Stupid Hollywood wanted to much control in making the movie and money. (I'm sure there were other reasons but I can't recall them at the moment.) So now the movie, last time I bothered to check, is on indefinite hold cause Hollywood knows how to make game based movies...District 9 was supposed to be a Halo movie but the guy who directed got fed up and did something else with a much smaller budget and it did well.
