Hey- I played with singles basically up until a few months ago. I guess I feel that metronomically, I have more accuracy with doubles. It takes less energy for me to do doubles, and when you are playing a gig, conserving energy does make a difference. There are times now when I want to accent something and I will break away from the doubles and fill with a single oriented fill. I have not seen many others using doubles, but honestly, it feels maaad good and I feel like I have way more control.
