  • Nice catch.

  • hahaha. you can tell just by looking at the picture they took who caught that fish the guy on the right looks like a school girl with a poney haha

  • Why are they dieing out? Can you eat sturgeon?

  • @flipsk8ter1080 White Sturgeon are not dying out in the lower Fraser River. They are protected because they are slow growing and don't spawn until they are relatively old.

In some other areas the White Sturgeon is endangered, mostly because of dams or other human intervention.

  • In this water, the fish catch you.

  • wht rod was tht?

  • Wish I could catch something this big, guess i'll stick to catching carp, they're big, plenty of them, and easy to catch...

  • Nice fish

  • at 2:45 he sounds like charlie from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

  • If you get the chance, do some white sturgon fishing on the Columbia river in southern Washington. You can find more monstrous sized ones than the one you caught

  • @44typhoon you didnt kill it right

  • nice of u to let it go for someone esle to catch that fish

  • Live in prince george british columbia. Fraser river is in my background. My playground.

  • DAYUM =|

  • man thats cool i bass fish what kind of bait do you use for a sturgeon we aint even allowed to catch them here in florida

  • I love the peanut gallery that posts here. Odds are the closest they'll ever get to a sturgeon is here in this video.

  • They let go dinner! that Sturgeon was exhausted, and gave up! they could make fillets of it, but they let him go...

  • OMG there selling a surgeon at my local petstore it bout 2-3 inches

  • TO fast !!

  • @DrugFreeTeen22 how so? the fish is dead. if they were using lighter tackle the fish would be alive... I really dont care .. kill them all . if u think u know more than GOOD FOR FOR...

  • Comment removed

  • @vouyroy i wasnt dead ......all they did was hook it through the mouth, the tackle has nothing to do with it. And if they would have used lighter tackle it would have broken the rod with the hook still in its mouth and then died because it couldn't eat anything.

  • @africancichlidman "I wasnt dead...." ???? are u the sturgeon ? owner of video 1st labeled MONSTER FISH CAUGHT ON LIGHT TACKLE.... END OF STORY.

  • @vouyroy.... lol i meant it.....typo

  • @vouyroy ohhhhh, i didnt watch the 1st video.... sry

  • i want to catch one thats breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a whole year

  • Natives used to catch these things and tie them up in the river... they would cut chunks out as needed and they would still live for a week... very tough fish!

  • at 0:25 look where the rod is coming from lol

  • @TheUltimateF It's called a fighting belt - used to protect your lower belly. Many tough guys won't use them except for the biggest fish. I think this one was belt-worthy. Check out my other video "Belt or no Belt" for an example.

  • @TheUltimateF lol

  • @TheUltimateF why are u look at his nuts for !!

  • that is a big fish. Amazing!

  • catch and release ftw!

  • how much did it weigh or how much do u think?

  • hahaha did u hear the guys voice when he said"this is amazing"

  • BRAVO

  • they get pretty big in the okanogan lake too

  • wow that is one big fish, that'll last ya for a month lol

  • awesome thanks for the post

  • i lov how there all makeing joke to him when hes fighting a MONSTER

  • That is insane

  • i love that noise to

  • i love that noise to

  • So glad it was 'caught and released'....that was some fish! Nicely done and thanks for posting.

  • Ahhh

  • Arent they endangered?

  • @o0Guns0o They are protected in the lower Fraser River and endangered in the upper Fraser. We are fishing in the lower near Vancouver.

  • where is that?!?

  • what kind of line were you using? or should i say, what kind of cable?

  • haha that would suck if it was a chunk of woodor something nice job though

  • that fish would be on my wall....haha

  • Not bad guys!!!!!

  • Ist das in Duisburg?

  • @GePrinZz In Canada

  • @GePrinZz

    Haha....lustige frage!

  • Awesome!

  • u must have had a BEAST of a line!

  • fish is dead.... catch and release ? here in the us we dont use heavy lines for fresh water ! u canadians are using saltwater gear damn !!!

  • @vouyroy Fish was released unharmed. There are places in the U.S. where they catch large sturgeon. You have to use the appropriate tackle for the size of fish.

