How to repair a LIPO battery at your own risk.

out of 22 lipos i have here from hobbyking only 2 have come posted with dead or low voltage cells 1 was run over buy a law tractor so i replaced it , .other 1 i puffed dew to lipo cut of disabling it self ,

replace it with this one ,no luck lol dam it

i just purchased some fresh lipos and 2 of them had dud sells reading low voltage.

i fixed one with the balance board .using the balance wires .with one good lipo plugged in at the same time . they self balance the cells . got the voltage back up , the other 1 i tried the same trick but it puffed 1 cell only i little ,took charge ok , but its a little puffed on one side .dam it

not sure if i should use it now. . or sent it back . to HK

@briansmobile1 Hum dam it ! thanks got it up to 8.2 /7.89 volt its not getting get hot i am discharging it now on a 206b icharger , , bring it back up see if it will balance ,pisses me off. 30 bucks wasted

yeah not worth the risk running it

i bet  it will burn up if i use it in my new boat 180amp esc pulling off it.. i been trying to replace 1 other that puffed to make up a pear.this is number 3

not having any luck the others were my own fault .

this worked for me on a battery that i shorted for only a tenth of a second while soldering a connecter on. if the battery is puffed or smoked or something, don't bother, just get rid of it because its a fire hazard and may explode in your face or burn your house down.

I have the same battery and to let the air escape I poked it with a needle. I think I hit the reversed cell. Now my battery will run but only a few min. I hope I can fix it anyone have an idea!

way to go !i had the xt60 female on the battery side but no male connectors yet. so i put on bullet ends .and one day - well it got hooked up backwards ,on anew battery -puff and smoke -, i was not happy . i tried to jump a cell but,it was the wrong one . now thanks to your vid i found the right one . thanks bud , [ got some male connectors on the way ,ha-ha ]

can you start your car with a 3s lipo I mean its got the amps get a 75c 3s with 5000mah that would be 75x5amps= 375amps get 2 of them in parallel would equal 750 amps THAT IS ALOT of amps or enough for it

i noticed that all the batteries that i have bought puff when i change the connectors. hobbytown did my connectors on a 2-cell it puffed. my dad did the connectors on a 3-cell it puffed. and my other 3 cell is fine because it already had traxxas connectors.

is it the connector or the battery?

@PROJ3KTJ30 Great question. The discharge rate that is made possible by a better plug causes heat in the battery. It's the HEAT that causes the puffing. If you got new plugs put on and then pilot like a granny you'll find that your batteries don't puff up.

hey what you need to do is when you solder your connecter you need to not have both wires exposed at the same time
