  • nice chains but this is not a snow dog!

  • @MrMagickent it's funny you should mention the dog. Pomeranians were bred down from larger dogs in the Spitz family and were used, for all things, for sledding. Interesting enough, Atlas the Pomeranian does quite well in snow. He hops through drifts of a few feet high. It's a lot of work for the little guy, but he does surprisingly well.

  • Chains on the front tires make a HUGE difference with braking (most braking is from the front brakes. When you drive down an icy mountain road, you will be SO glad you have them on the front! Steering is of no use if the wheels skid through turns, Put a set on the front tires! Make sure to use heavy-duty bungee cords to secure the chains. Try 9 to 3 o'clock and 12 to 6. You can secure any excess chain with the bungee cord hook, a plastic wire tie or cut off the excess with a bolt cutter.

  • Will do, thanks all around!

  • Hi Bruce, I saw you on news 4 and I have a 1990 Astrovan as well with rwd. I just ordered a pair of diamond snow chains for it, do you think I should get ones for the front as well? I only ordered for the back as its rwd. Funny I found you on youtube and your video for news 4 is the reason why I am ordering the chains! More ironic, I am the Pat Collins impersonator! (checkout my video) We are news 4 celebs :P Thanks Bruce! - Justin
