No. You can't make a lot of money off of this. It is pretty much just something one does if inspired. In my experience, for most people music is not a profession where most people make excessive money. Like acting, only a very select few make it big and become very rich. This outcome is even more characteristic of those in the classical music field, as opposed to pop music. I would say that most musicians are poor. But many find joy in their music and that can be reward enough.
Can you make alot of money off of this? I want to know because I am doing a career research project and just want to prove to everyone that violinsts aren't poor.
ahh that would so make my day , just going to the subway and hearing music :) i have an obsession with trains , hah, and combine that with music (i play the violin too) that's just wonderful :) if i was any good i'd like to do this. instead of fancy concerts all of the time, you can connect to people just going through their regular routine.
anyhow, keep it up :) you're really good
meditation is one of my fave songs, and now in trutina as well
if only there were violinists on EVERY street corner. I think ppl would be nicer. Or angrier, because the sounds would overlap and sound horrible, but you get my general analogy!
omg this is so beautiful! i have a video of me singing this on youtube, but it sounds so much better on the violin. so beautiful. wonderful job, you will go far in life.
sometimes people (like that subway employee) have no idea about what constitutes art-what true expressions of one's heart and soul are-your rendition of "In Trutina" was stunningly beautiful. I loved your technique and musicality along with the obvious emotion-semplice belissima! bravo!
beautiful! you are wonderful to watch. i'm thinking about playing on the street, but i can get really scared about performing....... this was inspiring. i think the background noise adds to the effect too.
wow, you play well...i feel bad sitting here listining to you and not tiping! i play viola, and ive played for tips a few times, but only outside of some local malls. i have some questions...
great song...great violinist...an important film too, given the counterpoint of the background...people LOVE it...and the beauty of the music comes thru it all...keep up the good work
How beautiful.I like that you aren't afraid to play lovely, slow lyrical music and not just fast things. I used to busk with a guy who insisted that people were only interested in hearing fast things. I thought this was funny and your wonderful sound and musicality proves that I was right:)
This is SO MUCH BETTER than Joshua Bell's subway video on youtube.
Audience response is the gold standard, and they're really paying attention instead of just walking by. But don't stray too far from that violin case - people can't tip you!
I think I'd be happy with that, just playing violin for those going through their day and takin time to listen to the music. :]] i play violin too, although definitely not as good. heehee You're amazing, keep playing the beautiful music! =)
Je n'avais jamais essayé de jouer dans une station de métro/gare, et javoue que dès le moment ou j'entend votre violon, votre manière de jouer et votre sens profond de la musique m'inspire.
This is very nice. When I was thirteen I went on tour to Mexico with a violin buddy of mine and we played duets on the streets of Guanajuato. It's very exhilarating! You did an excellent job.
thank you to everyone for your comments-it was a day of extreme contrasts-symbolism-the train leaves the station when the music ends-the rush of the air-the dude focused on his fast food compared to the reason why I felt so strongly that I needed to play in this place to retrace a long ago time as New York violinist-the child with the crutches-the father and son in the end-the cops who let me play despite the protestation of the subway employee-I thank th audiences-Jim
Jim... very touching music. Felt like a gush of air just tried to jump out of my chest! Too bad there was so much other noise blocking out ur music...
street musicians are the best,
their works usually move you
or touches ur heart,
their music makes our life & the world beautiful,
I think we should have them on every corner,
isn't that
awesome?
