  • Some people can't see colors, some can't smell, some can't hear and others can't feel Empathy. Someone who doesn't feel "Empathy" views other human beings just as furniture. They are not evil, there is just something broken inside them, they are just indifferent to other humans. These people are said to have Asperger's Syndrome.

  • I do not understand America's obsession with cats. I have never heard of a police cat, rescue cat, cadaver cat, sheep cat, sled cat, hunting cat, bomb sniffing cat, drug sniffing cat, or anything useful. Cats provide little beyond companionship and occasional mouse hunting duties in rural areas.

  • @FlawdaFootball Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur...

  • spay and neuter and live in bliss

  • Cat Gentlemen, LOL!

  • @meg3325, you're obviously a very small-minded person. Why the hell should someone have to "just have one cat and actively date men" if that's not what they want? Men can be assholes, some of them treat women horrifically, some of them are violent, and even the best ones are likely to hurt you at some point. A cat will never hurt you, physically or emotionally. I understand these women 100 percent. They're not hurting anyone, leave them be.

  • @wotANIMATION "A cat will never hurt you, physically or emotionally." That's the point. It's the completely safe. It's avoidance and anti-social. They've become emotionally crippled and can't or won't go back out and interact with people in a normal way, instead retreating into a perfectly safe fantasy world.

  • This behavior isn't normal. It's hoarding and social avoidance. It's unhealthy for the women and the cats too. Single women should take heed and never go down this road. Just have one cat and actively date men. I was shocked that a young woman in this video would choose this lifestyle. If she continues along this path, she will end up crazy and alone with no man.

  • what...is wrong with her

  • @AngryActivist45 it's more disturbing when very rich people do not give any money to charity, at least they do some good to cats, most people do not do any good neither to humans nor to animals

  • i had a bobcat. does that mean he equaled 5 cats?

  • I'm fine with just one cat. My cat already drives me crazy

  • Well perhaps you should be in the business of convincing drug addicts, the poor, and the unable and the mentally deficient to STOP reproducing? We DO pay for that damn dumpster kid. ITS CALLED SSI AND WELFARE. The fact that the productive are penalised by having to support the socio-parasite is DISTURBING. I'd take a crazy cat lady neighbor over Momma Welfare and her 12 crack babies ANYDAY.

  • As long as the house is clean and the cats are taken care of its ok. But all too often these people do not have the money to take them to a vet when needed. I have 7 cats. I make good money and its very expensive to take care of these seven. But they do mean so much to me.

  • my mother is one of those crazy cat ladies. and they are in fact CRAZY. its a disgusting environment and there's a reason for the law of no more than 6

  • Anyway I can watch this full documentary.

  • @minnieclips letmewatchthis has it

  • @theophilis Thanks I will have to check it out and see if i can watch it.

  • @minnieclips cool i wasnt sure if youd get what i was saying they wont let me put the dot com at the end of it lol

  • @theophilis I googled it I am just trying to find a safer way of getting it and having a copy of it if i can download it in real player download feature I can upload it to youtube.

  • More crazy cat ladies = Less cats shitting on your lawn and more room on animal shelters. YOU PEOPLE OUGHTA BE GRATEFUL.

  • 1:25.

    They just don't tell you.

  • i don't see anything wrong with it

  • sci fi just cant get enough of it on tv - even though this is a little corny as its hard to take the girl from lost going to be on two shows at the same time soon - anyway online watch V Streaming -dot - info

  • at least their homes are clean

  • omg your house would stink!

  • holy shit, the woman who makes that weird screetching noise lives in my building, I kid you not!! Yeah, she's nuts, I can vouch for that

  • Just so you know, this documentary is part of a series called "Secret Lives of Women" on WE network. If you have comcast its on demand under WE tv.

  • When I saw this on 20/20, I thought this was so sad. My sister and I talked about this and came to the conclusion that when women feel lonely, they get these animals for companionship, but when men become lonely, they seek revenge. Not compassion. We see the way my other sister acts when the neighbor's cat strolls by and pray that she doesn't end like this though. It's heartbreaking.

  • no.

  • google "human toxoplasmosis and cats" and you'll find an explanation

  • Excuse my language:

...but I fucking knew it! I did read up on it, and just like I said, cats do "make" someone crazy (or in the case of that disease mentally unstable in some cases). I want you to show that link to anyone who disagrees with me. I have the site where I found the information "favorited" to my browers. I'm going to print it up as soon as I'm done with work.

  • I do not disagree with you cause I really don't know anything about it but it does sound interesting... could you show it to me, please?

  • Do a Google search for "Toxoplasmosis".

  • @Badger9001 ahahaha ok um wow so our going to print it out, why? What are you trying to prove buddy. You think cats make people crazy? No dude, I can tell you dont like cats, you dont understand them , you dont understand why someone would like them. So basically because your too dumb to understand why someone is a cat person you equate all them as a bunch of loonies To top it all off your saying you have found the proof to your claim by your dumbass link which DOSENT prove shit i looked it up

  • @Badger9001 There has not been alot of research done on the link between toxoplasma and psychiatric disorders, nothing is proven, not even close. And since the chances of contracting toxoplasmosis from a cat are pretty much next to none (i can cite that oh,like 10 times) cats do NOT make people crazy and only a ignorant douche like yourself would think of something so obviously biased then look it up ignoring obvious valid information but here you are thinking your sooo smart.

