I love what 200mg to 400mg does to me it seriously gives me a mood boost and I feel numb and happy and talkative and no pain at all. But it is addicting because of how terrible the withdrawal is. So I only take it when I really need to.

Physical addiction risk very high on this. Psychological generally not. It has a long onset and duration combined with a long come down with no subsequent craving or crash. Generally. It is addictive like all artificial ways to feel good and the body misses it if used at high doses very quickly.

@SvenTviking - You were lucky. I came off Tramadol 5 times now and each time I went through the worst hell. Intense pain in intestine, so bad that couldn't sleep a wink for 5 days. Really sudden depression, crying, loss of appetite, hallucinations. But mostly the pain in the gut was the worst. Intense.

@ckl0417 - I know not everybody suffers from this gut pain problem when withdrawing from Tram, but for some reason I do. And I wasn't misusing it either. But as far as I know the main danger of misusing Tramadol is taking too many at once and having a seizure. It's never happened to me but plenty of people have had them.

I much prefer vicodin and/or oxy's but they are hard to get consistantly without a lot of bullshit,, and do you really want to be addicted to them,,,, I know they are fun and feel great,, but really sux when you take the ast of them,, and then have to go thru the bs.. feeling sic and angry at DR for not giving more. @ikambor oxycodone is a great pain reliever it's extremely effective dude.. "not the greatest pain killer" is fucking stupid. Oxycodone is really potent shit. What makes tramadol great and what people don't understand is you can take tramadol regularly in the long term with pretty much no consequences but if you take any of the other narcotics (the non synthetic stuff) then you're looking at much more serious drawbacks. @ikambor ever notice you don't get any sort of crash when tramadol leaves your system unless you've been doing it everyday for a really long time and your body's completely used to it? The brain doesn't rebound and feel dysphoric after the tramadol high, it just goes back to normal. In strong doses tramadol does give you the same euphoria the stronger stuff does anyways..
Thoes babies helped me pass like 5 big test back in 10th grade, I don't know, but school was a hell of a lot more fun and easier with 4 or 5 ultrams in my system through the day, haha I was a stupid kid I guess, after a morphine withdraw I don't touch anything but a little green here and there.
I was taking 10 or 12 at a time at one point when I didn't realize how dangerous it was. As it turned out, I ended up having a series of seizures because of them, and that's how I found out about the danger. Seizures, in general, aren't necessarily THAT harmful, but it's where you are or what you're doing when you have the seizure that's bad. I never had one while driving, thank God, but I very well could have. They're also hell to quit. The withdrawal is absolutely horrible.
This drug caused me to have what seemed to be a nervous breakdown I was unable to comuticate with people and understand derections also I could not speak I spent four days in the hospital due to this drug

Combined with anti-depressive, effects the mind, and stopping the drug can cause sudden death for those who are able to stop in spite of it's high addiction rate. Many drug interactions can cause death especially OTC, they don't disclose this when it is prescribed. Drug companies want to make money and keep you on it forever.

@armitron77 Tramadol is not an "anti inflammatory," it's an opioid analgesic as stated in this video. Any opioid can iduce a coma, but Tramadol's biggest advesre effect is the high risk of seizure. By the way, any opioid that recuires at least 100mg to feel an effect is clearly an unsuitable choice, but I understand that beggers can't be choosers.

