  • usually when u read cpmmits on utube u see a mix of good and bad stuff.. If u read every commit on this, u will see not 1 bad negative commit by anyone! Bcuz there is NOTHING bad to say about this.. One of the greatest moments of the 90's for me and for sure the greatest Nascar moment EVER Rip Dale #3

  • 10 years ago today this man was taken from us. Some remember that he died there. Not me. I watch this video and remember that he lived there.

  • If your feeling down, watch this for a pick me up!!

  • There will never be another moment like that in NASCAR again..Thank you, Dale, Sr. for perhaps the greatest, most anticipated moment in NASCAR history.

  • It could it been 1 2 finish with Eanhart & Skinner

  • I don't think you'll ever see another moment like that, on pit road or anywhere else to do with racing ever again!

  • Greatest moment winning, or the line on pitroad to shake his hand?

  • Dale was one tough sob in nascar and he finaly won the Daytona 500!

R.I.P- Dale greatest racer 4 ever

  • same

i thnink everyone wants him back!

  • !!!!!!!! we miss him so much the race that killed him to win rilly killed him =-<

  • At least he died doing what he loved to do!

  • best there is, best there was, best there will ever be, dale earnhardt

  • i was 2 months old when this happend this was the first and best race of my life no matter what.

  • A timeless moment in NASCAR history

  • i just cried a little.. damn i miss this guy.

  • i miss dale )0;

  • i think dale had a big heart, but, not at the race track. he helped a lot of people or churches or who ever. but, he didn't want the media to know that.

  • houston said, one time after talledaga, he didn't have enough money to get back home. he was talking to dale and told him what the deal was. dale reach into his pocket and pulled out ? 40 or 50 bucks and said here, take it.

  • i never did like dale as a driver. but, he was one of the best race car drivers, ever.

bout 10 years ago, i was installing a sec. system in this guys house, outside hickory, nc. he starts telling me all these stories about how used to race dale, gant and all the others. i thought to myself, yeah right. the guys last name was houston, i think. the longer i worked, the more stories he told. now i'm starting to believe him.

  • I dunno, this was good, but I think that the most exciting post race activity ever was when Dale Jr won the pepsi 400 in 2001. THAT was the most incredible thing I've ever seen.

  • This brings tears to my eyes, what a great day in American sports history thanks for posting this. "3"

  • greatest moment in motorsports history.

  • RIP

  • I was never really an Earnhardt fan, but when I saw this... probably my happiest NASCAR moment.

  • its just too bad that his wife is such a cunt nowadays....

  • No shit. What a bitch.

  • she is but on the good side hendriks has a good driver know and i know i spelld it rong

  • u have to figure he was near the end of his career he could have won 5 or 0 cuz he didnt have many years left cuz he was turning 50 in 01

  • He said he was going to retire around 2005 or so.

  • really he would have been about 55 dang

  • could you imagine how many more 500's he could of won if he didn't die?

this was the best daytona race, no matter what.

  • I still get those chills & that incredible feeling of relief & immense joy & happiness when I watch this, the same feelings I got when I watched him win it back in '98. Perhaps the single greatest moment in NASCAR history. I don't ever think I will forget this day.

  • Just never get tired of watching this clip, and even for just a moment, getting that feeling seeing the man win that race.

  • I was 8 when he died and I was so sad. I cried until May.

  • I was 6 and I still cry. Check out my dale videos...

  • this is the greastest day in racing history ill naver forget them saying "20 years of try 20years of fustrating dale earnhardt WINS THE DAYTONA 500!!!"

  • dale was the man. imo he was by far the best. he put the car where it had to go, when it needed to go there, and really drove the cars to the end. i wish he was still here, as do most of us.

  • watching this vid shows u how much dale meant to all the drivers and crew

  • hear ya i remember when davey died i couldn't leave my house every time i'd seem like i was done crying i start again with dale i didn't cry but i felt bad for his wife and family

  • This is by far the best moment in NASCAR history, the emotion and the fans in the stands just screaming so loud when he won. I remember standing in my living room in tears when he won, my dad was in tears, this was amazing, just so amazing. We miss you Dale, the sport just isn't the same.

  • brought tears to my eyes

  • Speaking of the Pespi 400, does anyone have that on video...the one where Dale Jr won just 5 months after we lost Dale? That was one emotional race!

  • that was.

  • it's under my favorites.

    click on my screen name

  • thanks for posting this video. absolutely the best moment in racing history, along with Dale Jr's win at the Pespi 400 in 2001.

  • no its not the only reason you think its the best is because you like him

  • i disagree...i never liked dale and i think this is the greatest moment in nascar history without a doubt. just the emotion and sheer joy and the community that you see as literally everyone congratulates dale when he won...it transcended the sport as a moment of pure joy

  • tret i hope u die dales teh best WE MISS U DALE

  • I don't like Earnhardt

  • And the rest of us posting here don't like you.

  • Know this is off topic but does anyone know what happened to Ken Squier, always like him

  • Squier's essentially retired from television, but has a stake in a quarter mile oval called Thunder Road in Barre, Vermont.

  • Thanks, I also heard hes a PA for Charlotte Motor Speedway that true?

  • I always loved listening to Ken Squier host the Daytona 500, the good ol days of racin'. First NASCAR race I ever watched was the '90 Daytona 500 & I listened to Ken the whole race I thought he was one smart cookie when it came to racing. I was right.

  • this is the single best moment in nascar history dale we miss you! you will never be forgotten!!!

  • BEST MOMENT IN NASCAR HISTORY !!!
