The source of truth is neither popularity nor tradition which is the rightful reason Lutherans left the Catholic church and yet it's ironically the main basis of the argument. Truth comes from God, so read the context of the glossed-over verses referenced in the presentation and see God's truth revealed and in fact testifying against the traditions of men.
Being raised a Baptist, I was taught that immersion was the only proper mode. However, I find it interesting that Luke records John the Baptist to have said that Christ will "baptize us with the Holy Spirit," and Luke later writes in Acts that the Holy Spirit was "poured out." This changed my mind on how to baptize.
Hi..you have a "good eye"! That is good biblical interpretation and you are absolutely right. If there was only one way to apply the water that should have been spelled out very clearly...and of course it isn't. Thanks...Pastor Lassman

Hi..here's the point: 1) if you go by etymology (the root meaning) immersion is implied..here's the problem 2) How a word us USED is more important than etymology and that's why immersion is not the only way to baptize....thanks for your comment..Pastor Lassman
Hi.....yes...the Greek has the command: "Make disciples of all nations" and then follows two participles tellings how to do that: baptizing and teaching (or teaching and baptizing)
I'm a layman and don't know the greek, but the king james version says to go into all nations and TEACH then baptize, could a better way to say it be go MAKE DISCIPLES BY baptizing?(in addition to teaching)
read the king james bible people and find the truth!!! john the baptist baptized jesus completely. and then jesus went to the wilderness 40 days and was tempted by the devil!!!!

Great points -
Although...
Baptism in the original text DOES come from the word Baptismo (βάπτισμα) which mean to immerse.
