Remember how Hick's got to be leader in Aliens? Gorman was knocked out so he took over. Since Biehn's trademark is playing military soldiers, maybe his character will be one of Sec-Ops' second-in-command. But again the " Aliens and Avatar " thing.

@shadowdazzy Bcz Cameron felt having both Weaver AND Michael would remind people of "Aliens" to much. I'm rooting for him in the sequel though!

im happy Stephen Lang got the role, he was great in it, and i hadnt seen him in anything since the HardWay (1991),,,

except Public Enemies, but i didnt recognise him then :P

Quaritch was my favorite character of AVATAR, I always like the tough military guys, Michael Biehn should be in AVATAR 2 thoug, he can be like Quaritches offworld 2nd in command

Most definately, cos Weaver won't be and that was a big reason Cameron didn't put Biehn in. Thought it'd be too similar to aliens

Biehn and Lang are both great actors. They have a sort of similar intensity in their bearing and interaction. No doubt Biehn would have done well as Quaritch, but Cameron gave him three plum roles ("Terminator," "Aliens, "The Abyss"), so you can't blame him for wanting to try someone new. Lang did a great job, so hats off to him.

Stephen Lang did a real good job in Avatar but I've always been a Michael Biehn fan and I think he would have done an even better job. If Biehn had played Lang's character, I'm sure Biehn would get offers to play in more big budget films and deservingly so, Biehn is one of the best and underrated actors today and not to mention one of the good guys in hollywood. It's sad and ridiculous that he's not more recognized.