Ultram, Tramadol, call it what you like, it's the drug from hell. If you're a drug addict in the first place then I doubt this will give you much of a high. I can't believe all the silly cunts on here using this drug for a bit of fun. I'm talking about folk like me who use it for chronic pain purposes. My only advise is don't take it, trying to come off it is hell.
@Hertsman50 Been on it for 2 years, I generally withdraw after 3 months (8 x 50mg per day on average), I go for 3 to 4 days without then take half my dose for a couple more days and then do the same again. This method gives relief after pain where just cutting down seems to give a steady increase of discomfort and misery. Hope this helps and take it from me, at least it's only tramadol, heroin leaves tram withdrawals in the dust :(
@ninjatoothpaste thanks for your reply, if I just take one a day then do I still need to cut back for 3 or 4 days and then take them again? Tramadol seems to lose its effect if you keep taking them every day. As you say there is a steady increase of discomfort and misery when coming off them.
@Hertsman50 If you're managed to cut it down to 1/day and are still finding it pretty hard to kick the habit I would recommend trying taking 1 every 2 days, experiment to see what helps most, grapefruit juice helps with the metabolism too (for me it helped it work better) so try using half a tablet per day with some of that or if it's in capsules pour half the contents into a shot of grapefruit juice, it's really difficult to kick drugs so you just have to find what works best for you :)
I've had to quit a number of things, the hardest to kick was cocaine and amphetamines/mdma, ended up knocking myself out to escape that, I know what you're going through mate, if you're on them for life with a condition it's even more difficult too (my brother takes them and codeine for crohn's disease), I really wish you luck and if there's any way I can help or advise I will :) Good luck and keep a stiff upper lip n all that hehe!

@Hertsman50 Thanks :) I'm glad to be able to help out, also taking anadin (acetaminophen with asprin and caffeine) also helps in a similar way that it does with the flu, I tried that last week while I was withdrawing from tramadol, I find the first week is the hardest and then after the main withdrawals I'm left quite fatigued with butterflies (nerves) constantly for a couple of weeks, if I think of anything more that will help I'll let you know - all the best :)
@ninjatoothpaste I've just actually managed to come off Tramadol. I have kept it down to 1 x tramadol capsule per day for the past 5 days. For some reason I'm not in as much pain and not so depressed. I think my herbal tablets are helping me. I take a vitamin B complex, 3 fish oil capsules, 2 x magnesium capsules and 3 x anti inflammatory herbal tablets. I've been taking these herbal remedies with the tramadol. Yo, can someone tell me how to extract the tramadol from the tylenol? I cant find shit anywhere on the net its pissin me off...,...doctor said he wasn't giving me any more narcs, but then gives me this stuff. I use merely 50mg a day or less. My experience with Tramadol is good, I take the 50mg pill with a Goody's powder (aspirin, caffeine, acetaminophen). The first-time effect was very euphoric, happy, relaxed, in peace. I wish it was forever that good. After using it awhile there's no more euphoria, just feeling relaxed, less tension. I would not say it increases focus the way Adderall does, but the decrease in stress and stress-related pain is as good as increased focus for me. No crash or WD.

Trams r pretty weak, and if ur like me and only use perscription drugs to get high then it's really better economically to buy morphines or oxys (if u can get ur hands on them). Trams r easier to get presribed tho.
I suffer from NT and in my country, Spain. In some pharmacies u can get this drug despite of prescription is needed. I've been trying this drug in large doses and I was rashed to hospital cos I OD and I remember my vision was completly blurred. I can barely stand on my feet, a lot of troubles while walking so paramedics came home and they helped me to walk... I felt so confused and sick!! If you want to kill your pain please don't take large amounts of this shit or you'll die! Codeine is better.
If you start on Tramadol,you may graduate to Vicodin,Percocet,Oxycotin,and maybe Heroin. Then Suboxone. Have fun trying to get off suboxone! It may stop you from doing the forementioned but you will be stuck on Suboxone and making a doctor happy. Maybe. Just be careful.
I was suspicious about Tramadol at first, a 'synthetic opiod'....and was worried that I was taking 60mg celexa daily along with it. But, like many others here, I had to take it to avoid vicodin withdrawls, because while doctors loathe giving out vico/pero, they are A-OK with Ultram (strangely). Be careful on your dosing, I did 350mg after I hadn't taken it for a while and holy crap if I could put my finger on what pre-seizure sytmpoms felt like, that was it. Otherwise, it stops vico withdrawls
I take tramadol for pain (3 a day) and have been on it for a year. It doesn't take ALL the pain away and it's not meant to be used to make you feel high. It takes just enough pain away to feel like a human again and to get things done.
Because of the people that have scammed the health system with claiming they're in pain and selling off pills it's caused higher restrictions so doctors won't/can't prescribe the more useful pain relievers for people that need it.

