'The Hobbit', Audio Book- Part II of III

Thank you for posting this! I was given the LPs for this in 4th grade from my mom for Christmas. Listening now, I still can recite parts right along with Mr Williamson. Since its only available still on LP, is there a way to transfer it to CD or something? I still have a turntable, just don't use it too much.

Edited or not, this is a favorite version of this book for me.

I just realized about 15 or so minutes in that this is abridged, when they are introduced to Beorn it is supposed to be slowly and as if they are tricking him into entertaining company but he only introduces himself, (Gandalf) and Bilbo.

i'd read the hobbit in german for a hundred times-now i try to train my english. on my opinion the hobbit is one of the best tales ever- even for adults :)

@tuber7071 I know, I remember the dwarves having to show up in twos while Gandalf was telling his story to Beorn so that he was more likely to let them all stay with him... Plus parts of the singing/peoms are cut, which is understandable.

@wishing4fame Lucky for you I just woke up -_- Let's see then.. This vid starts at the beginning of Chapter 6: 'Out of the Frying-Pan Into the Fire'. The third vid starts one page before the end of Chapter 12: 'Inside Information'. So once the timer reaches 44 secs into the third vid, that's the beginning of Chapter 13: 'Not At Home'. Keep in mind of course that the book has quite a bit more dialogue & different wording in it, but I'm sure this audio version can be used for an assignment. :j
