  • Every year Chrysle got there grubby hands on the engineering, and technology that American Motors Corporation and Willys created they made it worse. The Jeep Grand Cherokee uses 4x4 capabilities and quadra drive which was pioneered by AMC and only bought and rebaged by Chrysler. Every year when Chrysler made changes to the originally AMC Wrangler it becomes more and more like a scrap heap. Buy a REAL Wrangler, an AMC.

  • BELLA,,, MUY BELLA ,,,, LA LEYENDA CONTINUA !!

  • BELLA,,, MUY BELLA ,,,, LA LEYENDA CONTINUA !!!

  • bella... muy bella...la leyenda continua !!!

  • I had a 2005 Cherokee and loved it. I still miss it since giving it up in 2008 (company car and so I had to). I retire in 14 months and will get a new one for sure.

  • They really did a nice job with this new jeep.

  • tell me that the back doesnt looks like a bmw

  • @MrINVADER727 Not even close. Looks identical to a subaru forrester to me.

  • hm... so it has a built in 4.5" lift ? So I wonder what would stop someone from putting in some 2" spacers, doing some creative wiring. You'd end up with a 6.5 inch lift kit for like $40. throw on some 33's and your golden .....

  • @letterpool edit: by creative wiring I mean hack it / leave it in the 4.5" lift mode all the time...

  • ew thats sucks last model was SO MUCH BETTER!

  • @chicano0 you are so wrong

  • @chicano0 not even close bud. but good try

  • this jeep is awsome!I used to own a 95 jgc

  • i i put a lift kit n bigger tires will that mess with mt quad lift?

  • wait so at 1:00 min are those the select heights you can buy it at or is it a button you can push and lift one jeep different heights? so i buy one and can choose what height i need? regardless this thing looks great!!

  • @aaminjoshi91 You can select what height you want it at if the vehicle is equipped with the Quadra-lift- system

  • @FrahmDodge So if you get the quadralift sytem you can automatically choose your ride height? kind of like hydraulics? Man thats a REALLY REALLY nice feature i must say!!

  • @aaminjoshi91... Inside the car there is a dial that allows you to switch the 4x4 system to things like sand and mud, snow, rock, etc... and when selecting those conditions the Jeep automatically will adjust the ride height to best fit the driving conditions. Its a lot like Land Rover's system.

  • @TheStallion234 Thats really nice man!! Plus it comes with the hemi in it right? man that is the car to have i think!! This or a dodge ram lol!! but you cant argue with this!! i literally just told my mom this is the car to buy!!

  • @aaminjoshi91...I'm actually not exactly sure what the engine options are for the Grand Cherokee. I do know they're using a new V-6 but I'm not sure of the other options. I'm sure there will be a Hemi available at some point. It really is a nice SUV. If the build quality is what they're making it out to be, it would definitely be a nice alternative to its German rivals, cheaper as well.

  • @TheStallion234 Yeah Same here, but i just looked it and the options are these...They are all V6's man. Its a 3.6l V6. And all trim 3.6l make 280 horses. from the low end laredo to the overlands and 2wd and 4wd. Which i think is gay but this is a nice jeep regardless

  • @aaminjoshi91 , its over 295 HP for the v6 and I averaged over 24mpg on the highway at 65mpg yesterday. And the Hemi is available even though they are trying to get away from the name. If you drive the v6 nicely, it will save you gas big time compared to last years models. This v6 is nice.

  • @controlpopulation Are you sure? online its say 280 for each trim? well regardless thats still nice for a v6 and i think a v6 is all you need really. A hemi would be nice though i love v8's!! put some flowmasters on that hemi and it'll sound as great as it looks!!

  • @controlpopulation

What do you think the HEMI will get for MPG for this 2011?

  • @josh1303 , probably pretty close to the v6 on the highway, 24mpg+. Its around town that is the problem. The v8 is a machine and in my opinion the best motor period in a consumer car or light duty truck. I never had an issue with Chryslers Hemi line. I also just read that the new v6 in the Cherokee is made in America as well.

In my old 300C, I got 24mpg with that Hemi (below 68mph) so I am assuming with the newer Variable Valve technology in it, it will get better than that.

  • You don't need a range rover or an X5 to have a good SUV. This one is perfect. It looks great inside and out, it is unbelievably capable in just about every condition/terrain, and a highly upgraded interior. What more do you need? You could use this thing everyday, anywhere, and have no problems at all; where as the bimmer would suffer in several conditions and the range rover would be in the shops.

  • so is this thing ever coming out?

  • thats not a jeep, if you take this down a trail and it would break it in half, idk what jeep is doing anymore but they keep making stupid cars like this one, ever since the stopped making cherokee's they've been going way down hill.

  • jeep=terrain control

    land rover=terrain response

which one is the best off road technology?Think

  • Still lovin' my 2002.

