I like how the Chinese do the death penalty. They do it quickly and then they bill the perpetrators family for the bullet . This brings about quick closure for any victims of crime and also saves tax funded money so that tax payers would not have to support theses evil crims..
I actually find it ironic - those on the liberal left want to spare the criminal, but think nothing to kill an unborn child as a means of birth control. The right believes in the preservation of an unborn child and yet executes murderers. Capital Punishment is reserved for the worst, is the system perfect - not by a long shot. Cops are not always on duty. If they go into a store not on there shift with there badge they can arrest you, but if they don't have the badge then they can make a citizens arrest if they want too or call they sheriffs deptament or 911.
My cousin was executed in fall of 2008. And after that the eye witness said that they were pressured into giving the cops the info that they wanted.
@fasfsdfasd Forensics may be a almost perfect science, but human beings doing the forensic investigations are not perfect. A rogue cop might have a bad day and mishandle evidence making the person look even more guilty even though they would have been innocent with the untouched evidence. He gets the chair and the cop goes home. 5 years later they find the cop has done this to alot of cases and fires him and gives him 5 years in jail and the person in the chair is dead.

@ayhoup I have already considered this point, but I think that the victim`s family suffers more if they have to appear at any new trial for a promise that might never be fulfilled. Many of them don`t get closure when they realize that nothing has changed. Their loved one is and remains dead. Many hope for a long time and in the end the death sentence is commuted. I wouldn`t want to go through that. And it`s taxpayer`s money wasted for all the appeals, costs much more than lifetime imprisonment
@MsKillerMieze if i had to go to court a couple more times to make sure the accused has a chance to get sentenced to death, i would do it, and i would not suffer more, in fact, i would want to go because of the possible outcome. and i am currently in criminology at ottawa U and i know for a fact that it cost around 60-80 Thousand dollars a year to keep an inmate alive in prison. multiply by 25, and you get the point. it definitively does not cost more for appeals than life in prison.

So, your "tax dollars" are being used more to feed and shelter death row inmates. Texas executes at least 10 prisoners per year, which is more than any other state. California rarely executes anyone, allowing Inmates to sit on death row for 30 years which spends trillions of dollars.

How about instead of just executing people, we keep them alive away from society where we can study every aspect of their mind. I often wonder what it's like for the family of the person executed when their executioner dies. Like lets say you had a family member executed in 1971 and then their executioner dies in, say, 1985. Does the family feel grief or joy at the loss of the executioner? Probably depends on the circumstances of the person executed, their crime, innocence or guilt, ect ect...

I actually find it ironic - those on the liberal left want to spare the criminal, but think nothing to kill an unborn child as a means of birth control. The right believes in the preservation of an unborn child and yet executes murderers. Capital Punishment is reserved for the worst, is the system perfect - not by a long shot. However, for those that have done the crime and are locked into death as payment - they deserve to meet no less of a similar fate than their victims.

Cops are not always on duty. If they go into a store not on there shift with there badge they can arrest you, but if they don't have the badge then they can make a citizens arrest if they want too or call they sheriffs deptament or 911.
My cousin was executed in fall of 2008. And after that the eye witness said that they were pressured into giving the cops the info that they wanted.

A rogue cop might have a bad day and mishandle evidence making the person look even more guilty even though they would have been innocent with the untouched evidence. He gets the chair and the cop goes home. 5 years later they find the cop has done this to alot of cases and fires him and gives him 5 years in jail and the person in the chair is dead.

@ayhoup I have already considered this point, but I think that the victim`s family suffers more if they have to appear at any new trial for a promise that might never be fulfilled. Many of them don`t get closure when they realize that nothing has changed. Their loved one is and remains dead. Many hope for a long time and in the end the death sentence is commuted. I wouldn`t want to go through that. And it`s taxpayer`s money wasted for all the appeals, costs much more than lifetime imprisonment

@MsKillerMieze if i had to go to court a couple more times to make sure the accused has a chance to get sentenced to death, i would do it, and i would not suffer more, in fact, i would want to go because of the possible outcome. and i am currently in criminology at ottawa U and i know for a fact that it cost around 60-80 Thousand dollars a year to keep an inmate alive in prison. multiply by 25, and you get the point. it definitively does not cost more for appeals than life in prison.

So, your "tax dollars" are being used more to feed and shelter death row inmates. Texas executes at least 10 prisoners per year, which is more than any other state. California rarely executes anyone, allowing Inmates to sit on death row for 30 years which spends trillions of dollars.

How about instead of just executing people, we keep them alive away from society where we can study every aspect of their mind. Maybe there is an area in their brain that is malfunctioning that can be cured by surgery or drugs. Then we can use this knowledge to treat others with the same condition before they kill as well. This could possibly saves lives whereas execution does not.

Each human being, no matter how horrific its behavior, is a wondrous being, created by God in His own likeness. Prisoners literally rot--spiritually. I want no part of that. As wrong as execution is, it is preferable to LWOP.
Because recidivists exist, society cannot simply forgive. In some cases, though, it's the right thing to do.

Even 1 in 1000, one in 10,000, that's still one innocent person executed. Incarcerate for life, that would be much worse than being painlessly executed anyway.

I often wonder what it's like for the family of the person executed when their executioner dies. Like lets say you had a family member executed in 1971 and then their executioner dies in, say, 1985. Does the family feel grief or joy at the loss of the executioner? Probably depends on the circumstances of the person executed, their crime, innocence or guilt, ect ect...

i have no problem with the death penalty, and in fact, if administered swiftly and more inhumane, it would curb some of these low-lifes from committing heinous crimes and expecting to live the rest of their lives in prison....

We have made the death penalty so easy now that I prefer that these animals spend the rest of their lives in prison. Think about it--sexual abuse,bad food,mean guards,no smoking,rape,small cells,beatings---man that is just what these people deserve--kille them? great idea, but in reality--incarceration forever is so much better punishment for them

I wish I could stab every cop that harrassed me, searched me, pulled me over for having an air freshener then searched me and slammed my head on the hood of their car for no reason, put me in jail for 16 days for no reason (my charged were dismissed)... All cops are kids that were turds in high school and got picked on now they got a badge and a little, and i mean just a little bit, of power they abuse the shit out of it..
