I was always doing the down and up motion , but i was etting the ball over my head , i start putting my shot pocket lower (kinda in front of my face) like you showed and my shot got better thanks!
Honestly, if you aren't in it for the long haul, then you will NEVER become a great shooter. This is because you will learn little things everyday you practice and this accumulates through experience and game play. Learning never stops and although you will learn the most at the very beginning, the little things will be the determining factor during the game.
@MrSuperSloMo i think their whole point is reducing variables of a jumpshot... the exploding u mentioned is not going to be the same all thru the game as u get tired... what they are teaching takes away some factors and focus on a simple jumpshot with less factors...
you guys dont look like you doing the down and up motion, and only seems like your doing the up-motion only.
PLZ help me if I don't understand

Thanks for the appreciation. From our coaching experience, this advice is great for kids, especially!

Thanks for your comment. In my opinion, if the shot looks simple and easy, that's all that matters.

Why don't you just catch the ball crouched and explode out of the crouch for power? Doesn't this take a lot more time?

@MrSuperSloMo Yes it does.