  • when obviously you cant read or just ignored shit, cause it took me like two mins to disprove your idea. Ever think of this the people in this documentary may not be stable, but it isnt caused by their feline friends. These women feel lonely, when they see a cat wandering the street they feel bad for it cuz its alone too, so they take it home. Not that hard to figure out. What a idiotic idea that cats somehow just make people crazy that some shit from the days of irrational thought (middle ages)

  • contingocoins speaks the truth. The parasite toxoplasma gondii affects human behavior.

  • @Badger9001 Like I said your a dumb mother fucker. I own cats so I must be crazy, hmm ok watch me continue to "prove" your a idiot like you were going to "prove" that Im crazy with your fucking retarded internet print out. First off, the chances of getting toxioplamosis from your cat are very low, second there has yet to be a proven case of human toxioplasmosis transmitted from cat to human, experts agree its mostly transmitted through undercooked meat. *contd i

  • Really?single women with cats are all pathetic losers with mental illness? Would you ever in a million years imply that a single guy with 3 pets is somehow a societal joke? Shame on you for your sexist sorry excuse for journalism.

  • Well this fascinating, delving into the lives of cat women, to see what drives them to these limits and without the discrimination of being called a crazy cat person.

  • I wouldn't mind watching this documentary some day.

  • that was depressing

  • Im together w a future crazy cat lazy, help me!!!

  • I think the people who brag about killing animals for fun are as mentally ill as the women in the video who can't control their cat-collecting.

Sadism is not a commendable quality.

  • i fully concur. youtube needs to get rid of these sick fucks.

  • You are not suitable to have an opinion about a cat's status in the world, as you have less intellectual swordplay than an anchovy.

  • @nineinchtaint

superstisious dumb fucks like your self should get with the program and evolve. Grow a brain maybe?

  • To live in such filth. We had a cat lady neighbor a few years back, and you can smell the urine several houses down.

  • Guess you have to get your love somewhere if you cant get it from another person. Gah this is kinda sad.

  • @Amy4000 it is sad, and its excessive. I mean I love my kitty but I would NEVER have that mant.

  • There's shit and hair everywhar.

  • Awesome idea for a documentary.

  • that one cat lady is fine

  • She's got a nice pussy.

  • ya but she prob has mad mental problems

  • prob. a freak in bed

  • I've smelt how bad 2 cats can get in a locked up house... imagine 160... wow the amount of feces makes me shivver

  • absolutely disturbing

  • veddy interesting.

  • the girl at 2:28 i hot, anyone got her digits?

  • Comment removed

  • LOL @ "It's just that... I'm their mother." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • I don't think loniless is the big issue here. We're in 2009... most of us are lonely, even maried and with children.

  • I have 49 cats in my house and it's not a problem because the big ones take care of the little ones, so I am only looking after 12 big cats at most.

  • hahahahahahahaha ........ hhahahahahahaha ....... ahahhahahaha ....huh, wtf?!?

  • LOL

  • do the poop all over the place???!! ew!!!!

  • Cats are just about the cleanest animals of all and never poop all over the place if they have a choice. Of course, if you leave the litter box uncleaned for a long time, a cat won't use it.

Anyway, I can't imagine having more than maybe 3 or 4 cats myself...

  • So basically all these women are suffering from the same mental issue. Loneliness. They can't get a guy so they substitute him with cats.

  • This right here.

  • @1deviousbastard: Every woman can get a guy if she really wants to. That's just a matter of lowering your standards, until you end up with some dumb, ugly and crippled motherfucker, who can't read, write, doesn't have a job and beats the shit out of you.

But you'd have a warm body to call "your guy", so you're not 'lonely'. :)

Face it: realizing the above, it's safe to conclude that it's their own choice to live this kind of life. Maybe because they know what to expect from animals?

  • This looks interesting. I'd like to see it.

  • a homeless guy should dess up as a cat and get saved by a crazy cat lady. Live in there house and maybe have intercourse with said crazy cat lady.

    Just sayin

  • this reply owns

  • I'd have a nervous breakdown if I had that many cats living with me.

  • Also, Feral cats do not live a good life outdoors. They are not wild creatures, they are domesticated, and either they or their parents used to be loved pets and were dumped. They get no vet care, no steady food, no clean water, no warm shelter, and no love from anyone. It's not pretty catching the cats because they are scared, not because they like suffering outside.

I have a former feral kitty who is so affectionate and LOVES being warm, safe, and indoors.

  • Yes, many homeless cats are abandoned domesticated cats, but it only takes about three years for them to become feral (wild).. Also, many homeless cats who are feral are born in the wild and were never domesticated.