  • @RaguelAngelofBalance Same here. But it's an 01. The best GC they've made.

  • @mtb416 See, mine has 4.7 V8, 5 spd auto and selec-trac so I can drive it in 2WD most of the time (all saves gas).

  • @RaguelAngelofBalance I have the 4.7 but with Quadradrive. Considering it's in "all-time 4wd" the mileage isn't really all that bad, for a 4wd that is. Without a headwind I can manage 22 mpg going about 70. But unfortunately where I live there is always a headwind, ha. The selec-trac offers a lot more room for upgrades.

  • @mtb416 Highway MPG I can squeak out 26 as my best.....and that is keeping at a steady 100 kmph or 60 mph. That fifth gear helps as does the 2wd. But you're right, in AWD its not too bad. The V8 has got gobs of power too! I couldn't imagine the 5.7 Hemi in that (lots of speeding tickets! :P)

  • BAD JEEP ! Do you belive the gear has just P , R , N , D there is no first gear or second gear or tibtronic system ! how could its be off roading and i ride it on the fourth gear ?

  • @HD13POWER i agree with you , but maybe the grand Cherokee designed for a city \comfy\ stylish suv , the 4x4 is just for safety on road :)) lets not forget they have the wrangler for fully and extreme offroad....

  • @MAGICKUWAIT ؟؟ I am not talking about 4X4 im talking about the transmission .

My BMW X5 M has over drive system , porsche has tiptronic , GMC and ford has this system also . but this jeep doesn't have the over drive system . thats what I see on the video picture . I hope not . wrangler bad v6 , you can bought a GMC 2500HD diesel V8 with automatic locking rear diffrental and 4X4 , tough suspension , 8 inch lift kit , alot of accessories .

  • @HD13POWER: i was also disappointed with no tiptronic so i did some research and came across this photo from motortrend's first look of the new GC... if you go to MotorTrends website and type "2011 Grand Cherokee in the search" you will get the article with the photo gallery...hope this helps...

  • this looks super cool, i want one

  • ugh these are so ugly. Bring back some ZJ love, Jeep!

  • I'm glad i bought my 2010 when I did it looks better then this one!

  • amazing i work for chrysler and i am super stoked

  • MIs Respetos... Es LA MEJOR...

  • It better not have CVT. DIE CVT.

Semi Auto will do me fine.

    5.7 Hemi petrol

fantastic vehicle it looks great in this video

  • Nice, Back looks SHIT!

I still may get one if I can afford it when it comes out, touch wood I will.

Only If it has a 5.7 Hemi engine though.

  • cant wait when someone will take it offroad, wana know how is suspension, and it looks great, even too much, more like lexus suv,lol great doned,

THEY DIDNT HAD IN PORTLAND TOO :(

  • does it come on diesel ???? almost looks like a gmc product

  • this is very nice

  • so if you add a 4.5 in lift kit on it then what you have is an very capable cherokee with a 9 in lift =] great stuff

  • The best look for the GC was 2005-2010. I wish they would bring back the normal XJ Cherokee. I love my 1994 with the 4.0

    I6.

  • Thanks for posting this because it didn't show up at the Houston, TX Auto Show January 27-31, 2010.

  • funny thing is it didnt show up in the DETROIT AUTO SHOW...the hometown of chrysler and the state where it was designed lol stupid huh?

  • I don't care about all the posh stuff but I really like the idea of the Select Lift. Chrysler - bring one of these out to Jeepskool so we can really test it out for you.

  • im trading my 05 4 one, but i think they might be getting a bit softer looking i like a rugged looking 4x4

  • i love it, its just great, i will like to have one, go jeep OIIIIIO

  • the car isn't even out yet

  • He works for chrysler so he gets it a year early for testing.

  • does he like it? im prob getting one of them with everything in it, i just love jeeps

  • Jeep La mejor de todos los tiempos hasta en venezuela..!

  • I like Jeeps and all, but didn't Toyota already put out something similar to the quadra-lift air suspension? or was it an after market mod?

  • I don't remember Toyota offering That but I know for a fact that Land Rover Has it standard on all models

  • As a Proud owner of 5 JGC the New 2011 is the creme de` le creme of SUV's. When Spring 2010 around I will be at my Local Jeep dealer with money in hand. Welcome home #6.

  • Nice man. Have they been reliable?

  • Most definately I followed the matinence Schedule and all of My Jeeps are fast approaching the 300k mark On Milage and all 5 are still going strong

  • Nice. What model years are your Cherokees?

  • 91 Cherokee Sport , 95 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited,99 Grand Cherokee Limited,98 Grand Cherokee Limited, Of the 5 the 5.9 Limited is my favorite .

  • Why so many Cherokees lol?

