  • Marbles, brave, Seasons end, really great albums, but lets not forget Sunsets on empire, Internal Exile, Suits and the new one: 13th star!! All these albums are a miracle. I can't and will never choose between (Post) marillion or fish. Both on their own way are really great and suprising. (srry for bad english ahaha!) And if fish would have been stay with marillion, without the problems in mind, they would have made other, but very great albums too, trust me, Really.

  • Rock legend at his finest.. !

  • is Fish pished on this?

  • my god the hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love this video i want more

  • Genial..........

  • What the fuck is that at 6:27?

  • @S0lidSnail CIRCLES??????? hahahahahahahahahaha

  • oh man..........thats bad!

  • He so is a master. Agreed. H in marillion now also has presence but of a different kind. A bow to them both.

  • Awesome my 2 year old son will be force fed fish !!

  • This vid makes me smile because the keyboardist, Foss Patterson, is playing my Roland JD-800. His had died as they arrived in San Francisco. That I owned the same long-discontinued synth was a stroke of destiny: I offered to loan it to Foss for the tour. You should have seen his eyes go wide as I was swept backstage to make arrangements with Yatta (tour manager). When I met Fish I was crushed in a 7-foot scottish hug, handed a glass of wine and a tour laminate. This was one happy fan!

  • @BugInMachine And the fantasic Frank Usher on gtr! :-)

  • onkel fish still rocks!!!

  • Long life to unkle fish ! From one of your fishhead fan !

  • brilliant..love watchin the big man in action.gotta get the nearfest dvd.

  • It's like the starfish analogy.......it matters for the one you throw back in....For me Fish is magical now as ever before.....and I always love his animated a la Joe Cocker style gesturing/posturing....NEMO IMPUNE LACESSITUS - rock on Derek !!!

  • Fish's voice is gone but I'm forever grateful for those four perfect albums. My other favourite band Rush can sum it up better than I can.

Some are born to move the world

    To live their fantasies

But most of us just dream about

The things we'd like to be

Sadder still to watch it die

Than never to have known it

For you, the blind who once could see

    The bell tolls for thee...

  • @rushlover12345 I couldn't have said it better! A quote from my favorite Rush song to describe how I feel about Fish... Brilliant!

    Thank you!

  • there is one gitrmike!!

    ian anderson from jethro tull!!

  • Fish has never been over shadowed by any other lyricist in Rock History. Fish is a master poet and lyricist. I cannot name one other singer in rock music who's lyrics are even half as interesting.

  • @gtrmike peter Gabriels post Genesis output is pretty interesting

  • @gtrmike

Well..... there is Fish indeed but there are other 2 in the gallery of the Rock Poets: Jim Morrison from Doors and Derek Shulman from Gentle Giant.

This is the Top 3 of the Rock Poets.

  • @gtrmike I don't know the lyrics, but I love "Mama" from Genesis / Phil Collins JAJAJAJ

  • im getting peed off with all these stupid comments. Fish is a master and this is some of the best music in existence on this earth

  • I love Fishhhhhhhhhhhhh...............

  • actually it sadeness me to hear him try to sing these songs his voice is shot

  • One proper record?

Are you referring to a record cut by your own useless, talentless waste of a garage band that you surely belong to, some Dream Theater wanna be knock offs who play like they've got sausages taped to their fingers who pose and whack pud on a 12'x12' stage at your local pub once a month because the owner doesn't want to lose your monstrously big monthly bar tab and he figures your fat butt outweighs the other patrons? THAT record?

    Fish, and Marillion, are legends.

  • What the hell are you on about? Better still, what the hell are you on? I'd think Fish has more talent in what little hair he has left than you might in your entire body.

  • screw you 100,000's of people go see them. I went to one of their concerts it was good, 50,000 ppl in huge fields some naked most smoking pot right infront of the cops

  • ooooo pot smoking at a marillion concert, IN FRONT OF THE COPS! The counter culture is on the rise, LMFAO, you pathetic cunt.

  • Fish is still the King... And luckily we have Hogarth who came along to save the band from the edge of obscurity. This band is indeed one of the greats - with Fish AND with Hogarth. Thanks to both!

  • Fish wrote all the lyrics and made us all imagine . At the time he was a genius/poet who never got the credid he deserved. He inspired me through politics and emotions throughout my early life and his lyrics still hold strong! He will always be my first Hero!!!!

  • I greatly prefer Fish-era Marillion, though you gotta give it up for Seasons End and Brave as stellar H efforts. That being said, it is a real shame to see how far gone Fish's voice is. Reminds me of Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull. He struggles with the power notes that made Fish the best frontman in rock, period. Great performer still, but the voice is shot to hell. That makes me sad.