  • @44typhoon

I've caught two 9 footers $35 beefstick from the bank and a 12 footer from boat. I think high dollar gear is overrated.

  • @vouyroy Shut up man, fishing is the same here as it is there.

  • @vouyroy Have you ever fought a fish over 200 lbs before on light tackle? Probably not, but me neither, why question this guys methods, jealous?

  • that guy realy does love that noise

  • where are you there

  • lol, turns out to be a shoe

  • @theflamethrower9 One big-ass shoe!

  • dude, sweet as, real monster

  • thats so scary to eat,..

  • that is one big ass fish!

  • wow nice

  • river fish(except tilapia) taste bad. these fish are more valuable alive cuz they make the eggs for caviar. sell a jar of the eggs and you can get quite a bit of money.

  • @ShAdOwXsNiP3R you may be right about selling the eggs, but how the fish taste depends on what river you are at and what minerals are in the water. in the northern and western rivers the limestone will give the fish a funny taste, but in the south in the summer time some of them get a muddy taste, but most of the fish are pretty good especially in winter

  • @jl123ist yeah i saw a pic of a lady selling the meat in the middle east.

  • holy mother of god

  • WOW very good !! monster fish :O

  • look like that fishin poles gonna break!!! scary....

  • "tehehe, i love that sound" XD

  • The biggest one of these I've caught was 15.5'

  • what the fuck pound test are you using....that shit is incredible

  • I think for trips like that you need a scale on your boat rated to weight small whales.

I'm sure with that beasts size it was easily more than 440lbs. I'd like to see it's real weight. kuddos for the catch and release though, that's the true meaning of sportsman. for big fish, you should always release them so someone else gets the chance to hook it too, and unless it's seriously injured you should never keep it.

  • @drewnickel

440lbs is taken from the sturgeon length/weight chart. In the fall when salmon are running the fish are definitely much heavier, but I don't like to guess.

These fish must be released, and it's not important to me to know exactly how much it weighs.

  • @44typhoon it's a good thing they require catch and release, cause you can fish for even majorly endangered fish, and still ensure they survive, and also it gives others a chance to hook a monster too. and for me as long as I'm within a few pounds of the real weight I'm fine, I dont need to know the exact weight in pounds and ounces, all though it's cooler that way when you have a replica mount of it made. I'd much rather set the real fish free and have a replica made then kill and mount it

  • @drewnickel meant than kill and mount it

  • Heard these things can get up to 20 ft, I'd like to see one of them bad boys!

  • i geuss u didnt keep it lol

  • nice 440 punds

  • now thats a fish

  • That's nothing I use fish that size for bait

  • @money34fly sure you do... fish that big for bait?? either someone is over exaggerating or ur a little crazy...

  • @money34fly Nah chuck norris uses that size fish for bait.....

  • @money34fly yer i put them in my crab pots...

  • that's a beautiful catch. well done.

  • It's too bad not everyone has to abide by fishing rules... apparently some groups are permitted to fish irresponsibly. These groups make claims to have been born with the rights to take what they want. Canada NEEDS to get rid of a racist policy of allowing more rights to privileged people in this country, are we all not equally damaging the land?

  • wow thats a monster how many pounds was it estmiated at

  • @roboman367 440 lbs.

  • Hey one of those guys is randy from an episode of extream fishing with robson green

  • @M4T5ON Sorry, none of those guys is Randy from Exstream fishing.

  • @44typhoon lol

  • @44typhoon I think M4T5ON actually meant that one of those guys is turned on by an episode of "Exstream Fishing with Robson Green." There is clearly no one named "Randy" in this video.

  • That's one beautiful prehistoric fish and there wasn't much of a struggle like a marlin would do. It's a lot like the river is giving birth.

  • nice fish

  • thats a fucking beast of a fish

  • oh my fucking god!

  • white sturgeon are know to get even bigger than this

  • That is utterly amazing! Excellent! And you released him back. Most awesome video I've seen today.

  • awesome!

  • I think the white sturgeon is also in the sacremento river?