  • I was with a friend sometime back , He had a Grand cherokee , we were driving home with some girls and another driver stopped short causeing my friend to over compensate and rolled the Jeep 8x's we all should have been dead but the GCJ saved us we all walked away with just minor glass cuts I ahve Been hooked on Jeeps since then

  • Dang that's crazy glad to hear every one was OK I got a 93 Jeep Cherokee Country with 222,050 miles and its still going strong I love Jeeps my brother had a 95 Cherokee riding in his got me hooked. I want the 2011 so bad I think its one of the best looking suvs to come out in a long time.

  • Comment removed

  • hopefully they bring back the solid front axle like in the models before the wk......

    doubt it ha

  • IMHO, the air lift sys wont be a good selling point either a good feature on a JEEP. I had owned a land rover not long ago, the air lift suspension just kill the joy when go off road, plus, you need pay more to repair when they stop work which happens alot on land rover....BTW, what's wrong with round headlamp???? 2011 GC just looks like a Suzuki....

  • This new Jeep Grand Cherokee is going to be one the best luxury SUVs. Its very modern looking yet capable. Its very much Jeep and 21st century too. I love it.

  • 'Doubledee90' I was clearly talking about the luxury SUV segment when I said the Jeep GC is capable. Yes the Jeep Wrangler is the most capable SUV out there compared to all the SUV segments. But when you look at just luxury SUVs (BMW X5, Volvo XC90, Escalade, etc.) the Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the more capable ones. And to add: No, the Jeep GC is not going to go rock climbing with the Wrangler.

  • ah yes, but the thing is, the Grand Cherokee used to be very capable, and they made it terrible. I dont know why we cant have both, luxury and off road capability.

  • Yes the original Jeep Grand Cherokee used to be more capable than the newer generations, yet more and more Jeep GCs are being used on-road far more than off-road nowadays. However advancements in off-road technology, like air suspension and electronic 4x4 smart systems (i.e.: hill start assist, hill decent assist, traction control for mud, sand etc.) have made the 2011 Jeep GC more versatile in certain areas than the original solid front & rear axle model.

  • We can say that the focus of the GC has changed to an SUV that favors on-road performance without sacrificing much off-road capabilities.

  • Jeep needs to serve a diverse customer base, more than "serious off roaders". Think about all the Jeeps sold today, a good portion go off dealers lots without 4 wheel drive. And the whole point behind incorporating the electronic systems (which are very reliable) is to allow more people to go out off-road without being a serious off-roader and adding after market items. All companies start somewhere but they need to change and adapt or they will become extinct.

  • Jeep still has the best 4x4 vehicles out there so they still hold true to their roots.

  • Very well put there dainger15. Jeeps still have the options for serious off roaders and others who like to have the 4x4 for tough road conditions like snow and mud. If jeep only sold Wranglers, they wouldn't be in business anymore! lol

  • I could Not agree more Nowadays JGC are the most versatile suv;s on the road .

  • i dont like this.

the suspension is sick, but its becoming less and less of an offroad vehicle.

juss look at it its lookin like a van or an mdx or an m3.

    ugh.

    stickin with my WJ!

  • Hmmm...

I still have not heard nor read one thing about this vehicles Handling or Performance (on or off road). What kind of numbers and times is it getting compared to Real Performance SUVs (X5, FX50, Cayenne, ML)?

Why hasn't anyone from Jeep posted run times and numbers?

  • The same here...I cant find anything on it. Why release a new jeep with no stats? I need to know and feels how it handles as well. I feel u Snapper.

  • 'Snapper314' & 'clementsHall1992' The all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was just announced. Jeep will most likely post numbers on track performance once all tweaks have been made for the final production model. It's safe to say to expect better performance numbers than the current generation Jeep Grand Cherokee.

  • i love my xj but this jeep got such awsome suspension tech,,but lets be seriose doesn't it look like (bmw x3)from the back ,,but i like the glass roof of this jeep

  • you are AN idiot iff you are comparing this new jeep whit that pice of sheet toyota 200 land cruiser jjajaja

oo guys brand new 5.7 hemi v8 380 hp and 408 of torque and a new 3.6 v6 whit 280 hp

  • 4.5 of lift and it came whit 18 inch rims i thinck that they would fit easy 33x12.50 easy

  • wooow cant wate to it come out it looks sick if you a agre wih me hola back

  • sick lifts itself

  • i wonder what the msrp will be on it

  • love it but the wj is much better when it comes to offroad

  • Definitely could be much more squared off.

  • it so looks like a toyota from the back!

  • yea im definitely getting the toyota vibe from the tail lights

but i dont think it looks bad at all

  • I'm happy with my WJ 4,7

  • i am buying this when it comes out!!

  • Woow I love this new Grand Cherokee!
