  • OMG my heart stopped a few times worrying about the baby!!! getting squashed or dropping through the loop.. oh my heart cant take it.. glad all went well...

  • A lot of these comments have terrible words in the context. The gorillas are

only playing. Kinda cute, except when the male shows some disrespect or

disregard for the female, even the little one, yet there's no need for foul

    language.

  • LOL, I hadn't looked at these videos in years! Our little boy is going to be 5 in October! And I do apologize for the audio...I remember I couldn't figure out how to get it off of there!

  • lil' gorilla's got a cool lil' haircut.

  • GREAT VIDEO ! THANK YOU

  • the silver back was playing rought with no concern for the fragile baby????

  • @tirvonum gorillas, like most other wild animals, are a lot more tough than us humans, and can take more of a beating. have you seen when giraffes give birth? the calf just drops from the mother and hits the ground, and you'd think it would have been injured, but that's just the norm for animals. elephant calfs too get kicked around a fair bit by their larger relatives, and to them it would be a small shock.

  • Daphne, thanks again for the wonderful videos of the lovely, lovely Fossey and his beautiful family. More soon? It's such a pleasure seeing the little one I knew as a happy, well adjusted grownup family man. He looks so much like both Bongo and Oscar, but his gentleness is all Bongo (well, and Bridgette...)

  • Thanks for the comment! I will get more on soon. Little Mosi has grown alot...turning 2 next month! Fossey continues to be a wonderful dad and playmate. It's such a joy to watch them and I'm very priveledged to be part of their lives.

  • No problem.....I shouldn't have called you an idiot...you obviously aren't one & that was rude of me. We just get SO many folks who criticize our zoo (and zoos in general) who are usually uninformed as to how we (and they) really operate we tend to get defensive & a bit intolerant when we probably shouldn't. No harm done & everything's cool. Again, my apologies.

  • We just get so tired of well-meaning but generally uninformed people making comments like what you wrote it's maddening. And 99%of those folks have NEVER been to a zoo in years, let alone ours.

We deal with people everyday with the attitude "animals shouldn't be in ANY zoo", "they should just all be free", when they don't know anything about the animals' welfare, it gets to you. So, YOU shouldn't have said what you did, I probably shouldn't have said what I did, so let's just drop it & go on.

  • Man I'm so sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone. It was silly of me to think that you would let the gorillas live in a 2 meter square room. I love gorillas and I don't have anything against zoos, I know living in captivity can change their behaviour sometimes but at least they are safe. I liked the video really much. I'd love to visit but I live a bit far away from there. I'll have to do with watching them on youtube. Sorry again for my bad mouth.

  • how big is the cage? you can't see properly on the video but it looks really small. Thats fucked up.

  • That particular cage they're in is fairly small...it's one of several indoor holding areas they have access to. Their outdoor yard is extremely large...larger than just about any zoo you'll find. Don't worry about these gorillas...worry about the ones still in Africa as humans decimate their habitat. Soon there won't be a home for any of us...humans or gorillas. That's "fucked up", as you so eloquently put it.

  • Ok my bad I haven't been to a zoo since I was a kid. And yes it's really sad that the gorillas in Africa are endangered but it's not just humans fault, diseases like ebola take a lot of lives too.

  • looks like there doin' some jiu jitsu

  • He is a good DAD

  • At some times, it almost looks like he's tickling her. o_O

  • That's exactly what he's doing! Gorillas play and tickle just like humans do, and they even laugh!

  • OMG I never knew that!! Heh heh, that's amazing!

  • LOL the child is like 'mom, dad? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO DOING!?'

  • they look crazy

  • at times it looked like a porn moovie..

..but, apart from joking, that silverback is terribly giant, but very playful and i like him!! His arms are big, long, and strong, so is his back, i won't immagine if he punches a human...

  • lol punching a human

  • Thanks for getting these up to share with the world! Our LR Zoo keepers are the best.