This drug is addictive. I know I was addicted to it for close to a year. I would go through 180 pills in 3-4 days. I had seizures and almost died a few times. I took it for pain but then I had to take it because of how sick I got when I couldn't get it. I lost everything due to it and then had to get off of it. If anyone takes it, be careful.

I have chronic leg pain. Tramadol is the worst pain killer ever! It's doesn't do anything. My doctor told me that it's not addictive. He may be right because it didn't work at all. Soma didn't work too well either.

Bull, I totally disagree with the addiction comments. Maybe it is mentally addictive, I have been prescribed Ultram since I was 18 (10 years now) for chronic headaches. At first I was taking them as directed, then soon realized I enjoyed the buzz too much and started taking them at higher doses. I always run out weeks before I am supposed to and have never detoxed or gotten sick from stopping abruptly. Maybe its just me, but Ultram seems completely harmless and easy to quit.
Retarded? Maybe, but I never said I was taking 15 a day. Mathematically, it equals out to roughly 4 a day, which isn't insane. If someone is prescribed a medication at the age of 18 and it gives them a buzz, it is hard to not up a dosage when you grow a tolerance. I used to take ultram for pain, recreation and as a way to detox from opiates for a long time, but now I view these pills as a solution in need of a problem (like antidepressants) ... Let me try to make a long statement short: Use to be able to take 1 50mg tram and feel tight/euphoric for around 4+ hours. I used to operate on 3 50mg's a day and would feel somewhat euphoric all day. Had a two year period where I didnt use them. Found them again and immediately took 100mg's tram (didnt feel near as euphoric as it used to and I hadnt used this stuff in over a year at least). Final point: I can take ungodly amounts of tram and not feel as good as 1 50mg used to make me feel.
honestly I have been taking tramadol for almost two years every day of my life. I don't know if it really helps or not, but I do know that if I don't take it I get withdrawls and feel like crap. I also take regular opiates, but do not take them as often at all. As far as helping with pain, you would be better off popping some tylenol.

@SvenTviking - You were lucky. I came off Tramadol 5 times now and each time I went through the worst hell. Intense pain in intestine, so bad that couldn't sleep a wink for 5 days. Really sudden depression, crying, loss of appetite, hallucinations. But mostly the pain in the gut was the worst. Intense.

@ckl0417 - I know not everybody suffers from this gut pain problem when withdrawing from Tram, but for some reason I do. And I wasn't misusing it either. But as far as I know the main danger of misusing Tramadol is taking too many at once and having a seizure. It's never happened to me but plenty of people have had them.

I much prefer vicodin and/or oxy's but they are hard to get consistantly without a lot of bullshit,, and do you really want to be addicted to them,,,, I know they are fun and feel great,, but really sux when you take the ast of them,, and then have to go thru the bs.. feeling sic and angry at DR for not giving more. @ikambor oxycodone is a great pain reliever it's extremely effective dude.. "not the greatest pain killer" is fucking stupid. Oxycodone is really potent shit. What makes tramadol great and what people don't understand is you can take tramadol regularly in the long term with pretty much no consequences but if you take any of the other narcotics (the non synthetic stuff) then you're looking at much more serious drawbacks. This is why tramadol can actually be used for depression..

@ikambor ever notice you don't get any sort of crash when tramadol leaves your system unless you've been doing it everyday for a really long time and your body's completely used to it? The brain doesn't rebound and feel dysphoric after the tramadol high, it just goes back to normal. In strong doses tramadol does give you the same euphoria the stronger stuff does anyways..

I was taking 10 or 12 at a time at one point when I didn't realize how dangerous it was. As it turned out, I ended up having a series of seizures because of them, and that's how I found out about the danger. Seizures, in general, aren't necessarily THAT harmful, but it's where you are or what you're doing when you have the seizure that's bad. I never had one while driving, thank God, but I very well could have. They're also hell to quit. The withdrawal is absolutely horrible.

