If you noticed the only time the HM passes the KTM is when the KTM slowed down. Obviously for the purpose of this video. Same happens at the end. Fact is that the KTM accelerates faster, brakes better, cuts corners alot faster and ow well is simply a faster bike if you know how to handle one. Dont get we wrong the HM is still an awesome bike but doesnt require you to have the riding skills of Robbie Budgen to ride it well. Imho the HM is a civilised KTM.

Before I start.... I own a KTM 990 sm.... but:

1. that shitty track is so fast and benefits the bike that has more HP and revs much higher (in this video, KTM of course) .....

2. an Aprilia RS 250 on that track will burn both of that bikes by far......

3. remember Ducati race and wins in Moto GP and Superbike.... so you should watch out before you say "italian bastard" or "little red Ducati".

4. I think the great King Carl (Fogarty, if you dont know this guy) was driving a Ducati.

My father has the HM: it's beautiful and has a great frame, suspension and brakes but sincerely the engine not as good... the air cooling? It's reliable but we are in the 3rd millennium and Ducati should also propose a version with liquid cooling! And u don't speak about kTm but every year the Mattinghofen industry wins many prize: this year for example 10 World Championship titles, 1 European Championship title and over 20 Italian league titles. KTM has won in 35 years more than 160 world title

My dear, BMW makes also air cooled engine for more than 40 years...and like Ducati they have lots of clients who looks for that kind of engine...they also have the Streetfighter or the 1198s if you want a liquid cooled engine... try to compare a Superduke with the Streetfighter or the 1198s with the 1190 RC8 ;) ...

KTM can win lots of titles with offroad bikes, but in Superbike or Moto GP, where you really need lots of high technology, where is KTM :)

I'm not speaking about Moto GP but about HM and SM, 2 moto far from technology of moto gp and however u tell that in supercross, supermoto, etc... there isn't high technology? Certainly, the cost is less (because shortly thereafter) but also there are some parts of the design team like as prototypes of moto gp.

yes, that's true... maybe in 4th gear at the track speed the ducati have the motor @low rpms.. so it haves low power too(too much less than 90hp)..

Like the ones getting passed in this video? This is a 'B' group session, with 600's, 750's and liter bikes. And we were in 4th gear only! I ride a R6 as my track bike, but don't think that just any sportie is going to put these SuMo's down. It really is all about the rider.

@brents347 I seriously don't think Stavencapp has ridden either. I've had 2 Gixxer 750's and I currently own an SMR510 Husky. The Husky in tight turns in way more nimble and 0-60 is every bit as good if not better. I don't know of a sport bike that would take a supermoto in a twisty track.

@brents347 If you had to choose between your R6 or a 400 DRZ for stunts and speed what would you pick. Lets just say you live in a cold climate so obviously fuel injection and carboration play into effect when its -4c out but its the start of riding season. I had a Buell blast for about 2 years, because of the carborator it had a shit load of trouble starting in the cold, even when its stored in a garage. I only ask because im in the middle of buying either a CBR F4i 2002, or a DRZ 400 2003
