  • Ughh i miss music like this.I agree with wacodude86....we're the same age too :))

  • Glad i grew up with MUSIC like this!!!!

  • Stay with me baby.....profound lyrics and awesome delivery. I'm all goose pimpled now. Ooooooooh Weee!

  • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful....

  • i think this is best work its my fav vanessacoll40@yahoo.com

  • this is my fav and personally i think its his best.

  • I love Peabo, my mother loved Peabo and she passed him to me. Where are vocalist like Peabo. We don't get songs like this anymore. I really miss, the song that make you sit back and think about the person you love and the person that you've loved in the past. Peabo, Donny, Luther are just a few of my all time favorite male vocalist.

  • @AllenSykes thanks for putting Donny Hathaway in there, lots of people forget that incredible voice. I think I will find his Christmas song and others...loved him so much.

  • killer !!

  • Have to say at 5:15, his phrasing send a crazy smile across my face lol. Where is the repeat....LOL

  • OMG.it has been ages since I have heard this classic...and once again I relive the feelings, sounds, scents and love of that time...how many singers today will be able to hold that place of honor...the lady Gaga's of today will fade musically in a short time only, her drama will be remembered, but Peabo...crosswinds, feel the fire, I'm so into you...PICK ONE..this will live on for decades !!!!

  • @cakelady475

"the lady Gaga's today will fade musically in a short time only."

I definitely agree with your comment, but I disagree with the "musically" statement. I don't consider Lady Gaga or Lil Wayne, Kenye West, Minjai and the rest of today's autotune wannabe ZAPP clones BS as "music" but more like a spectacle you hear and see at a damn circus. The so-called music today is not music, but noise. It is sensory overload sounds gone bezerk, just done on a massive scale with technology.

  • @MrJuly1990ish Kudos, I agree with the way to stated that...did not think of it that way, but you're right. To be for real there are some true talents out there who are true to what their craft is. They may not have the longevity like some of our legends but I sometimes think of it this way...you have the star of a movie and the co-stars and supporting actors. the same in music.. if you get what i mean. Much love

  • @cakelady475

True, I do like John Legend and Corrien Baliey Rae, also my 21 year old nephew likes Sade, so I guess there is hope, lol!!

    Much love back and peace.

  • @MrJuly1990ish SO TRUE, COULDN'T HAVE WORDED IT BETTER MYSELF! But t he sad thing though to it all is that it (Lady Gaga or Lil Wayne, Kenye West, Minjai and the rest of today's autotune wannabe ZAPP clones BS as "music" but more like a spectacle you hear and see at a damn circus) is accepted and considered to be music by the general populous and music by artist like Bryson, EW&F, Osborn,O'Jays are a dying breed or ENDANGERED SPECIES and only way you'll hear it is through YOU TUBE SMH N SHAME.

  • @MrJuly1990ish WELL SAID... I AGREE 100%

  • Play the cassette to death everyday. I still have it. Love this song.

  • I feel the CROSSWINDS.

  • This song still give me goose bumps!! HAPPY NEW YEARS PEABO!

  • My older sister was a Peabo fiend. Now that I'[m grown -- I understand myself. Doesn't it get better than this.

  • I listened to Peabo so much that my son came out looking like him...I swear I think he's the father...LOL Love him still!!!

  • I love this song. It brings back so mary great memories. The time was 79-80 life was good for me back then.

  • I want to marry him...... where are the men that dress like this...looks like a man!

  • @1penatron When Peabo first broke out, my friends and sisters were so crazy over him. He was sharp and cool and cute with a lot of style. I saw him in person once at the Auditorium in Chi-town and he did this song. He tore it down and the audience - wild!. Those were the days, for real. That voice and his delivery. Doesn't get too much better than this cut. Peace. :D

  • @1penatron Think late 70's, Babe..........

  • One of my favorite Peabo songs

  • I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR SUCH A LONG TIME. I'M SURE SINCE THE LATE 70'S TO NOW!!!!

    MARYFISHER

  • @maryleefisher So have I, thank whoever for posting it, I carried this man's picture around so long from state to state in the early 80's, got it at a concert in Cleveland, Ohio, loved him so much then and still do.

  • Peabo had a string of great songs, outstanding lyrics and arrangements, he is the last of the living balladeers

  • @cbjrcher Don't forget Freddie Jackson. But yeah Peabo's lyrics are SERIOUS Bidness.

