  • My scalp was perfect for the first time in my life. I was doing jojoba treatments every saturday. I then relaxed and used NO base because my scalp was perfect WORST MISTAKE. Now I have crispy spots, flakey and itchy :( . So this is safe in my circumstances?

  • @albeeinla How long ago was this?

  • @albeeinla Its been about 6 months that Ive been re-wrestling with dry scalp. Ive now learned BASE BASE BASE each time.

  • @albeeinla most likely this is not "dry scalp" if it's been 6 months with no improvement. If you're hair is still relaxed, see a dermatologist and demand a liquid medication and the medicated shampoos when used as often as you may need will trash your hair. If you have transitions to natural try some OTC shampoos and then see a Dr, if it doesn't improve after about a months. It is important you used them exactly as they instruct and there are tricks.

  • @albeeinla I have a Seborrhea Dermatitis play list on the Loc'd Glory website that explains a lot. The techniques and medications are VERY similar for both SD and Psoriasis so it should help. A Dr. with experience with black skin can really help you narrow down where to start though.

  • @quotidianlight Thanks very much I really appreciate it. Im going to the site. Last time I used Kera Care Anit itch shampoo & conditioner and it helped. I also used Psyco derm (expensive) but it worked. Those products are drying for the hair. I have found in the past JOJOBA oil from whole foods removed the patches.

  • Please respond: I have a big big problem... for a few months my dreads where itching like crazy spec. in the middle. Before it itch non stop. Now a few dreads in the middle of my hair is stringing out and it's really pissing me off. If I only use Listerine would you think it solve the problem? I also use Suave to wash my hair, is there a better product because I hear it dries you scalp. Please help me I had my dreads since I was a baby ( never had a hair cut 19 years). Thank you.

  • @rastask8ter1 I HIGHLY recommend seeing a dermatologist to make sure you aren't experiencing the effects of something serious. I have an article on thinning locs on the Loc'd Glory website but the fact that you had crazy itching and now your locs are thinning make my red flags go off. It could be dandruff, eczema, psoriasis, infection or hormonal disorders. Also, please look for a good high quality Shampoo/Conditioner. Suave is harsh imo

  • @rastask8ter1 listerine works well for mild to moderate fungal based issues (like dandruff) but if your hair is thinning... you may need meds to save your hair.

  • tried 50million times to post a comment so *crossing my fingers* ....whats holding your hair back in the beginning of the video?? looks really cool!!

  • @smashleyruns Don't know how I missed this comment. So sorry. It's a Tomoka Twists. I can't post links to comments but if you google they'll come up and I think mini has a sale going on right now

  • @quotidianlight lol, thanks. I sort of made my own from what I thought it was and then later find out that it was a Tomoka Twist

  • very informative, thanks!

  • can listerine be used as a substitute to an ACV rinse?

  • @CesarWilly08 ACV has some nice effects on locs but seems to only work for mild cases of dandruff. Listerine is applied to the scalp if ACV isn't working but ACV may still be good for closing cuticles and shine on the length of your locs.

  • Where did you get that extremely large shower cap from?!

My locs are past my bra strap and I NEED something to cover it when Im in the shower...

  • @NOPinupGirl that is actually my small one lmao. Do a youtube search for my name and showercap. I have two shower cap reviews you may want to look at.

  • thanx!

  • @LocsAndThings and thank you for watching

  • I bought some yesterday and I'm going to try this on myself and my daughter. Thanks so much for providing the history of the product. It was helpful in my decision on whether or not to try this method. You are the best!!! You were also featured on the FB page of a master loctician...wow!

  • @Cherished131 Really? Do you remember who's FB it was?

  • You would make a good nurse! Great video! Listerine can also be used to treat nail fungus.

  • @proud2banurse That is a great tip! I'd imagine light cases of athletes foot would probably be helped too

  • have you ever tried T-gel shampoo?

  • @nickyworth25 Yes, it is a good one. I have a video in my seborrhea Dermatitis play list that goes over the shampoos

  • You are very knowledgeable. Thanks for sharing. I too use to suffer with scalp issues and was dependent on Nizoral. I was able to eliminate this need by cleaning up my diet, eliminating all gluten from my diet, cutting back on sugary treats, drinking at least one green smoothie a day and breathing more, stressing less. It has been more than 8 eights years since my last outbreak. I use only regular shampoo now. Just a thought.

  • @tmice826 yep, when m food is clean I only flare up maybe twice a yr when it's shytty.... it's constant.

  • U changed ur nails already? What happened to the french?

  • @beautiijunkii I filmed this before the french. But I'm redoing them tonight

  • good video . great info

  • @paulantonio10 Thank you

  • teehee..you right when your nose ring come down it does look like a booger...

  • @quotidianlight after you got on a roll it slipped down and by then i guess you did not notice but after you said that...i just kept watching it..LOL

  • Your nose ring is fine...I had the same kind. I think once your nose becomes use to it it simply stops moving around.

  • @iluvmakeupthismuch I've had that ring 19 yrs, it is just bent wrong and needs replaced badly

  • What if I have listerine that whiten your teeth and helps prevents cavities.? Can I still use it? I know it has peroxide in it.... and I know that lightens your hair a lil.... But what about that?!

  • @LeslieMoniqueTV NO! Not all listerines are anteseptic and the others have color and crap that just makes a mess of hair OR makes it pointless.

  • wow thanks for this loc sis ima try this cuz i just got a new bottle of listerine by the way lol and your locs look so healthy and clean!

  • @bamllih It really helps. I use it instead of Nisoral since they are both anti-fungal in action and still use my topical so I can avoid the shampoos.

  • I would have never thought of this....but something I must try. The kitchen is the worst for me and sometimes the line in the front. Thanks for this vid. Blessings!

  • @Supa6Fly That line in the front looks so shytty when it flares up

  • Your hair looks so sexy LOL its starting to get that wild look I love it !!! Ohhh what nail polish is that I want it !!!!!

  • @misspotential The polish is Essie Dive Bar;)

  • OMG, i love ur locks. i was wondering, i do u suggest i get my locks thinker without cuttin them off and starting again because the longer mine get the thinner they look. in some cases they look thin enough to break if they get caught on something :-( please help!?
