I've had loads of people insist the only explanation for these heads is that the people who made them could only have been African, because of the way the lips are carved. The rest of the Olmec art, however, has nothing in common with African influences. There are Mexicans that look like this head and they're not of African origin. I'm not entertaining comments about these being African or not. They're not, and that's that. If they were, we'd have lots of other evidence to support that idea.

Thank you. I was hoping for someone to post mtDNA evidence, which is a lot more reliable than, "dang... they sure LOOK like this guy I know..."
