox987: Who the fuck said that I didn't like driving here? I DO like driving here, and I LOVE the fact that I learned to drive in the USA, (where you cannot just give a bribe to the license tester if you fail your drving test), which means that I drive many times better than most Thais do. That leaves me in a position to COMPLAIN about stupid, dangerous activites on the roads of Thailand, so I just made a VDO so that other people could see how TERRIBLY IRRESPONSABLE some Thai drivers are.
@desertfox987: And, what are you proudly trying to defend? The Thai police that are more interested in puling over foriengers (to get some "tea money"), than stopping life-threatening activities on the highway (like 17' overloaded pickuptrucks)? How Thais really don't know how to drive (coz the ability to get a Thai driver's licence is only dependant on whether you slip the tester some money under the table)? Coz yeah, it sure is beautiful when a 17'er topples @ ludicrous speed, killing people??
@Hs0xhh: Well, I'll tell ya; I'm not a tourist. I actually LIVE in Thailand, & have to drive my car on roads with dangerous and irresponsible people like this truckdriver (who may hit me or my car, possibly destroying both of us). So, I TAKE IT PERSONALLY, and yes, this VDO is a COMPLAINT about BAD THAI PEOPLE, that do dangerous things that may hurt or kill me & my girlfriend. The smile on my face, is THE SAME FAKE SMILE that Thais use, when they're not happy, or cheat & lie, but still smiling.
Love that Mee Panda song !

@mrdan859: Actually.. we call it "Tea Money".. not a fine. An actual "fine" would have to be paid at the police station. (it rarely gets that far).

That truck is NOT 6' tall - CLEARLY, it's a 2WD compact truck - It MIGHT be 5' tall.... so your numbers a bit off on it's overall height.
