Heh... right at the end, Garry Tallent performs his role as the E Street Band's gatekeeper and allows Mr. Springsteen to proceed to the front of the stage.
Goose-pimples anyone?I believe I saw and heard Bruce live the first time in Stockholm in 1974-5, with my mates Tom and Sven and Gunnar. It's only got better ever since. The generousity of this man to to his audience and the band members
My favorite part is the fact that the crowd is already singing at the top of their lungs and Bruce is telling them "louder." Seeing the boss live is a life changing experience, I know ive been there. The only bigger experience would be seeing him live in New York.
James Brown never died . . . he and Hank Williams just decided to join up and form Bruce Springsteen. Honest lyrics from Country, and one of the best damn Soul/Rock bandleaders in the history of EVER.
To me he seems to be quite the opposite, the guy who doesnt look down on his audience and does all that is in his power to entertain them. When interviewed he never stresses his own significance for rock music. He seems as humble about what he does as a person of his stature can be.
@ChazioRose They call him "the Boss" because back n the E street's early days, he booked everything, did all the mule work and cut all the $ from gigs among the band himself.

I am not so enthousiastic as everyone is here. I like it but I do not think it it is great. He is out of breath and you can see he''s gettind old. It is a pity.
He's out of breath because it's the end of the show and the end of a tour. I've seen him in concert six times (I'm 18) and the experience is comparable to sex-- it leaves you both alive and breathless. He is the hardest working man in show business and the best live performer out there.
Yes, I agree. There is non like The Boss...he is SO agile on that stage. Its a regular work-out what he does on stage. Saw him in November, and he was amazing...his stamina. No wonder he is THE BOSS.
the thing that I love the most about this guy and this band is that they are in their 50's at this time. he is jumping off a freeking piano lol. but the fact of the matter is, for any of you that dont have this CD, this is only the 1st song on the 2nd second CD! He still had like 10 songs to sing! Look how much energy he puts into one song! I won't like every manager I'll ever have, but I'll always listen to this boss.
going to a Bruce concert is a life altering experience, they are that good. i have taken people who never liked Bruce to a concert and converted them into life long fans.

mad props to the e street band b/c they play this song really well, and props to bruce for his energy, but the way he sings this song is absolutely horrible. what a massacre of the spirit of the song as far as the main lead singing goes. wtf is wrong w/ singing it like it is on the born to run album, that shit sounded so good.

the only problem with the "iTunes" and CD audio version of this song is that they cut the intro in half.
