@MrFordyy Mercedes Benz is actually one of the worst as far as depreciation. Great cars, but they depreciate fast. 2007 s550 starting at $86,950. You can get a good condition low mileage model in the $40,000-$45,000 range. With 50-60k+ miles, you get can one in the high 30 something thousand range. That's a lot of money to lose in three years.

I have a 2007 Sonata. It has an 18 pass rotary dip primer process. For 2011, they also changed to a front (MacPherson) strut suspension, (instead of the more expensive/sophisticated upper/lower control arm, coil over shock of the 2006-2010, "regular" rear decklid hinges (crushes objects in trunk) instead of the multi-articulating hinges of the 06-10 models. Also MUCH cheaper kumho tires instead of the $240 a piece Michelins.

The next car I buy will get a thorough inspection of the paint before I decide. Kudos to any and all automakers that put more quality into their paint jobs.

Hyundai have benn selling luxury vehicles for along time but they just started selling luxury in the US. Some people but luxury based on a badge but Hyundai offers similiar options for alot cheaper.

Statistically, most car models at the end of their 5-6 year terms sell the least in the last few years. You fail again!

I have to admit the Tiburon was pretty nice. My sister had one, it was quick but not fast. To bad she got big Matrix mufflers, but luckily it wasn't a high pitched ricer noise. But the paint quality wasn't very good, lots of orange peel at least it stayed on the car. now its totaled.
VW TDI JETTA, The only way to go, Small but big with all the amenities & comfort. In fact it is the most comfortable, well put together car I've ever drove. Plus it gets an amazing 50+mpg highway, & it runs on bio-fuel. Save the enviroment, get one, I did.
it just goes to show they have that much processing power and the money to pull it off. It's motor business instinct to better the engine before the paint.... it's purely logical. Same thing applies to commercials. The company producing and distributing the ads just have that much success they can afford to spend millions of dollars on 30 second ads.
Why do people keep saying Hyundai is crap. I would prefer Hyundai over Toyota. I had both Toyota and Hyundai, I had NO problem with Hyundai and had Santa Fe for nearly 4 years. Their 10 years warranty is also nice. Of course, Toyota is far more successful and well known but the current news (family got killed while driving the Lexus because the break got stuck.) just shows how careless Toyota was and yet, they still can't find the problem after recalling so many cars.

I have friends with different domestic cars that have already had major repairs done to there cars, even at 30,000 or less miles. I'm confident that it will continue to hold up well.

Hyundai have benn selling luxury vehicles for along time but they just started selling luxury in the US. How do u figure they cant sell luxury vehicles the genesis sold more that its competitors including lexus GS . The equus is coming out soon and should be a good luxury vehicle. Some people but luxury based on a badge but Hyundai offers similiar options for alot cheaper.

From late 2008 to late 2009 the BMW 5 series sold more than 2x as many units each month compared to the Genesis (ranging from 2,500 units to over 5,000 units) as did the Mercedes E-class. The only reason the Genesis outsold the GS (and not by much) is because the GS has been in desperate need of a design change! Statistically, most car models at the end of their 5-6 year terms sell the least in the last few years. You fail again!

Ford is doing great right now, and the cars are better all-around than Hyundai.

I have to admit the Tiburon was pretty nice. My sister had one, it was quick but not fast. To bad she got big Matrix mufflers, but luckily it wasn't a high pitched ricer noise. But the paint quality wasn't very good, lots of orange peel at least it stayed on the car. now its totaled.

When Toyota first came to USA in 1960's.
Americans laughed at tiny car with weak engine that didn't start in cold weather.
Toyota had to withdraw from US market the next year.
But then with the oil crisis, Toyota with now improved position came back and gradually replaced American made cars.

Why do people keep saying Hyundai is crap. I would prefer Hyundai over Toyota. I had both Toyota and Hyundai, I had NO problem with Hyundai and had Santa Fe for nearly 4 years. Their 10 years warranty is also nice. Of course, Toyota is far more successful and well known but the current news (family got killed while driving the Lexus because the break got stuck.) just shows how careless Toyota was and yet, they still can't find the problem after recalling so many cars.

@Faith804 What year Santa Fe? I have a 2007 that has 73000 miles on it and it's never had a repair, just maintenance. I have friends with different domestic cars that have already had major repairs done to there cars, even at 30,000 or less miles. I'm confident that it will continue to hold up well.