  • I agree with this 100%. The whole Fish vs H. argument is now history. Fish's voice has completely gone. He can't compare with H. now. 20 years back, yes, he might have been the better vocalist.

  • Just to add a couple of things. 20 years back, Fish WAS the better vocalist. 20 years on, NOW H. is the better vocalist. However, Fish, for me, has always been more of a hero. His lyrics tower over anything post-Fish Marillion have done, but he's not a comparable musical force. Do any solo Fish albums (lyrics aside) equal BRAVE, AFRAID OF SUNLIGHT or MARBLES?

  • Oh, I don't know. In the end, aren't Fish and H. Marillion equal but different? Anyone who wants to make an informed judgement needs to know both very well. I can'r decide. But I love them both.

  • Me too. I can't make a choice. Both have so much going for them. Fish was fantastic, but H has also brought so much to Marillion. And if Fish had stayed, they would not have made such amazing albums as indeed Brave, Seasons End, and Marbles (which to me is good old school Marillion all over again, but then with the talent and versatility of H...), we got TWO different Marillions, and us fans are very lucky to have that...

  • I was lucky enough to see Fish in his first show in the US in SF in 2008. It kicked ass!!! It actually got transferred to a smaller venue because of a fire at the Fillmore. It was truly a classic night!!!

  • I like H Marillion...but LOVE the Fish era.

I didn't say so at the time, b ut in retrospect I DO wish the Marillos had chosen another name for the Fish era. They certainly had the RIGHT to continue with the "Marillion" brand name....I just wish they hadn't.

    MAG

  • Without Fish there is NO Marillion!!!!!!

  • this might be your personal dickhead-truth. but nobody cares.

  • Music is not a competition

  • This footage is awesome!!!! Thanks for posting.

  • The Fish era was great but out of own free will he broke up; I respect that. The other band members (incredibly) didn't lay down and die but found Steve. Making records for 20 years should prove something and deserves respect too. Fish is great and so is Hogarth and no, there's no way back. Just deal with it

  • Musicians are like hoors, if you look around you will see all these guys backing every other Scottish half arsed name going, I 've seen the keyboard player a mil time in Donnie Munro band etc...no souls these guys, its all about the red which is why they end up with nothing!!

  • fish rules every time

  • Stop talking about Fish or Hogarth.. both of them are great...

  • hogarth cant pull his weight. We need Fish back. The new marillion is empty and non-sofisticated.

  • You`ve got a right,Hogarth hasn`got charisma.I love Fish,for ever.

  • I agree totally!

  • i love fish xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Excellent!

  • Sorry, I listened to some songs of the actual Marillion - boring! Marillion & Fish, thats the real deal!

  • sorry, you're wrong. Marillion is the real deal, and marillion has nothing to do with fish anymore.

    Mr. H. is the man.

    watch?v=opDwT-DXkoI&feature=related

  • I listened to maybe 20 of their songs - not one was remarkable, nor can I recall any melody...boring, elevator music.

  • well, that's what YOU think ...and it's ok. never mind.

  • Marillion without Fish is totaly fiddrent band... to bad they didn't changed their name after Fish left...Fish was the real deal!! brilliant singging and performence :-)

  • "Marillion without Fish is totaly fiddrent band"

    nope.

  • sorry mate - i mean Different!!!!

  • Dfferent for worse.

  • Who are you to say something like that?

Are you a music critic or is just because your girlfriend loves H?

Marillion has gone down since the day Fish annouced his retirement from the band.

  • Who are you to say something like that?

Are you a music critic or is just because your girlfriend hates H?

Marillion has made several fantastic recordings since the day Fish annouced his retirement from the band.

  • Name only one great album post Fish........

    ALBUM not song

And yes I am a critic

  • each and every album post fish. take a listen and try to find out yourself.

this discussion is ridiculous. "critic"? your personal taste does not mean a thing.

  • by the way, don't get me wrong... fish is great.

  • Men you ARE SO WRONG!!!!

Marillion is good now but NEVER like before, the quality of the songs now are very low compared to a White Rusian or Sugar Mice or the great Forgotten sons!

    YOU are SOOO WRONG!

Take a pill and listen to Misplaced Childhood and write again.

  • Hi Guys, now I know what I missed, looks like it was a great show. Great video as well.

  • Stunning show Pete. Best concert I've seen this year by a long shot. At the end of the show we handed Frank Usher (the lead guitarist) a copy of " Cooper Hill live at Barrymore's" so I'm sure that he and Fish are now big fans of the band!!!!

    Slainte Mhath!!!

  • Fish indeed the king of rock and roll frontmen. True genius in his stage presence. Been at it a long time, and he has perfected the art.

  • fish...i love you...great, great, great
