I have the Moses Pendleton full version on DVD transferred from VHS off A & E network broadcast in the 80s. Will be glad to send a copy to any who want. Find me on RonTaylor artist Fb.
Went to buy this on Amazon. Couldn't find it. I remember watching this over and over as a teenager. Made a new connection with dance, gymnastics, no, Showbiz to a generation of previously disconnected from art Americans. Wish I could share this whole video. Moses get your people on this. My family loved that you sauntered through OK. You inspired my Pole vaulter - not a dancer, but still not afraid to fly.
I owned a copy of this video and lost it about ten years ago through several moves. Is there any way I could get a copy? I have been looking everywhere.
I met him over 12 years ago in Barcelona, I used to work at the hotel he was staying at during his show. I had been dancing forewer but had never heard of him before as MOMIX was not very well know in Spain yet. He was nicely kind of "offended" I had never heard of him before and he invited me to go and see the show next day. I fell madly in love with MOMIX immediately!
I would like to send Moses a virtual sunflower if he ever reads this!
Thanks alot for posting clips from this show...saw it back when it came out and was a huge inspiration to my art and work. Any chance uploading the whole thing eventually??
i totally know exactly what you mean, i think he was the most influential artist i've ever known.
well, no luck with the whole vid on youtube. and honestly, why would you want it? the video quality sucks here.
i've been saying for years that i'd be willing to rip a copy of the dvd i made from my original VHS tape for people, but have honestly been very lazy about it.
Righteous dance vid. Missed the "Tainted Love" bit mentioned above, though. Thanks for the rec, friend :) And, thanks photoactivist for posting the vid. Kinda slammed me into the way back machine and made me think of "Dancin' in the Rain"... in a good way.
I saw the A&E program in the early 80s (when A&E still meant arts and entertainment). In one set he wore a loose-fitting white suit and the stage was illuminated with vertical bands of light. As he danced, to "Blue Skies" as I recall, the bands of dark and light seemed to undulate with the suit's fabric. The effect was absolutely stunning. I saw the program that one time and have always wanted to see it again. For the first time, I realized that dance, as an expressive art form, has no limits.
you know, for years and years, i never met anyone who'd ever even heard of him. your words are vindication of a lifetime of seeking others like myself.
it is amazing the brilliance Mr. Pendleton has in the way he moves and presenting it. just remarkable.
i said it a few comments ago, but contact me. i do have a DVD i made of the original VHS tape i have; maybe we can work something out. i'd sought for years for someone else who might have the full vid, the least i can do is share what i have
I have been searching for this film for years. I taped it once but lent it out (silly me!) and no longer have it. My favorite part is the section with the music "tainted love" playing while Moses and friends parade through the house. I would love to see the film again...

Does the full video contain his piece that used the song "Tainted Love"?

I only met Moses Pendleton, not the rest of the company, who was staying at another hotel.

that song is so intrisically linked with Moses Pendleton, i can never think of it otherwise.
i always pull out the video and watch it when i feel in a funk and want to remember what it means to be an artist.
