  • it's about time...

    better looking and spacier interior

how long has HK people have this, like 10 years already?

  • I actually saw one of these trains parked just outside that garage between Wilson and Downsview Station, it looks really cool! Also, the new trains are supposed to be put in service in 2011.

  • I wonder if the new subway will smell like poo to?

  • just seen the new train this morning at Downsview....they were test running it

  • First, 2009 then 2010 now 2011? TTC is terrible...

  • The TTC now says in 2011, but that might become 2012, 2013, 2014, and etc...

  • where is the new ttc

  • Uhh... I guess this new Subway isn't coming out in 2009.. Lol. I actually do not know when it comes out. If I ever feel like finding more info about this new subway I will..

  • ITS COMING OUT 2099 YOU MISS READ THE 0

  • @angelsaints00 I come in peace.

  • Death trap, seriously.

If someone opens fire in an older car, at least people can evacuate to another car, with this new design, there's simply no place to run, no place to hide.

  • I'm sorry, I didn't realize we regularly got fires on our subways. You don't think they don't have fire suppression systems and make the interior out of materials that don't support combustion? FYI, if here is a fire on the train you STOP IT and evacuate the train.

Seriously, some people have nothing better to do than look for problems to complain about.

  • @Kutter78

I'm talking about firing a gun. There is no place to hide on the new ones, you'd get shot because there was no place to go.

But on the topic of fires, it would be harder to stop the new trains, nor is there an option to disengage couplings to separate cars in the case of a fire.

I really think you should READ before replying.

The other problem is that the car yards are not equipped to handle the new trains. Extensive renovations are needed to support them.

  • I don't like it. Bring back the old red open-window subway cars from the 70s.

  • i know the new streetcars are due in 2012. These will be a bit sooner. Dont expect to see them for awhile yet though.

  • The inside looks almost exactly the same. blah.

  • well guys i hope u will enjoy the train that all of us will buy, yes the TC has lots of money but they never gonna loose so who will pay ? us, so be ready to see TTC fare, up in the sky

  • For those who want to know I think that they might be in Toronto around mid July 2010

  • HELLO WHERE are these trains???? LOL

  • Nice! I Wonder what the real thing will look like.

  • hmmmm its mid though 2010 and no new trains ??? these are needed now

  • Well the first quater of 2010 is almost over now and I wonder where these trains are...

  • where is the new ttc subway i was in toronto i didnt see one either

  • its 2010. i never see one...

  • The sleeping fare attendant was the 2010 major improvement too!

  • they really shit the bed with it coming out in "2009"....the city is so broke lmao...but i cant wait to park my ass in one of those bad boys lol

  • It's now 2010.

It should could in the first quarter of the year

  • its 2010 i never saw this subway in the ttc. what happend to it? does anyone know

  • Doesnt matter if it's a new train. Service will still be shitty.

  • @splatt16 Yeah, a train or bus is only as good as the system that runs it. When there's a problem on the tracks, that's when the TTC really falls apart.

  • 2009 is almost over, I have not seen the new trains yet.

  • deys should have leather seats and surround sound speakers with mini fridges and washrroms dawg,.

  • especially with the kind of music that is on this video. It's, like, totally pimpen' daddio. shiiiit.

  • @cheezycam haha!

  • They probably coming out this month or December.

  • not until the new year now

  • Yeah, I notice that a couple of days ago.

  • how fast?

  • I'm not sure, If i can find any information on the speed. I'll inform you about it.

  • Thats how the seats in the nyc R44 train

  • There coming out 2010

  • Actually were not quite sure when they'l actually be rolling on the tracks because they could be pushed back for quite some time.

  • well it looks cool and all cept the seats still look exactly the same.

whats the big difference in them? less squeeking? do they go faster?

like ya good job but im prety sure other countries have way better subways than this. could be wrong tho.....

  • looks bigger then the ones now:O

  • At least one should be on the tracks soon since they said they will start rolling out in 2009 and it's almost over. Well at least I hope so because I'm getting really tired of seeing and riding these old one's all of the time. Common, it's time for the future already Toronto!!

  • when are they going to come out

  • I'm left breathless!!!!! Sweet train!!!!!

  • WOW its been diffrent senice i was in toronto...

  • lol when was that.

  • last year in august o.o and supprisingly the seats are still the same.... OH YEAH ONCE WHEN I WAS ON THE SUBWAY i helped a random guy get to where he wanted to go and he was giving me a foot rub but i told him to give it to ryan and me and some other guy were laughing at ryan

  • LOLOLOL why would u wnat a foot rub from a random guy, seem strange.

  • LOL i didnt do it but he just did it o.o

  • I like the trains we have now. Old memories..

  • oh im sure they'll be around for a looong time even after these trains come into service

  • @BlGGlE Ttc would be beter off just rebuilding trains they already have. they can be rebuilt much cheaper. In New york they run up till 30, to 40 years or more, with rebuilds, good preventive maintnancing. Trains they have recently replaced could of still been running with better preventive maintnancing, another rebuild. Trains NYCTA replaced wher deliberately ran pratically into the ground. Maintnance they needed was ignored on ones recently replaced.