  • I remember hearing this song when I was like 6 years old in '81 I believe on the record player. I ended up making a copy years later by cassette from the album. When I first got stationed in Hawai'i in '96 I would play this many times on my day off in the dorm rooms w/ that cool Hawaiian breeze coming in. Ah...memories....

  • They just don't make pure "voices" like this, especially with lyrics we can actually understand- and relate too. He never got the true credibility he deserves!!! Luv Peabo

  • This song is the best!! Listen to the words. Peabo's voice is out of this world! I saw him in person and almost fainted. I met him back stage in Saint Louis and he was really down to earth and funny. Sexy voice and man!

  • thank you for this great song

do you have Split decision by Peabo ? if so could you post it

  • @jacoff125 Damn, thanks, could not think of the name of club celebrity before it got fire bomb. okay, union street /pierson house/mr. b's. Plymouth Rock

  • @jacowff125 What was the name of the bar that use to be on Plymouth & Southfield, I want to say where the old Payless use to be/ before u get to Starter/cross street from the old soul food restauraunt?

  • Timeless ...

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!!

Do you happen to have "Slowdancing" by Peabo Bryson?

  • loving Peabo Bryson a lot of singers, actors and celebrities go bankrupt

  • Poor peabo he lives here in Atlanta Ga. He lost his home and was proclaimed to be broke I.R.S seized all his belongings. It was sad man.

  • the I.R.S would reposses the clouds from GOD!!

  • Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

  • @Shontbowe WHATTTTTTTTTTT ?

  • My Favorite Peabo song...from my FAVORITE Peabo album. I have vivid memories of turning this one up as a child and TRYING to lear to hand dance to it...and also of listening with headphones on...while improving on my reading skills by reading *singing* the lyrics.

  • Peabo's voice is brilliant and bigger than life on this. He used to commercials before he hit the radio with his songs, like Donny Hathaway and Luther Vandross. Did you notice that they made some of the greatest balladeers in the business? Love this man and his music. Keep on Peabo, wherever you are.

  • This is one of my ultimate favorite songs by Peabo Bryson. Peabo has so much finesse.

  • This was the first song I heard by Peabo. Still love it after all these years. Peabo oozes coolness.

  • Wow, as a child you listen to songs but really never pay attention to the lyrics. The beat is what made a song hot. As an adult you now pay attention to those lyrics and they can be therapeutic. This is such a beautiful poignant song that hits home with what I'm going through. Thanks Peabo for the inspiration!

  • damn, you hit it on the nose! i've loved Peabo's music since i was a kid too, but now i really understand it! thanks for the years Peabo!

  • @djntt69 Hope your heart is on the mend and hasn't given up on love, its out there and worth the wait when it arrives

  • @frenchmary thank you very much for your encouraging words. still on the mend but I'm getting there. God bless you!!!!!!!!

  • @djntt69 Baby watch out that you don't get caught up in the Isley's "Here we go again" a little while down the road, you will save yourself some heartache!

  • @frenchmary I feel u there. Haven't been in a relationship in 2 yrs and don't plan on ever being in one. Too much bs for me.

  • @djntt69 Yep.

  • Such a great memory. I was a Marine stationed in Okinawa back 1979 and I bought the cassette and loved it. Use to make me homesick. Wow! 30 years have gone bye so fast.

  • mee too .... me tooo I was stationed in San Diego CA. and yes these were my song to listen to on the ship.

  • You were in the Navy? What ship? My brother was a sailor in San Diego in 79 on the USS Jason

  • classic peabo! he was the man!

  • i love this song. i just rediscovered and i can't stop playing it. bring back memories big time!! flawless delivery!!

  • I remember listening to this on Bay Area radio station KBLX/ KRE and being floored by Peabo's voice and this arrangement..its STILL stunning! What a great tune!!

  • Oh the memories from the early eighties!! Being a carefree college Freshman on the campus of then North Texas State University. I had fallen in love with Mr. Peabo Bryson and I wanted this album for my birthday. My plan was to trek across campus after lunch with my girlfriends to buy the album - yes album back then. Little did I know and much to my surprise my college girlfriends had bought me the album and I was so happy! I was happier than happy! I played it to death! Those were the days!!
