Easter isn't a Christian celebration, it used to be a celebration of spring setting in - the bunny and eggs are symbols of the goddes Eoster/Ostara referring to light, fertility and life. By the time Christianity forced everyone to be baptised (in blood) the people still wanted to celebrate this day and wanted the next generations(us) to be able to so kept at it with a Christian excuse as is the case with many other western holidays. Just my 2 cents.

The terminology was removed from most of the scripture while updates were made. One passage that was removed entirely brings up king David receiving aid from these bone conjurers, but it was deemed unholy by the church
