Field Marshal Erin Johannes Eugen Rommel The Wüstenfuchs. A great man and truly the Last Night of Germany.
If you question that, read into him. I once question it to.
His books is called Infanterie Greift An or Infantry Attacks
This revised new version doesn't have anything changed to it or any of the maps missing like the English translated one back around WW2 (It's called "Attacks" and not "Infantry Attacks" and you can get it from amazon, published 2011,it wouldn't let me put the link in)
Did u know that he wasnt a nazi ! I saw it on wikipedia the other day. He was on the regular army not with these nazi ! Its what i like with him, he wasnt a nazi. He tried also to killed hitler (in the Walkyrie Operation) But he killed himself in 1944.
A great Man, who has been never ever with the nazi
@TheCoyote974 The regular army was considered the nazi military, the SS was considered supreme nazi military. Erwin Rommel did not support any nazi ideals, he fought for Germany and not Hitler. Also, he never tried to kill hitler, even though he didn't support him. He was associated with the group that did, but he never wanted any of his enemies to die, even though he was a commander. Also it's properly spelled Wälkure. Wiki facts are usually bull, even though they look legitimate.
The further I have to add is the signal that was sent to FreeFrench position by Erwin Rommel with some sort of meditation about the arriving of the brigade set free by him,so they can prepeared, cooked food in advance so already hungary brigade avoid further delay, this may seem a small thing but its reflects the volumes about the humane nature of F.M Erwin Rommel.May his soul rest in peace.
I LOVE Field Marshall Irwin Rommel as did my Grand Father Who had become pow to FM I Rommel,He too fell in respect and love as he treated them(cw POWs) with utmost respect dignity, and when FM Irwin Rommel fellshort of ration to fed them he flew back from Berlin offered his heraties excuseand let them all free, such was the great FM Irwin.
@nqkoisii I am in no way pro nazi and hate hitler specially his theory of superior race the aryans,I just talked about the person Rommel and his nature as humain being.
I hate the Nazi party, and I despise Hitler. However, Rommel is undoubtedly one of my all-time favorite generals. His struggles remind me of the struggles of CSA General Robert E. Lee - they both were great leaders and tacticians, but neither were given the tools and supplies to win their respective campaigns. Hitler's idiocy in 1) removing Rommel from the Tunisian command and 2) in having him murdered for a false murder plot was evident. Field Marshal Rommel was one of the few great soldiers.
Irwin Rommel held a similar place in history to Robert E. Lee. Lee was as much admired by the North as by his own troops during the American Civil War and Rommel was equally admired by the Allies as he was by his own Germany during WWII. Both were highly principled men and brilliant generals. Both treated their enemies with respect. Rommel ate the same rations as his British prisoners and treated them humanely. Had Rommel not been cut off from supply lines he would have won in North Africa.
Yet another attempt by a feeble, demented Rommel-worshiper to resurrect their vile idol's reputation. As usual the Rommel-worshiper descends into fantasy and brainless babble.
The facts are there, they are real. The opinions Churchill, Hart, Hitler or Goebbels are just opinions, they cannot change the reality, the history, the facts.
It is that simple.
Rommel was a failure, a coward and a moral bankrupt. Rommel fought for & led armies of the Nazi regime. Rommel was totally defeated
Great Soldier...not a Nazi..... called a defeatist for speaking the truth to the crazy Fuhrer. What a shame he had to die the way he died. Him and Patton are from the same cloth...front line soldiers. He was sick the hole time in Africa and still did his duty. Great song!
A man who used to take watch's from the concentration camps to try give to his Uboat crews? I don't think he should even be mentioned on the same page as Rommel so.
@metallord999 Yet another Jewish fable to demonize everything German...
This and myth that he gunned down crews of sunked boats are 100% disputed.
When Dönitz died all of his high command wartime enemies came to his funeral to honor him respect. Rommel might be great military leader, but don't forget he tried to kill Führer!
He never actually had anything to kill the fuhrer he just said he would support anyone who came to power if Hilter was killed and was dragged for having talked to people who were involved.
The only other person you could never put in the same league as Rommel for military genius was Erich von Manstein and the only person for honour was Captain Hans Langsdorff.
@metallord999 No one can know for sure, but as long as I researched he was on of the officers involved, but afther Hitler found out he didn't humiliated him, instead he approved him honorable death with all merits. What do you mean that Erich von Manstein isn't in same league!? I hope you just misspeled it,he was great commander, one of the greatest! Hans Langsdorff was naval genius with balls of steal as much as Wittmann was Panzer genius!
Langsdorff took honour and gallantry to a whole new level with deifying Hitler's fight till the death order giving his own life to safe that of his crew. Manstein was a planning genius, Rommel was more of the commander in the field a man who watchs the battle unfold around him who's razor like instinct could instantly changed a battle. They are both like Rommel but in different fields on the same level
@metallord999 Nicely said,I totaly agree! But Hitler was man beyond time, beyond honour and mostly beyond sacrifice! He is one who sacrificed everything and gain nothing to make order in chaos, one who gave us one and only immortal idea that no lies can harm in long run.He was man that whole nation and most of europe fought for to the end.Anyone who has such leader will show full potential he has!He was only leader who stood bravely to the end to show us that such will can't die!
Yes he made order in chaos of the end of the Weimar republic's time in 1933 but as a military commander he will still a jump up corporal who didn't like to listen to his generals. His personal duel with Stalin going for Stalingrad rather then taking Moscow cost him the war. Towards the end though he didn't have a screw loose a whole Meccano set fell apart in there he spent the end of the warrior sending orders to generals to attack with divisions which didn't exist while in Denial
Of course he made some mistakes,it is easy to be general after battle! Man uses war tactic(Blitzkrieg) so revolutionary new and genious that he ought to make some mistakes! As I said,he did't wan't war nor did he got anything form it,he just lost his healt and ultimately life, but he still won,his marydom is inspiration that can't be extinguished! All he wanted is world aware of real enemies of the mankind,Jews and their servants, and people see, people learn despite all the lies and cower-up!
@KroatienSS I think Hitler lost the war because he did not give Ukrainians full independence. Had he done that, he would not have to wary about the eastern front. Ukrainians would have taken the Zionist communist on. I fully agree with you that had he also listen to his generals, the German Reich would still be there. At least we lived in very historic times.
@mfilip62 I am Slovak and we had good rapport with Germany. In fact our troops fought along with Germans to prevent the Zionist/Communist hordes coming west. It is said that we failed.

Why so much focus on Rommel. What about other panzer tacticians in Deutsche Afrika korps: Nehring,Cruewell, von Bismarck,Bayerlein.
