My guess is that would make them so very happy they'd shit themselves (as if they really needed that).
@zaxxxon youre so right-well said- I feel the same way- I just cant get around the fact that in the 21st century with all the knowledge and technology we have and are gaining at breakneck speed we even have creationists and the ridiculous debate they (pardon the pun) create-when are they going to get it- there isnt even a debate! One dark age, which lasted over 1000 years was bad enough-no way are we doing it again!

BLIND WATCHMAKER NO ARGUMENT. Natural selection is no "blind watchmaker" because it can only "select" from traits having survival value. It doesn't produce those traits. It only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before, so it couldn't be involved in life's origins. A partially-evolved cell (an oxymoron) would quickly disintegrate. I have watched your videos from the beginning. Four hours straight! They are so entertaining and I truly admire you pulling no punches and ridiculing these "god" damn liars for jesus.
The "gate keeping" function of peer review in this case was something like MLB escorting a drunken idiot off the field during a baseball game. Meyer and then managing editor of The Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington, Richard Sternberg, attempted to by-pass the peer review process. The journal disavowed Meyer's work and fired Sternberg for his dishonesty.
Stephen Meyer an ID proponent has published peer reviewed material in scientific journals. The review process criticized the article and made recommendations, some changes were made and publication proceeded....and the editor was fired for publishing it....this is known as Gate Keeping
'The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion ... draws all things else to support and agree with it. And though there be a greater number and weight of instances to be found on the other side, yet these it either neglects and despises ... in order that by this great and pernicious predetermination the authority of its former conclusions may remain inviolate.'
~ Francis Bacon, Novum Organum, 1620
I think that sums up old PissPiss, or whatever his name is, quite accurately.
Nice one yet again! But maybe the fact that you so completely eviscerate "scientific" creationists with so many points from so many angles makes it easy to turn off the whole message. I want 1 simple video from you with 1 simple point. No creationist themed "science" paper has ever lived through peer review. Just ask for one paper that's been peer reviewed. Sure, show a bunch of creationist papers that claim to be scientific, but ask only 1 question: Provide one peer reviewed creationist paper.
Satan is a lesbian? Sign me up for Hell, please!! (Found you via TheMudbrooker's collab promo vid - really been enjoying this series, and I can't believe I wasn't subbed to you before!)
TheLivingDinosaur, i´m so glad for your existence......
You are unbelievable.......
Really, i mean it.If you ever stop this EPIC, and fucking IMPORTANT business of giving counterweight to the harmful fucktards of this place, i will come to your place and.... ahh..... kill you for Richard Dawkins? Or file a complaint? Or something? What do non-fucktards, nonextremists and nondeluded people do, when they are really, really unhappy with sbd elses' actions?
Creationist scientist, do they actually have a list of biologist?
I saw a donExodus2 video that he meticulously dissected the names printed on the poster and found out that only 1 biologist who is a graduate of a non accredited christian university. The creationists list was just a bunch of lies, shit, and giggles!
I have one problem with what is an otherwise excellent video. Most science is not done in academia, but is done in the marketplace. It is the marketplace that has accomplished just about every bit of science that makes our lives better. It is scientist employed in the marketplace that bring us medicine, computers, appliances, autos, planes, satellites, rockets, even the space shuttle was mostly built by the market.
@Sloth7d If science is profitable or useful, why would anyone BUT the gov pursue it?I agree there is certain science that might not be profitable that is worth pursuing, but certainly not any science that is not "useful" (in your own words).
You and AronRa need to have a contest to see who can keep a continuous phrase going. I personally would love to see this done on MSS. Great work as usual otherwise.
I suggest he does what the comedian Dara O Briain suggests and go and look at himself naked in the mirror - if there was ever more evidence to show that the intelligent designer must have been either on drugs or as the Bible suggests better - an evil, twisted yet highly incompetant idiot!
I think it was Robin Williams who said the human body has the waste processing plant near a recreation area - how intelligent is that? :D
you sir are truly the king, absolutely love you're vids. it is an absolute crime that you are not getting 10's, 100's of thousands of views..keep up the good work and thanks for the videos
Excellent. You completely OWNED another monumental buffoon - a.k.a a creationist. You always do it with reason and real arguments. I love your videos. They are a breath of fresh air among so much crap uploaded to you tube by Neanderthal creationists with their primitive gibberish. Thanks
PP is such a "cretard" he has blocked comments on his video. Must have been the deluge of people, many Christians, that tried to educate him and his "flock".
It is very sad when christians break the rules they are supposed to lives on, especially the 9th. commandment on baring false witness. To believe something so strongly that they would lie even though their religion forbids it is very questionable. It is NOT okay to lie when preaching no matter how much they believe it is true or how much they are compelled to tell others. It is THIS lack of integrity I see a lot in the christians I know & it is something I despise greatly. Another great vid TLD.
