I want to add that I do agree that it's healthy for a band to move on to new things. I don't enjoy their last albums because i don't find myself in them. But obviously i can't expect U2 to base their records on my life. If they'd stayed making JT over and over then i might find this even worse. I like their early stuff because it fits in with who i am and what kind of music i like to hear. If people find as much or more value in NLOTH than they do in TUF than I can't argue with that.

Once upon a time i worshipped at the altar of U2 like no other. Nowadays i think eveyrthing past zooropa is passable to bad. And like people said great song but awful energy-less rendition. I think it's because at this point in their career U2 was not into their early stuff as much, they'd moved on to something else.