  • @gmcfishbowlbuses True. But they probably won't be spending much right now cause of the LRT service they're about to start.

  • Some of our trains are already between 30 and 35 years old and are being sent into retirement. That's why we've got the new Rocket trains coming this year.

  • WE do not need these trains coming. Why not just buy normal subway trains, like the TTC bought from Bombardier around 1997.

  • Normal subway trains? If these aren't 'normal' then what are they?

  • @EasternBlok Normal subway trains are like the ones the TTC already has, not this new design. These trains are all in one piece. one car breaks you just cannot detach it, with another one.

  • @gmcfishbowlbuses you cant have one long, continuous car. How is is suppose to turn? If you look at 0:33 you will see there is a divide that passengers can move freely through. This separates the 2 distinct cars, and is where the subway bends.

  • @mariusbleek This new design it is one continuous car with bends, it is dangerous, if there is a fire, there is no place to hide, you cannot simply just go to the next car.

  • @gmcfishbowlbuses Who cares? Let the cheap bastards burn!

  • ttc needs a upgrade with way more subway lines and better service

  • I can't wait till they arrive!

  • if the service during rush hour is always delayed by some "electrical problems" then it doesn't matter if this is made out of gold. when service sucks this is all pointless.

  • agree with you completely. TTC by far is the worst subway system when compared to the montreal metro. That system is fantastic and its really fast and because of the tires no unpleasant noises.

  • WOW , Orphan Gordie Loves it !

  • wow thats cool the traincars are like unce ucne unce unce

  • LMAO

  • Lol, i had to say that. i say that when things look cool o.0

  • how's it going to turn.??

  • Simple, the conecting bellows that seperate the train are flexible

  • i dont see why they cant make the trains like montreal all the wheels are pneumatic..

  • Sure

They almost finished making them there coming out in a few moths

  • Really??? That was fast

  • I hate it!!

  • I agree. Number 1 I do not like the look. Aerodynamic is aerodynugly. Automation. More hightech you get, the more things can go wrong. Tougher to fix. Too expensive. Older trains can be rebuilt and runned 12 more years. much cheaper than buying these.

  • Good point, and think about this...what happens if the train has a mechanical problem. Worst case senario is that this train is all in one unit, where as the trains we have now can be split up and can still run paired to another trainset....try doing that with these...not gonna work

  • @046547717 If ttc wants to buy new trains, they should buy the new ones made by BombardierR160s, that New York City transit recently bought. Those trains in this video do not even look like subway trains, they are in most cases all one unit, unlike current ones they can be interchanged with other cars of the same set, from other trains.

  • will there still be a conductor?

  • yes even if the line is automated. there will still be drivers on board.

  • It's articulated?

  • Sexy....

  • Smexy :D

  • looks more like asian trains don't they?

  • Lol Kinda

  • and people would ruin it in 2 weeks..

  • i don't think so.. They have cameras now.

Beside alot of people use the subway which makes it harder to vandalise

  • i hope htese trains implement bike friendly feature or the new bijke rack project for the buses is sure to be a waste

  • I hope so to :D

  • You can take your bike into the train and carry it with you, as with some old trains.

  • So it's all one big train now? With no connected trains? Looks pretty good.

  • Yep it one big train now..

  • Very, Very cool!!! The Toronto Rocket. I LOVE Toronto.

  • I love toronto to :D

  • Ohhh i looks like japan :P and i love toronto and i live there too :P

  • for those who don't know: The new subway train will be on display at the CNE on august 15 to september 1st.

  • I know :P

  • Did You see the new model? I'm interested to Know if the Train operator get's a full cabin! like he or she would be positioned in the middle, and the entry door would be from behind.. kind of like Via trains and such

  • It looked like a full cabin, which I'm kind of disappointed about...It will mean no more sitting in the front seat watching the signals, track etc up ahead. =P

  • To the contrary, it is better to do this with the full cabin. I move to the front as well, but if I arrive at the station a little late, I am in a rush just to get on and I have to sit anywhere. Now you can get on at any door and move forward form the inside. Also helpful on a cold winter day!!

  • I think the name is T35A08 Or T3

  • TTC has named these trains "Toronto Rocket". (TR for short)

  • Cool hope it faster then the other trains in toronto.

  • It's like the MTR trains in hong kong... FINALLY!

  • Yeah lol i can't wait until i ride on one of those train i bet it would be packed if i went the first day it came out lol

  • I wonder why they have to put that red fabric on the seats...

It just gets dirty after a long time... like it looses colours and they can't really clean it...

  • i don't know maybe you should ask the ttc emplyees well bye

  • i also hope it sounds as nice as the T1

  • OMG it looks great!!! I guess you can walk between cars with that one which you can't do currently. Cool!!! Nice vid, thanks!

  • Nps

  • OMFG ITS SO NICE
