Sonic is really just a flash in the oan, once you reflect back upon his performance. Given, the Genesis vs. SNES days were golden, as were the reast of the early 1990's. That 90's nostalgia, which Sonic is a part of, is undoubtably one of the reasons he is overrated. Honestly, though, can anyone say that Sonic has kept his prestige past the Genesis? He's still an icon, but not nearly as well-known; grandmothers know Mario, and not Sonic. To boot, Mario thrived in 3D- Sonic has not
