Once again, FARC has lost its ideology a long time ago. Had you been in the border of Panama with Colombia, you would have seen (as I have) FARC members moving on their boats transfering drugs & cash. Meanwhile, forcing kids & women into fighting. @matteoprez I think that no one will win this war with violence, not the goverment and neither will the FARC, I think that violence starts with the goverment because of its antidemocratic policies, because it represses all social movements, because it doesnt let certain people with certain ideas reach political positions in the govermet, etc.. and the consequence is the armed conflict.... I believe in a negotiated solution in which society is the winner.

If she dies, it will only be one possible result of her decision. Not something that anyone needs to be happy about, since the loss of any human life is not a good thing. Rather than celebrating and promoting death, we must think about ways to protect and celebrate life.

Both groups are a bunch of delinquents, no ideology behind their madness. Each FARC battalion has to give the central organization 1,000,000US each week (that's right, each week). @yangkaihui Te equivocas. Para mi ANNCOL solia ser una organizacion seria, cuando los principales conductores eran los de la Asociacion Pardo Leal (Union Patriotica). Pero luego se volvio un brazo de estos narco-marxistas. Y si soy mejor que los narco-palamilitares de la AUC, y mucho mejor que los narco-marxistas de las FARC.
Cuando los payasos narco-marxistas han atacado inocentes? Caldono, La Sierra, Tambo, Villares,San Vicente....y la lista es larga....el collar bomba, Popayan, etc, etc, etc

Tanja most definitely has that “romantic” false notion of a benevolent FARC, and her stupidity and stubbornness will saldy be what her people back home will remember her by. FARC is responsible for the death of thousands of peasants, ironically the ones they claim to be fighting for. Fortunately, the Col. goverment has gained ground and deail with these insurgency in the only effective and manner they understand: by the counteraction of true Colombian heroes: the military forces of Colombia

Do you honestly think the FARC is a sports club that spontaneously appeared out of think air to play in the jungle and cause trouble? Yes, the FARC may be "evil" but so is the Colombian military and the crimes they've committed that you choose not to see. As if the Colombian military has not killed thousands of innocent people.

@buddhasknowbest: I don't have romantic notions of anyone, but I do know how to recognize the hard work the Colombian military have done to ensure our democacy prevails. I will also avoid your over generalization of an "evil" military, for the mistakes of a few bad apples. It is clear that innocent people fall during wars, those are unfortunate collaterals; can you tell of one that has been the exception?. It may surprise you to know the Colombian military has over 80% approval from its People.

What gives her the right to come to a foreign land to bring death and destruction? Everyone knows that FARC is not longer a leftist guerrilla group, but a band of drugs traffickers that enjoys kidnapping civilian women and innocent people. FARC methods may be questionable, but their cause is certainly justified.

@elcoyote16 I don't think we need to wish death upon Tanja. She made a wrong and juvenile choice but it is one she had the right to do. If she dies, it will only be one possible result of her decision. Not something that anyone needs to be happy about, since the loss of any human life is not a good thing. Rather than celebrating and promoting death, we must think about ways to protect and celebrate life.

As a fellow Dutch citizen I apologize to the Colombians people for having to share(d) their oxygen with this Dutch girl. I sincerly feel bad for her mother, however I would not like her daughter to come back to the Netherlands (alive)