Banned in Europe, dangerous drug and not terribly effective for pain relief. Combined with anti-depressive, effects the mind, and stopping the drug can cause sudden death for those who are able to stop in spite of it's high addiction rate. Many drug interactions can cause death especially OTC, they don't disclose this when it is prescribed. Drug companies want to make money and keep you on it forever.

By the way, any opioid that recuires at least 100mg to feel an effect is clearly an unsuitable choice, but I understand that beggers can't be choosers.

@Hertsman50 Been on it for 2 years, I generally withdraw after 3 months (8 x 50mg per day on average), I go for 3 to 4 days without then take half my dose for a couple more days and then do the same again. This method gives relief after pain where just cutting down seems to give a steady increase of discomfort and misery. Hope this helps and take it from me, at least it's only tramadol, heroin leaves tram withdrawals in the dust :(

@Hertsman50 If you're managed to cut it down to 1/day and are still finding it pretty hard to kick the habit I would recommend trying taking 1 every 2 days, experiment to see what helps most, grapefruit juice helps with the metabolism too (for me it helped it work better) so try using half a tablet per day with some of that or if it's in capsules pour half the contents into a shot of grapefruit juice, it's really difficult to kick drugs so you just have to find what works best for you :)

I've had to quit a number of things, the hardest to kick was cocaine and amphetamines/mdma, ended up knocking myself out to escape that, I know what you're going through mate, if you're on them for life with a condition it's even more difficult too (my brother takes them and codeine for crohn's disease), I really wish you luck and if there's any way I can help or advise I will :) Good luck and keep a stiff upper lip n all that hehe!

@Hertsman50 Thanks :) I'm glad to be able to help out, also taking anadin (acetaminophen with asprin and caffeine) also helps in a similar way that it does with the flu, I tried that last week while I was withdrawing from tramadol, I find the first week is the hardest and then after the main withdrawals I'm left quite fatigued with butterflies (nerves) constantly for a couple of weeks, if I think of anything more that will help I'll let you know - all the best :)

@ninjatoothpaste I've just actually managed to come off Tramadol. I have kept it down to 1 x tramadol capsule per day for the past 5 days. For some reason I'm not in as much pain and not so depressed. I think my herbal tablets are helping me. I take a vitamin B complex, 3 fish oil capsules, 2 x magnesium capsules and 3 x anti inflammatory herbal tablets. I've been taking these herbal remedies with the tramadol. I'm determined to stay off tramadol. Thanks for helping and hope you're okay :-)

I use merely 50mg a day or less. My experience with Tramadol is good, I take the 50mg pill with a Goody's powder (aspirin, caffeine, acetaminophen). The first-time effect was very euphoric, happy, relaxed, in peace. I wish it was forever that good. After using it awhile there's no more euphoria, just feeling relaxed, less tension. I would not say it increases focus the way Adderall does, but the decrease in stress and stress-related pain is as good as increased focus for me. No crash or WD.

I suffer from NT and in my country, Spain. In some pharmacies u can get this drug despite of prescription is needed. I've been trying this drug in large doses and I was rashed to hospital cos I OD and I remember my vision was completly blurred. I can barely stand on my feet, a lot of troubles while walking so paramedics came home and they helped me to walk... I felt so confused and sick!! If you want to kill your pain please don't take large amounts of this shit or you'll die! Codeine is better.

I was suspicious about Tramadol at first, a 'synthetic opiod'....and was worried that I was taking 60mg celexa daily along with it. But, like many others here, I had to take it to avoid vicodin withdrawls, because while doctors loathe giving out vico/pero, they are A-OK with Ultram (strangely). Be careful on your dosing, I did 350mg after I hadn't taken it for a while and holy crap if I could put my finger on what pre-seizure sytmpoms felt like, that was it. Otherwise, it stops vico withdrawls

I take tramadol for pain (3 a day) and have been on it for a year. It doesn't take ALL the pain away and it's not meant to be used to make you feel high. It takes just enough pain away to feel like a human again and to get things done.
Because of the people that have scammed the health system with claiming they're in pain and selling off pills it's caused higher restrictions so doctors won't/can't prescribe the more useful pain relievers for people that need it.