  • There is a difference between a feral cat and one that is wild because of environment. True feral cats when raised even from kittens in a good environment will still be wild. Trust me, have experience with this scenario.

  • I rescued two kittens from a litter of feral kittens by a feral mother who I can guarantee was never a pet. She was so wild and mean that the SPCA couldn't adopt her out and she had to be put down. The kittens were so sick and full of worms that 2 of them died (4 survived including our 2). Something had bitten off 5/6 of the kittens' tails off and when we found them, they all had bloody, infected stumps where their tails should have been.

    (Cont'd...)

  • They had been living beneath some concrete steps and getting in & out through a crack, we think a fox or something would chase the kittens into the crack and only nip the ends of their tails. They were definitely born with tails.

Both of the kittens we took in were extremely wild. One was a boy, who got hit on the road when he was about a year old and his sister to this day is wary of people and only uses the litter box in the winter - and only 60% of the time - when she won't go outside.

  • The rest of the time she craps under my husband's desk and she's been doing this since the beginning. She's now almost 4 years old.

And yes, both cats were fixed and fully vetted. The thing is, truly feral cats, ones that come from a few generations of feral cats as ours did, are rarely the same as domesticated cats, even with the best food, veterinary care and all the love in the world.

  • Interesting-I'm going to watch this on TVO, Sept..30. I just need to check the time. I have a huge problem with the idiot cop saying that hoarders and cat rescuers are "essentially the same"-what? So if a person rescues animals they are automatically lumped in with the crazy nuts who leave the animals in filth (hoarders) ? I think there is a limit to the amount of animals one should have, it depends on the space, individual attention, and if the rescuers have volunteers to help out.

  • I think he means they both are alike in that they have a desire to save these cats. Hoarders think they are saving them, and the rescuers really are doing so.

  • @jillianjiggs84 yeah a hoarder and a cat rescuer are definatley not the same thing.

  • I have 4 and that's plenty. How can she give all those cats any individual attention...and what does it cost to feed all those cats, and get veterinarian care etc etc...Humane euthanasia is a moral choice for many of the homeless and unhealthy animals these women bring home...and hey...don't men ever do this ???

  • Never, ever heard of a man doing this. It seems its maternal instinct run wild.

  • @jfayiii You havent hear of men doing this, but they have.

  • wow its actually clean

  • So when or how do we watch this documentary?

  • As long as care of the cats is taken properly they can have 100++ cats and I wouldn't mind. I kinda liked what the last lady said :)

  • I feel bad for these ladies. The one who said she was lonely broke my heart. I love cats too, but there is no way I could take care of 15. I can barely keep up with the 2 I have now. I really want to see this documentary.

  • That agent who thinks cats should be left outdoors to fend for themselves -- I hope he is not working for a rescue organization!

  • Comment removed

  • I realize that. I have two beautiful recovering ferals in my home, who have NO desire to EVER be outside again. There are many fostering agencies that specialize in working with ferals, to socialize them, and get them adopted into loving homes. My kitties have been more challenging than other cats I've had, who came from a nice background where someone just didn't spay their cat, but they are loved, and they love and trust me.

  • :32

  • My mom has 14 cats, all neutered but that is still too many. I think these women are looking for love in all the wrong places. They feel good because they think the cats need them. Sad.

  • One word: Toxoplasmosis

  • Toxoplasmosis is more often caught from improperly cooked meat, especially lamb, pork and beef.

  • Stageacter, Toxoplasmosis can be transmuted via air from cat waste to. 50% of americans have it.. it is also a brain parasite.

  • I think you meant "transmitted", and you are right, it can be transmitted from cat waste. But it is *more* common to get it from undercooked meat. Even pregnant women can scoop litter boxes, with just a couple of precautions, like a simple mask that you can buy at the pharmacy, and gloves.

  • hahahaha sorry about spelling that wrong... ugh firefox word check did that to me :(

  • Well, "transmuted" *is* a word. The inherent problem with spell-checkers. I get "gotten" every time I use one, it seems. Like all those people who spell "lose" with two "o"s. Well, there is a word spelled "loose", so the spell-checker is just as happy as can be. grin

  • yes yes I spelled transmitted wrong :(

  • Yeah thats um yeah thats all bull shit sorrry.

The only way you can get toxoplasmosis is if infected cat shit is ingested, like ya know, in your mouth. And no 50% of peopel dont "have" it, cause one if you ever get it you dont carry it, it go's away or its treated then guess what, you cant get it again after you have been infected with it once.

  • @redandjonny hmmm please elaborate cause i bet i can disprove it

  • Everyone needs something... at least they found what works.

  • I knew of at least one lady who kenneled even more cats in a gutted out trailer home. When she died of natural causes, she left some 40+ cats behind. Get your pets fixed.

  • I think the one with a hundred cats must be stealing some... I bet not all of those cats she finds are homeless.

  • These ladies houses must smell like cat dump. So gross!

  • This paying at Hot Docs in Toronto May 1. It looks totally amazing

  • i want to see it

  • Do you know where I can view this entire documentry? I am dying to see it