Excellently done as we have come to expect, Living Dinosaur. Well done on pointing out the argument from ignorance inherent in PPSimmons claims. It always irks me when Creationists like him and Nephilimfree make the claim that the changes in organisms are somehow coded in them from the start, but then get strangely unable to point out any evidence for this (or refute examples of non-repeated adaptive change in experiment) other than "It has to be!"
@AllOtherNamesTaken2 Back and forth is not quite the right term. PP serves, and I slam it back at him. That's as far as the rallies have gone and as far as I'm concerned that makes the score love-forty.Check you HH 8, 11 and 15 if you want to see the rest of the match. ;-)
Dawkins philosophical beliefs ARE directly related to his work as a scientist. He believes, the universe is a huge pile of random matter with no purpose or direction, and we are accidents with no objective moral, etc.
@NoslemProductions Actually my mother just thought I should should be educated in religious matters and didn't push anything. It was the nuns and the priests at the school she sent me to that taught me about the policeman in the sky, and I believed them until I was about ten or so, learned to think for myself and realized it was all made up bull. Bear in mind that the nuns and priests believed god was a policeman as much as you don't, so how do you know you're right and they weren't?
Oh don't get me wrong, I go by reason and evidence as well. I just know how to think rationally, and believe in God at the same time. You don't seem to be able too, but maybe you will pick up the skill when you get older.
@NoslemProductions I have no issue with rational theists and know that the two can be reconciled. This should be clear in several of my videos. Rationalism, however, is not compatible with the scriptural literalism that I attack in this, and my other videos. Also. that's the 2nd time you've been a patronizing prick to me. I'm all for open comment and debate and the odd witty insult, but do it again and I'll assume you're a troll who's just here to get my back up and I'll block you.
I saw them. You seem to be a very open minded atheist. Sorry for the previous ad hominems. Still, I think you can see the benefit and rational of seeing God as more mysterious than a policeman in the sky.
@altonnukem Actually, I felt kind of bad for the snake. I think they're actually beautiful animals. It was a cool pic, though, and the phrase "snake in the grass" seemed to fit PP perfectly.
@TheLivingDinosaur The art of language is dead. Just listen to a group of teenagers – like you know man. People don’t use adjectives anymore, just bare bone sentence. What you did with your narrative is art. Colourful and penetrating. I am impressed. The poor bastard was totally skewered in a rich and entertaining way.
"Science has nothing to say regarding the existence or non-existence of a god or gods. If a god does actually exist, science has done nothing other than open humanity's eyes to the sheer magnitude and magnificence of its creation, while people who insist on clinging to the primitive tales that their parents convinced them were true do nothing but constrain their god in a small and insignificant box constructed thousands of years ago by primitive people in a primitive age."
@thunderbolt94 Thank you. If PP were more like you I'd have a lot more spare time on my hands! IMHO science does a lot more to glorify your god than creationism ever did.
Superb video, TLD. Excellent job, not only of calling this individual out on his stream of BS, but explaining how things really work in science. Nail after nail hit squarely on the head, and (like your entire series) *wonderfully* visually engaging and entertaining.
We are looking at the same evidence. The difference is that we have, for example, archaeologists looking at archaeology and biologists looking at biology; not electrical engineers and lawyers. That's why we stand a better chance of getting our interpretations right as opposed to wildly wrong. The Creationist stance is the equivalent of asking a metallurgist to perform neurosurgery. Hence their use of the word 'evolutionism', trying to reduce the number disciplines that regard them as fuckwits.
@falchion49 While I completely agree, as per my reply to AncientAtheist, below, I try to avoid using this perfectly valid argument because it could be interpreted as an argument from authority. Nevertheless, the arrogance of creationists who think they can argue with professionals is astounding to me. Presumably they don't do the same thing to their doctors or car mechanics.
@TheLivingDinosaur I like to use the pilot analogy. I've been a pilot for 20 years but I've spent more time being an archaeologist than a pilot. If I was to discuss aerodynamics, instrument flying, engine management, navigation etc they'd generally take my word for it. That's not an argument from authority, it's an argument from expertise. Yet they're unwilling to allow me the same priviliege with archaeology, which I trained for longer and have vastly more experience at. That's hypocrisy.
@TheLivingDinosaur If we don't use what they would term an argument from authority, we're allowing them the unearned right to judge what being an authority on a subject is actually worth. They don't have that right, they haven't earned it. People such as yourself and other professionals have earned the right to comment on subjects within their field. It's not an 'argument from authority', it's basically knowing what you're talking about.
@falchion49 You make your point very well and I certainly don't disagree. I'll certainly reconsider using it when the opportunity comes up next but I'll have to pick my words very carefully.
@TheLivingDinosaur I think a lot of Creationists have a very strange idea about scientists. I often get the feeling that they think they're dealing with Christopher Lloyd's character from Back to the Future. Once again it belies their basic lack of a grasp of reality. An argument from ignorance can never have the same weight as one from authority.
So far no single creationist theory that I know of has ever been proven wrong... but I also have never heard of any single creationist 'theory' that meets the definition of theory, maybe a hypothesis or two.