This drug is addictive. I know I was addicted to it for close to a year. I would go through 180 pills in 3-4 days. I had seizures and almost died a few times. I took it for pain but then I had to take it because of how sick I got when I couldn't get it. I lost everything due to it and then had to get off of it. If anyone takes it, be careful.

Has anyone else noticed adverse reactions to nicotine while on tramadol? Specifically, whenever I intake nicotine on tramadol I feel sick to my stomach and sometimes throw up.

Yea i took 200mg and then put in a dip about 30 minutes later which almost made me throw up

for me i take it once a day, and it really makes me feel alert and happy. it doesnt me up like oxy or hydro. i love it. it should be used as an antidepressant

I have chronic leg pain. Tramadol is the worst pain killer ever! It's doesn't do anything. My doctor told me that it's not addictive. He may be right because it didn't work at all. Soma didn't work too well either.

i take 15 50mg tabs at a time
it does get you at these doses
but if you take it for awhile as i have, you develop tolerance and it takes more to work.
i started out taking like i was supposed to.
a pity those with chronic pain often have to resort to illegal measures to get relief
doctors wont face the facts that they turn normal people into criminals by forcing them to do whatever they have to do to get relief from whatever pain they have
they underprescribe more effective medication

Bull, I totally disagree with the addiction comments. Maybe it is mentally addictive, I have been prescribed Ultram since I was 18 (10 years now) for chronic headaches. At first I was taking them as directed, then soon realized I enjoyed the buzz too much and started taking them at higher doses. I always run out weeks before I am supposed to and have never detoxed or gotten sick from stopping abruptly. Maybe its just me, but Ultram seems completely harmless and easy to quit.

Retarded? Maybe, but I never said I was taking 15 a day. Mathematically, it equals out to roughly 4 a day, which isn't insane. If someone is prescribed a medication at the age of 18 and it gives them a buzz, it is hard to not up a dosage when you grow a tolerance. I think it is absurd that you would call that retarded, irresponsible maybe, but retard, not really.

I used to take ultram for pain, recreation and as a way to detox from opiates for a long time, but now I view these pills as a solution in need of a problem (like antidepressants) ... When they warn you of seizures don't think it doesn't or wont happen to you EVEN AT LOW DOSES. Ohh and look something up called 'serotonin syndrome'. Both are NOT FUN. But if you want to risk it to get high, just think about what a buzzkill flopping around on the floor and suffocating like a fish could be.

Just took 2 tramodol 50mg pills along with 3 darvocet 100/650s and I am fucked up right now. I am soooo sleepy, very hot, and feel dizzy and has a stomachache. I just want it to be over at this point I feel like shit think I took too much of it all.

this the same as tramodol? If so it does not work. Neither does Propoxyphen 100/650. I have very good insurance meanwhile I am paying 25 bucks a day for roxy 30mg 1/2 pill in morning and 1/2 pill at night. What should I tell my doc without sounding like a drug addict. I just want pain to go away not euphric effects. any suggestions. The roxys work wonderfully but they I dont want to ask because it will put up a red flag. Car accident I have screws in my foot and arthritus and bone spurs midfoot

this stuff is so addictive it has taken me YRS to get off of it with major withdrawals!!! yea I liked the way they made me feel but they also made me sensitive to cold too:(

Let me try to make a long statement short: Use to be able to take 1 50mg tram and feel tight/euphoric for around 4+ hours. I used to operate on 3 50mg's a day and would feel somewhat euphoric all day. Had a two year period where I didnt use them. Found them again and immediately took 100mg's tram (didnt feel near as euphoric as it used to and I hadnt used this stuff in over a year at least). Final point: I can take ungodly amounts of tram and not feel as good as 1 50mg used to make me feel.

honestly I have been taking tramadol for almost two years every day of my life. I don't know if it really helps or not, but I do know that if I don't take it I get withdrawls and feel like crap. I also take regular opiates, but do not take them as often at all. As far as helping with pain, you would be better off popping some tylenol.
