I tell you something its rare to come across a talent such as meatloaf. Say what you want about him, he can make brilliant songs to make you feel the emotion in the song (such as this one of course) and damnit he can hold notes that most humans could dream of!
I had traded my QUEEN viynal record in the early 80's for meatloaf bat out of hell and it was the best trade i ever made and get this I'm with the same boyfriend Ive been with for 17 years and the first song that was playing on our first date was paridise by the dashboardlight lmao
This is all about what the power of love can do for a person. I have a lady like this, that brought me back from the brink of dispair. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be here today most likely. I have a lived a very brutal life and had to do some fairly dark things that broke down my heart and soul. She knows all about my past and the things I've had to hide about what I've done. She forgave me for those and loves me still. So it's truely about what love will do for a person.
Beautiful song...and his voice is just perfect for it:) Meat Loaf is freaken amazing, best singer ever:P and i absolutly love this song. I'm religious so this defentily seems like a really great song about God's love in my opinion:)
@werewolfXluver4 It could be interpreted that way cuz he does say "baby" but still, to me it seems stronger than that because of the lines like "When the darkness gets in
I scream out and your light sets me free" and
"I'm not afraid if I live or die
I'm not afraid 'cause I believe." But it could just be a really strong love for a girl I guess. But idk, Meat Loaf is religious and so am I, so thats y I think of it as Gods love:P

@CountryFordGirl26 If the song were about God's love it would be "please forgive me" or something. I'm not religious myself so you could call is bias if you like, but I don't think it's a song about God.
