You could never have The sec Champion vs the PAC 10 or Big 10 champion because the the Rose Bowl had to be Pac 10 vs Big 10 champs and the Sugar Bowl had to be the SEC champion. The superbowl was a good one this year for sure. Utah needs to get in a better conference. I watched that Bama/Utah game and they are darn good. I was impressed with the kind of ball they played. College football has gained more parity over the last few years. There are good teams all over the country. That is why a National title is such a big deal. Its tough to get there and win. Did you even watch the game? Michigan led 28-14 at one point, a few mistakes are what made it close. Allowing a last second TD from Michigan would have been throwing away the game, but Florida was outplayed, outcoached, and outmatched.

Where a team is currently ranked isn't automatically indicitive of how good they are. In 2005, Minnesota was ranked #18 while Penn State was unranked, but Penn State pulverized the Golden Gophers and managed to get ranked.
Also, Florida failed to capitalize on Michigan's mistakes. If Florida was really betteer, they'd have made Michigan pay for every mistake made.

The only other young team I know of that managed to go far was Ohio State, a team expected to finish with a mediocore record at best ended up winning the Big Ten and only losing to Illinois and LSU.
ohio state got to the bcs game because they did not played teams like florida, georgia, auburn or tennesse, some of the toughest teams of the sec...not to mentions other teams like usc, missouri or oklahoma...if osu would have played them i dont think they would have made it to the NC game...by the way theyre playing usc, and i wolud not want to miss that beating usc will give to osu....good luck with that...
I don't think USC is going to blow out OSU, but I am pretty sure it'll be a loss, and so will the Penn State game and the Illinois game. Ohio State will probably finish 9-3, tied with Illinois, and since OSU already will have played USC, then either Illinois or Penn State (who I think will finish either 10-2 or 11-1) will go to the Rose Bowl and Ohio State will either be a BCS at large team or go to the Capital One Bowl.

I'm a Nittany Lions fan but I always cheer for Big Ten teams in bowl games, even Ohio State and Michigan (two of Penn State's biggest rivals). I'm thinking in 2008, Penn State will finish on top of the Big Ten with the only likely loss being to a Wisconsin team out for revenge after PSU laid a 38-7 shellacking on them in Beaver Stadium. Ohio State and Illinois will probably be tied for #2 in the Big Ten, followed by Wisconsin and Michigan at #3.

It was worse before the BCS started are you kidding me. You had teams locked into bowl games that often made no sense. You could never have The sec Champion vs the PAC 10 or Big 10 champion because the the Rose Bowl had to be Pac 10 vs Big 10 champs and the Sugar Bowl had to be the SEC champion. Before the BCS is was really really bad. The NFL stinks, not a fan. So 2 years ago a 16-0 patriots lose to a 10-6 Giants. That is not so hot. The NFL is a bunch of Millionair babies anyway.

The superbowl was a good one this year for sure. Utah needs to get in a better conference. I watched that Bama/Utah game and they are darn good. I was impressed with the kind of ball they played. College football has gained more parity over the last few years. There are good teams all over the country. That is why a National title is such a big deal. Its tough to get there and win. The Gators have been very lucky in many ways to get the chance to play for 2 titles in 3 years. I know that.

Did you even watch the game? Michigan led 28-14 at one point, a few mistakes are what made it close. Allowing a last second TD from Michigan would have been throwing away the game, but Florida was outplayed, outcoached, and outmatched.
Just admit that Florida lost to a better team. You don't have to admit that Appalachian State and Wofford can play "what if" games with Florida now, just admit that the Big Ten doesn't suck.

Where a team is currently ranked isn't automatically indicitive of how good they are. In 2005, Minnesota was ranked #18 while Penn State was unranked, but Penn State pulverized the Golden Gophers and managed to get ranked.
Also, Florida failed to capitalize on Michigan's mistakes. If Florida was really betteer, they'd have made Michigan pay for every mistake made.

I don't think USC is going to blow out OSU, but I am pretty sure it'll be a loss, and so will the Penn State game and the Illinois game. Ohio State will probably finish 9-3, tied with Illinois, and since OSU already will have played USC, then either Illinois or Penn State (who I think will finish either 10-2 or 11-1) will go to the Rose Bowl and Ohio State will either be a BCS at large team or go to the Capital One Bowl.

I'm a Nittany Lions fan but I always cheer for Big Ten teams in bowl games, even Ohio State and Michigan (two of Penn State's biggest rivals). I'm thinking in 2008, Penn State will finish on top of the Big Ten with the only likely loss being to a Wisconsin team out for revenge after PSU laid a 38-7 shellacking on them in Beaver Stadium. Ohio State and Illinois will probably be tied for #2 in the Big Ten, followed by Wisconsin and Michigan at #3.

I said they had a weak NON CONFERENCE schedule. I don't think you can have a weak SEC schedule.

the reason for that trumpeter is cause florida lost almost their whole defense, and some of the offense. 70% of the gators football team are freshmen and sophmore. i'm guessing that's why they put a weak non conference schedule.

The Gators are so much of a joke it isn't funny. They have 2 national Titles in the history of their school. They aren't even near to being a BCS power. As they shown this year, they were a one trick pony who is largely a NCAA non issue!

damn, urban you got as a national championship. but now 3 losses already??? well people its hard to bounce back, losing your starting quarterback, some of your offense, almost all of your defense and playing with a team that is 70% freshmen and sophmore, look for florida to big big next year and definitely the year after that. i guess the critics were right when they said they were a bit overrated. well, looks like its back to the outback bowl

Yes we all agree Ohio State is horrible. 27-1 in their last 28. Ten of those games vs ranked teams. Beat Texas and Michigan in their houses. How pathetic!!!