@grfield1
MonkeyPythagoras 10 months ago
Stephen Meyer an ID proponent has published peer reviewed material in scientific journals. The review process criticized the article and made recommendations, some changes were made and publication proceeded....and the editor was fired for publishing it....this is known as Gate Keeping

'The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion ... draws all things else to support and agree with it. And though there be a greater number and weight of instances to be found on the other side, yet these it either neglects and despises ... in order that by this great and pernicious predetermination the authority of its former conclusions may remain inviolate.'

I have one problem with what is an otherwise excellent video. Most science is not done in academia, but is done in the marketplace. It is the marketplace that has accomplished just about every bit of science that makes our lives better. It is scientist employed in the marketplace that bring us medicine, computers, appliances, autos, planes, satellites, rockets, even the space shuttle was mostly built by the market.
christo930 1 year ago
@christo930 I wouldn't say MOST science. More like most of the more profitable and useful science.
Sloth7d 1 year ago
@Sloth7d If science is profitable or useful, why would anyone BUT the gov pursue it?I agree there is certain science that might not be profitable that is worth pursuing, but certainly not any science that is not "useful" (in your own words).

Oh and God is not a policeman in the Sky. If that is what you mother taught you, than It's no wonder your an atheist! I'm very sorry.
NoslemProductions 1 year ago
@NoslemProductions Actually my mother just thought I should should be educated in religious matters and didn't push anything. It was the nuns and the priests at the school she sent me to that taught me about the policeman in the sky, and I believed them until I was about ten or so, learned to think for myself and realized it was all made up bull. Bear in mind that the nuns and priests believed god was a policeman as much as you don't, so how do you know you're right and they weren't?
TheLivingDinosaur 1 year ago
@TheLivingDinosaur
I went to a catholic school too, and It was a pretty good experience, the nuns were not harsh at all, and they were pretty liberal.
" Bear in mind that the nuns and priests believed god was a policeman as much as you don't, so how do you know you're right and they weren't?"

@NoslemProductions Good luck with your hunch. Meanwhile I pass on the mumbo-jumbo and stick with reason and evidence, thank you.

@TheLivingDinosaur
Oh don't get me wrong, I go by reason and evidence as well. I just know how to think rationally, and believe in God at the same time. You don't seem to be able too, but maybe you will pick up the skill when you get older.
NoslemProductions 1 year ago
@NoslemProductions I have no issue with rational theists and know that the two can be reconciled. This should be clear in several of my videos. Rationalism, however, is not compatible with the scriptural literalism that I attack in this, and my other videos. Also. that's the 2nd time you've been a patronizing prick to me. I'm all for open comment and debate and the odd witty insult, but do it again and I'll assume you're a troll who's just here to get my back up and I'll block you.
TheLivingDinosaur 1 year ago

I saw them. You seem to be a very open minded atheist. Sorry for the previous ad hominems. Still, I think you can see the benefit and rational of seeing God as more mysterious than a policeman in the sky.

Hence their use of the word 'evolutionism', trying to reduce the number disciplines that regard them as fuckwits.
falchion49 1 year ago
@falchion49 While I completely agree, as per my reply to AncientAtheist, below, I try to avoid using this perfectly valid argument because it could be interpreted as an argument from authority. Nevertheless, the arrogance of creationists who think they can argue with professionals is astounding to me. Presumably they don't do the same thing to their doctors or car mechanics.
TheLivingDinosaur 1 year ago
@TheLivingDinosaur I like to use the pilot analogy. I've been a pilot for 20 years but I've spent more time being an archaeologist than a pilot. If I was to discuss aerodynamics, instrument flying, engine management, navigation etc they'd generally take my word for it. That's not an argument from authority, it's an argument from expertise. Yet they're unwilling to allow me the same priviliege with archaeology, which I trained for longer and have vastly more experience at. That's hypocrisy.
falchion49 1 year ago
@TheLivingDinosaur If we don't use what they would term an argument from authority, we're allowing them the unearned right to judge what being an authority on a subject is actually worth. They don't have that right, they haven't earned it. People such as yourself and other professionals have earned the right to comment on subjects within their field. It's not an 'argument from authority', it's basically knowing what you're talking about.
falchion49 1 year ago
@falchion49 You make your point very well and I certainly don't disagree. I'll certainly reconsider using it when the opportunity comes up next but I'll have to pick my words very carefully.
TheLivingDinosaur 1 year ago
@TheLivingDinosaur I think a lot of Creationists have a very strange idea about scientists. I often get the feeling that they think they're dealing with Christopher Lloyd's character from Back to the Future. Once again it belies their basic lack of a grasp of reality. An argument from ignorance can never have the same weight as one from authority.
