  • I remember the sabuni ya Astro song, I promise to get it for you, I saw a copy at Melodica in Nairobi, next time am there I will remember to pick a copy. That and Sav omo they rocked,

  • @Okonda1000 I think this song is properly called "Savon ya Sika Astra" by Negro Succes

  • @Okonda1000

I have the song but do not know how to upload it. can someone tell me how?

  • I have records dating from 1970 onwards but the condition of neglect made some of them impossible to play but I had managed to record some of them on tapes. I will make arrangements to post you some oldies but you seem to have every song .

  • This was a real hit in the seventies brings good memories once again thanks for posting them. My collection has so much scratches it will take me time to restore them.

  • @josephinekiwanuka Do you have stuff that was never released on cd and do you have the ability to convert to digital and send it? If so, don't worry about the restoring, any song worth it, I will give my time (like this one, from Kenyan vinyl).

  • Real decent music. These guys were genius and did so to entertain not for money. Today's Zairean music is awful. I wonder what has gone wrong with the genetic pool of talents in the country. Today, the music popularly known as `sukus' or mabele or whatever is so bad that the general public associates it with immorality. It is associated with pub or bar environment and for the uneducated. Dancing is fast and immoral.

Yet TPOK was and is still listened to by the elites of today. Kudos siddikh.

  • AboubacarSiddikh,

Fantastic song you have uploaded, the CD version has been truncated to 4 minutes (Shameful). Just wanted to know who the rest of the musicians were I know the vocalists, but who were playing the Guitars & the sax?

  • See my comments on my posting of Sukola Motema Olinga.

  • Dear Siddikh.

Accept my best wishes of 2010.

My dear this is a great service to Music Lovers you are doing world wide.

  • this song used to make my mom happy when it was being played ilike it too now that am grown up

  • Dieu avait donné aux congolais l'or, le diamant, Franco, Nico et rochereau. Nous sommes fiers de vous. Merci pour tout. Vous nous etes plus chers que toutes les richesses de ce monde

  • What a great hit! Still recall bursting a speaker of a record player with this music way back in 1973. The speaker probably saved the "amplifier" - pot! Ran back to high school very fast to avoid being punished for the "crime!!!" Great journey down memory lane.

    Thanks!!

  • I recall playing the 45 rpm disk on our record-player repeatedly in 1972. Then I did not know what it was saying. Since it was posted here, I have learned what Franco was saying to Little Georgette, you know that I love you,...

  • Aboubacar, this is great stuff. I've been looking for this number for the last 10 years without success. More power to you. Merci

  • I, too, have been looking for this piece for a number of years. Thanks AboubacarSiddick for posting it. I play it every day.

Does anybody know that piece which sings about Sabuni ya Astral... I do not know whether those are the actual words i used to hear

  • Officially, the Most Popular Uploader of Mzee Franco's music on youtube - Because you, sir, bring the Masterpieces!!!
